If I could give 0 stars, I would. My water bill is more expensive than my power bill every month. Have had them re-read the meter to me and my neighbors having outrageous water bills. I'm single, live by myself, and am hardly ever home due to work. My mother (who lives in a different county in AL) water bill is $50.00 less than mine each month, with 4 people in household, and she does multiple loads of laundry every day. I have called them to ask why is it so high. They said it's $30.00 just to have a meter every month, as well as they are not in charge of sewer price. They told me my bill of $90.00 a month is cheap. I have no idea what they are charging other people, and I don't wanna know. I'm not showing with Smart Water, it's 'city punch', and should be charged accordingly.

The Senior Citizens in Birmingham, AL are being double charged by the Birmingham Water Works, which is resulting in them losing a significant portion of their income. The company claims that the meter was not read correctly, and as a result, they had to reread the meter. Additionally, they are charging the senior citizens for a month they have already paid for, stating that they used more water than what was read by the meter reader..Birmingham Waterworks can provide raises to their employees without resorting to robbing senior citizens or customers. Customers deserve fair and better service. I would appreciate it.

Bwwb is full of it..they knows exactly what they are doing. Customers knows how much they pay each month, how much water and sewer they used, to get slapped in the face for a huge amount that is doubled or tripled than the normal amount for one month bill and expect customers to pay it, its ashame. The first thing they will tell you is theres a leak somewhere or something is wrong with your toilet, sooooo out of no where, where did all of this come from??? NO LEAKS exist or to be found then what??? No explanation!!! you still have to pay the bill. They make every excuse and expect for us to believe it, we dont have dumb or stupid written across our forehead. Making arrangements doesnt resolve the problem because you still have to pay the bill. They are very rude and dont care just a bunch of crooks in the building finding ways to get over on customers and being successful doing it, smh. What they should have done is start fresh with everyone bill. Some customers received credit, a lot of us didnt and then they had the audacity to increase usage and threaten to shut off customers water. Give us a break, we sure do deserve it

Birmingham water works remained services after two years of me complaining to them telling them I dont live at an old address anymore. I finally get my 2nd house in Birmingham bill was ***** . I started reaching out about my bill . Come to find out these people still had my name on the water bill, which left me paying over **** dollars to keep my water on with 4 kids. My oldest passed away I explained to them about there mistake keeping water on at 2 houses in my name she said oh well I still got to pay it . A agency paid **** of my bill now they are threatened to turn off for 266 after all that money . I dont see fault on my end . I really need to see who to talk to .

Over the past few months my water bill has continued to increase double and triple the amount I have paid in the past. I requested to have my meter reread only to be told that its correct and was told that the reading was correct. I also spoke with a representative about having a technician come out and check for leaks and that hasnt happened yet. Something needs to be done about *** overcharging customers.

Birmingham Water Works is apparently having some billing issues. I live alone and do not wash my car, water the lawn or use excess water for anything. Yet I have received bills for more than $**0. I have requested the meter be reread only to be told the bill is correct. My bills have tripled in the last few months and I live on a fixed income. How am I supposed to pay these amounts? And to add insult to injury, the BWWB has the audacity to pass an increase!

Birmingham Water Works is gouging me. They did work on my street and my water bill went from $*** a month to $*,*** per month. I have been to the Water Works in person and cannot get anyone to focus on the issue and they just keep charging me these astronomical amounts each month. Is there anyone that can help with this? I am a very disappointed and frustrated consumer.

On August 16, 2022 I put in a transfer of service from one location to another, uploaded my lease and received an email confirmation. On September 21, 2022 I got home and my water was turned off. I had received a check from BWW for about $***** and assumed that it was from the jacked up billing issues. I called after hours customer service and was told that on Sept 9, 2022 I called and requested that service be disconnected and I approved the refund - I ABSOLUTLEY DID NOT!!!!!!!!!
Once BWW opened, I called and was told that there was not a transfer request and that the address I am at has been flagged for using water without a contract. Now they need me to show up in person with my lease and photo ID because "someone has to be responsible for the usage from August 11th to current"
The most unaccommodating, overbilling useless utility company I have ever dealt with in my life.

      I got a surprise bill.
I hv always just called and ask what I owe and just pay it over the phone but last Monday I got what seemed a double bill. I called. I was informed they had not read my meter for many months and was est it. The bill was the difference. ??
I’m on disability. I hv a budget. I hv been paying what they told me too.
I don’t know how to get up ***** more dollars. Cost are rising so fast I can’t afford to eat any more then Friday I got three more bills. What in this world!??? I called again.
Lady told me just worry about the ***** one right now. That’s nice but where am I to get that? I get paid on the 3rd with my disability and I hv power/ water/ house/ house ins/ car ins/ my medication/ gas to go to the dr’s/ that’s not even talking eating.
That little check only goes so far. If I was able to work I would.
Till I got disabled I had worked all my life and put into the system. ( ever since I was 13 years old)
      Is there a program?
I guess I need to apply for food stamps/
      Just pray for me.
I don’t see my way out of this mess and I just paid what I was told to pay.
