Its nurses week and you know what I received? Being ignored by RxBenefits insurance about my own medicine. I spent an hour dealing with it on Tuesday trying to get it handled with a promise to have it resolved in 48 hours. 48 hours later no call and I call them back. Then I call them back Thursday afternoon. I spend over an hour on the phone with multiple people and get someone else who promises to have me called back the next morning or day , still not a response at 430pm today. I called at 438 pm today and I have been on the phone ever since trying to get someone to help me before they close on the weekend. Yall, I work 40 plus hours already and then I have two kids. I have spent 6 hours being on hold or talking to someone about my issue with no resolve. I am currently still on hold with someone as I speak. I had an item missing from my amazon order and within 15 minutes that problem was resolved. RXbenefits company handles peoples medications and health daily and can not even fix an issue from Tuesday-Friday. Its disgusting how we get treated by a company who we pay. I asked the Lady if they had someone on call for more emergent matters to be handled and she stated no. Seems a little silly that they handle a matter so serious but do not have someone who can make important decisions on call. They literally just said can this not wait until Monday?! I said absolutely not because I have waited since Tuesday, and its unacceptable. Im sure I am not the only person who has been treated this way, and it breaks my heart.Initial Complaint

I have been prescribed semaglutide by my doctor after trying other medications for (among other things) pre-diabetes, PCOS, insulin resistance, and metabolic disorder. I had a prior authorization approved prior to June 1 of this year. Then, I received a letter stating that this company had decided that they would no longer cover Ozempic without a diabetes diagnosis. They also say they cover wegovy however, no one at rx benefits can explain to anyone at a retail pharmacy how to get the copay to work the way they say it does. I have filed three prior authorization requests with them, all have been denied (one was denied exactly ONE HOUR after I filed it for wegovy, stating that the medication is covered. It is not covered, and will cost me $1,500+ per month). This is absolute mismanagement and blatant misinformation to try to save this company money, all at the cost of the health of patients. I have extensive notes regarding all of my interactions with this company - including being left on hold for an hour in the hopes I would disappear and go away. I have never experienced anything this blatantly dishonest before in my life, nor have I experienced gaslighting like this since my previous marriage. If my doctor has decided that a medication is what I need, and other meds have been tried and failed, then that medication should be covered, full stop. However somehow this company, with no experience with my medical anything, gets to arbitrarily decide that I cannot have the medication I need to feel better - nevermind that I was on this same medication for months prior to it being taken from me which has messed up my recovery and treatment like you wouldnt believe. Just the losing of my prior authorization requests and the denial with no review alone should be enough to get a close look by the office of patient protection in *************.Customer Answer

Hello - I would like to add to my complaint that I received a call today at 3:30 from RX Benefits. ********************* left a message and told me to call back, and make sure I asked for her. I called three times. The first time, I was told ******* would be calling me back 'right away'. That was at 4:36pm today. I called again, 10 minutes later, then again at 5pm. Those two times, I was told they couldn't transfer me, and could they help me. The third call, the woman on the line would only ask me for my member number - even after I had given her my member number.Yet another example (three, actually) of this company not actually caring about the patients they are supposed to be 'managing' prescriptions for. I do not want this company to come back and say they tried to reach me and could not, when I tried three times to get *********** on the line on the same day she called me and left a message.Thank youInitial Complaint

I have been on a high-dollar medication for 6 years. In May 2022, RxBenefits issued an authorization valid for 1 year for me to continue this medicine for one year. Now that it is 2023, they have denied my medication as the doctors notes do not document benefit from the medication. Clearly if it is continuing to be prescribed, where is the confusion?I understand their role is to save the insurance company money on prescriptions, however they are causing undue detriment to patients by creating unnecessary barriers to accessing health care.Initial Complaint

My company insurance is through ********** Blue Shield of *********. The prescription coverage is provide through Caremark. Recently they changed companies for prescription approval to RX Benefits. This company required a prior authorization for a medication that has been prescribed by 3 different physicians for over 9 years straight. The medication controls certain values found on a blood test snd my general health and well being. They denied coverage because they requested current blood test results which show the medication is working and all blood values are normal. They say they need my original blood tests that show abnormally low values to be able to approve this prescription. Those tests occurred back in 2013 or 2014. The original physician has since retired which makes getting those records extremely difficult to impossible. The only way to replicate this test is to be off the prescribed medication for a couple months which is dangerous to my health and well being. I have never been denied coverage for this medication until RX Benefits decided to do so. This seems almost criminal to me. It is an insurance company basically saying that 3 different physicians were wrong to prescribe me this medication for the last 9 years. Apparently they think they know more about treating me and what medications I should or shouldnt be taking than my own personal physicians.Initial Complaint

The company I work for recently switched to this company for prescription coverage. Absolute worst company ever. They refuse to cover medication I've taken for years, including depression and diabetes medication. Definitely a suspicious company
