Im trying to get a refund. I paid for a parking spot that I didnt even get to use. There was no option for me to cancel.Business Response

Typically on-street parking requires pre-payment and is non-refundable as we are not able to determine how long your vehicle was actually parked on street. I am happy to research this matter to determine if a refund is warranted.
We are unable to locate your parking session with the information you have provided. Can you please provide more information about the location you were parked? If you were parked at a meter please provide meter number or location. If you were parked at a surface lot please provide lot name or location to help us further research your transaction.

This complaint is meant for Easy Parking Group based out of *******, upon review of the parking receipt and citation that were submitted with this complaint this is not a citation that was issued by our organization, EasyPark ******. We have no affiliation with Easy Parking Group.
I can assist in pointing out that the citation was issued to Missouri license plate # ******* but your payment receipt shows you paid for parking for Florida license plate ******. It may be possible that the citation was placed on your vehicle in error. If you were driving vehicle plate # RIPP89 then this citation would have nothing to do with you. But, if you were driving vehicle plate # D9394AD then you made payment incorrectly for your parking session.

This is not the first time I have paid for a meter and then been fined in downtown *********. This is a dishonest business.Their meters do not work properly. Many of these machines are broken. There are not a lot of options to park downtown, let alone to spend time finding a spot, to get into in, and then find out it will not take cash payment. So instead of inserting money that is not recorded, on 3/4/25 I downloaded the pay by phone app. There was 2 minutes remaining when I went to pay. I paid for an hour by paying $2.45. See attachment. Fifteen minutes later I was written a citation. Payments issues have occurred a multitude of times for me as I often have meetings at the *************** offices. This is not a one time occurrence. This happens more than not. I do not have the time, energy, or money to spend on fines when I obeyed the laws and rules as they directed.Business Response

Upon review of the documentation presented and research in our PaybyPhone system we do not show that your transaction was completed, please see attached for transaction history from our system of license plate ******. Per the PaybyPhone screenshot you provided it is the payment screen before the payment is completed, top of the page show "Please confirm your purchase" - this is not a payment receipt. With the information that you have provided and the records from our system we do not show a payment was made for vehicle JAW213 on March 04, 2025 between 1:39pm to 2:39pm. With this information the citation was correctly issued. If you could please provide a receipt for your transaction or financial statement showing the funds were drafted from your account so we can do further research and review.
Per the additional meter photos you included it does show that the meter was functioning at the time, you could have made payment at the meter with your card or with coins as well. In summer 2024 we replaced all ***** meters in downtown ********* to ensure meters are operational and more convenient to customers. We also replaced and increased signage at the meters and in our surface lots. We understand that sometimes meter parking is not always readily available, unfortunately on-street meter spaces are first come, first served. Please review our website for additional locations for your parking needs, **************************************************. We have surface lots that also utilize PaybyPhone for payments since you are already set up on the app.

While I realize that I inadvertently selected the wrong code & pair for the wrong location, I provided proof of payment for the correct location regarding the second citation issued. I showed the receipt indicating that the citation was issued within the two hour window for which I 100% paid for. I dont understand how you can look at the evident and receipt and tell me that I did not make a payment. I will print off whatever additional necessary evidence to support this claim.

Per your receipt for transaction that started at 11:01 am you paid Diamond Parking for location *****. Easypark Alaska has no affiliation with ***************. We could not verify an active paid parking session and did not receive payment for your time parked from 11:00am to 11:40am when the citation was issued. Your other parking session for location 5919 is an Easypark parking transaction and show that your parking expired at 11:00am on 07/31/2024. I received a ticket on my car in September 2023. I appealed the ticket and was denied. I was told by Easy Park that I could go to court. I requested to go to court in writing and verbally. Their job is to get me a court date with the courts in the ***************. They refuse to do their job. It is now April 2024 and I have been waiting for over 6 months. My case was sent to collections and they are trying to make me pay a bunch of extra fees on top of the ticket. Easy Park refuses to answer the phone most of the time, I've been into their office several times and every time I'm told that I will receive a phone call from the person in charge of court dates. Has that ever happened? No, not one single time. They refused to call me back, they refused to put me on the schedule for a court date. They just want my case to go to collection so they can get more money from me. They are completely unethical and they're not doing their job properly in purpose in order to get more money. I'm wondering if they work on commission and they get a cut of the ticket money or the collections money, because otherwise why would it be so difficult to get a court date for a simple ticket??Business Response

