    We recently had a bad experience with Korean Air. My mom in law was scheduled to fly with Korean on 6/25. But she was recently evaluated by a licensed medical professional at *********************** in *******, who determined that she was suffering from increased anxiety, insomnia, and recurring trauma-related dreams directly related to crush of India airlines happened on 12 June, 2025. This condition was exacerbated by recent media coverage of plane crashes. My mom in law has a long history of anxiety and depression, and has been on prescription medication for over six years.Her medical provider clearly recommended cancellation of the flight and referral to a psychiatrist for further care (see attached letter dated 06/14/2025 by ****** **, APRN). Despite the clear documentation of her legitimate mental health diagnosis, Korean Air refused to provide a refund or consider a waiver for her ticket, showing a cruel and irresponsible disregard for her well-being.This behavior is unacceptable from any business, let alone an international airline. Mental health is a legitimate medical condition and should be treated with the same seriousness and compassion as any physical illness. Korean Airs lack of empathy and rigid policy enforcement in the face of a documented medical crisis is both alarming and inhumane. We urge BBB to review this case and hold Korean Air accountable for its treatment of Ms. ****** We are requesting a full refund for the unused ticket and a formal apology from Korean Air for the emotional distress and mental health negligence caused by this experience.
