    June 19/23 Had booked an appt for service to a heat pump. Technician arrived, immediately informed me that they did not deal with ****** heat pumps, offered to deep clean it for $500 plus, but not service it. Laird is listed as a ****** dealer. Technician was here for 3 - 4 minutes. I was charged for a service call and sent an invoice for $179.67. I called Laird, related my experience, and said that I would not pay since no service had been provided. Today, I have received a notice from *** ****** collection agency telling me to remit the above amount I have been using Laird for years as the service provider for my furnace.

    Laird & Son is in fact the oldest independant ****** dealer in Canada . We do charge a fee for  a diagnostic for a repair and then provide a quote .  This fee of course includes all travelling time .

    As a gesture of goodwill we will be reversing this fee for the customer .