Citation ********* for Muni Code 9.30.155.A for front/rear plate missing/improper & ********* for Muni Code 9.30.230 - studded tire out-of-season were issued on 09/14/2023 by an ********* ***************** Officer. Your appeal was denied because the officer had sufficient evidence of each violations. We did offer you a mediation option to pay a reduced fine, which you declined. We changed our operating system in October and your citations were sent to collections in error, they have been removed from collections. Any fees have also been removed as they were added in error during our system conversion.
You requested a court hearing on 09/29/2023 after your appeals were denied. We requests for court hearings are processed in the order in which they are receive. Traffic court scheduling is not controlled by Easypark. An assigned court date can take anywhere from 2 - 12 months to be scheduled. During COVID there were no court dates scheduled and we spent most of 2023 working through a backlog from 2019-2022. Hearings are scheduled on the third Wednesday of any given month. During the last quarter of every year from October-December, the courts do not schedule any hearings.
We do not make a commission or have anything to gain while your appeal awaits a court hearing. There were errors that occurred during our system conversion and we apologize for the inconvenience and confusion this caused you. Once your hearing date has been scheduled we will notify you in writing.

I am rejecting this response because: I have yet to receive the refund check. They could refund my credit card in seconds, but they wanted me to come pick up the check (and pay for parking?) Easy Park should take responsibility to properly train vendors in how to validate a ticket. They should also be able to believe customers and offer a refund when the evidence is clear. They charged my card and they can issue a card refund.

This entire process is onerous and I believe the company purposefully does this to collect as much money as possible, hoping that people won't take the effort to right the wrong. The conference organizers did confirm the parking charge, and EasyPark has still not issued a refund.

Our Customer Relations Manager was in contact with ****** via e-mail throughout the entire refund request process. The ****** was at a private event that the vendor of the event offered to pay for attendees parking. Free parking was not offered by EasyPark. The event vendor is responsible for the validation process and the charges. It appears the ****** may not have had her parking ticket validated prior to exiting the parking garage therefore a payment was due as parking services were used. The ****** requested a refund through EasyPark and was informed that we needed confirmation from the event vendor that they would accept the charges before EasyPark could complete the refund process. The ****** was encouraged by our customer relations department to reach out to the vendor responsible for the offer of free parking to resolve the issue. The vendor replied on Monday 04/01/2024 and a refund check was promptly processed and confirmation was sent to the ****** via email.Initial Complaint

I have paid the ticket to prevent the prices from sky rocketing and having creditors on me. I would still like to continue this complaint. I should not be charged for their malfunctioning machines.

January 14. **** I at 6:30 PM on a Sunday I received a parking ticket from EasyPark in *********. I was cited for not center on a single meter and parked on red cub, adjust bumper to meter. Problem is the car behind me was moved too far forward and I could not fit into the designated parking spot centered because he was out of place. This was totally ridiculous and later I saw "Easypark" at another location in ********* walking and kicking snow off the curb to expose paint and perhaps write tickets to others. All this is not meant for any safety, just a money making scam by EASYPARK. I tried to have my ticket adjusted and the person writing tickets said I was illegally parked behind him, (he was parked in a loading zone) and that he was going to write me another ticket. On 11/3/23 I parked at a parking meter in downtown *********. I made payment via credit card but it had been a long time since I've used their meters and something didn't seem right. To be careful I checked the adjacent meters and saw similar screens and since I noticed during my examination that my meter had a flashing green light and the others weren't, I assumed my payment had gone through. When I returned to my truck approx an hour later I found a parking citation on my window. I had done my due diligence and thought payment had gone through. Who could have imagined three meters all next to each other would be malfunctioning. When I challenged the citation they blew me off and I feel that I'm being penalized for their broken equipment when I thought I'd paid properly. How many other folks are getting penalized due to their excessive amount of broken equipment and reasonable misunderstandings regarding payment?Initial Complaint

ON 8/19/2022 I RECEIVED A PARKING TICKET #************, OFF L ST. SIDE ROAD. I PUT MONEY IN THE METER AND NOTICED NO LIGHT CAME ON, BUT IT TOOK MY ****. GOOD FOR 2 HOURS. WHEN I CAME OUT, I HAD A TICKET, I CALLED RIGHT AWAY, SHE SAID NO WORRY, JUST TO E-MAIL, SO I DID THAT DAY. GOT A LETTER, SO I TRIED TO CALL, IMPOSSIBLE TO SPEAK TO A PERSON. LEFT MESSAGES. THEN GOT A LETTER FROM CORNER STONE FOR *****. EASY PARK GOT THERE MONEY FOR MY PARKING, IT WAS IN THERE MACHINE, ******* NOT GIVE MONEY BACK. AND NOW THEY WANT *****, AND NO CARES TO TALK TO ME OR HEAR WHATS GOING ON . THIS IS NOT OK, EASY PARK IS STEALING AND HAVING CORNER STONE GET THE MONEY FOR THEM, EVEN IF ITS WRONG.
