This company TERRIBLE! They are nothing but an incompetent clown act. None of the techs/proctors seem to know what they're doing. It will take you hours to get connected to your exam, if you're even able to and then you better hope you don't get shut off mid-exam. Testing is stressful enough already without all the added stress that this company causes.ProctorU

This company is HORRIBLE!!!! If your school uses this platform, run and find another school. If you are a school and considering this platform, please find another platform. Save your students the stress and gastric ulcers this platform will cause. They are slow and 99% of the techs have no idea what they are doing. Do NOT even think about calling customer support because they are no help at all. This company is a rip off and needs to be sued!ProctorU

If I could give 0 I would, I am a *** graduate student and before my exam I couldnt get in was hung up on twice and then couldnt get in absolutely unprofessional and horrid.ProctorU

1 starAbsolutely asinine. I spent 2 1/2 hours of them going through my computer to set it up. Start me on a test but it froze so they restarted my computer three times I even talked to management supposedly and I had many different IT and ******* people having me redo the same stuff that I have already done with the previous one and I never even got to start my test. I went through different types of lockdown browsers without any issues but this one takes the cake. I dont understand what their incompetence is, but its beyond ridiculous. I am trying to take a test that is required for my graduation. That is a two months away, but doesnt count towards my grade or my ability to graduate Thats f****** confusing I tried to reschedule it of course told me that I couldnt reschedule because I had missed my scheduled time even though I was there before my scheduled time, but their technicians took so long without actually doing anything that I missed my time I had to go through them again to try to figure out how to reschedule since they messed it up that was a nightmare and itself Separate shoeReview fromFurious S

1 starIf I could give a zero star rating I would. The guardian browser is absolutely garbage. I just sits there and spins, never loads properly. It will freeze in the middle of an exam and they count that as a failed attempt. When you do speak to someone about the issues they become hostile and aggressive when you rebuke their claim that the problem is "connectivity issues" from my pc and router. I strongly urge any company to not use ProctorU. They are clearly the lowest bidder and the results are shown through there inferior technology and atrocious customer service.Review fromKe M

1 starI have had an awful experience with ProctorU so far. I haven't even scheduled my test yet - the process for getting assistance with testing my equipment was like pulling teeth. The live chat option directed me to articles that I had already read and offered no solutions for my problem. When I reached out through their "non-urgent" contact channel, I was told to "be rest assured that we have live technicians who can assist you" and then my ticket was closed without my permission or a resolution to my issue. Once I got in touch with a real person, I agreed to give them "remote control" of my screen so that they could provide assistance. They just tested my equipment from their end without telling me what they were doing or explaining how to fix the issue I had that was originally preventing me from testing. This included them turning on my webcam without letting me know that they were going to do so - luckily I was "decent," but the invasion of privacy without notice was jarring. Multiple times during the "remote control" assistance process I received the same answer (with the exact same wording) that had nothing to do with the question I asked (about a download speed that was too slow). Communication was so difficult, that I wonder if they are hiring tech support that does not speak English and and so provide them with pre-prepared, scripted responses. I sincerely hope that ProctorU's bad customer service does not affect my ability to take my test on exam day and I will be advising my professor and institution that they do not use this service in the future.Review fromLisa J

1 starThe absolute worst experience Ive had in my educational career. I have spent the last three hours trying to take an exam and have gotten nowhere, but have come so close so many times. ProctorU is successful in motivating me to withdraw from this specific course and I will not enroll in another that utilizes it going forward. 1 starWell, tried to take Chem 101 mid-term, day of exam, one ******* asked me to grant them remote access to my laptop, told them I was not comfortable with that since it was not part of the exam instructions or requirements. I then got transferred to a different ******* who then asked me to provide an external webcam, so they could see my hands at all times, not something that was put out by the institution's instructions for the exam, nor the information provided by proctoru via the Blackboard link in the course section. The ******* ended my session because I did not comply with "required" equipment. Spent the next 10 days going back and forth my instructor/school over being able to reschedule the exam since it was past the window of the exam, since it was not a fault of my doing. Finally get permission to retake almost 2 weeks later, the proctoru wants me to pay for the exam fees again, stating the reason the initial session was cancelled due to not having proper "required" equipment, which my instructor had to email ProctorU's technical division to get that sorted out, they finally agree to apply the fees I paid for the initial exam session to the reschedule. Day of reschedule, I'm logged in, open session and their browser( Guardian which you have to use ****** Chrome to use) isn't working correctly, exam will not load, again, I'm asked for remote access, I deny, then I'm transferred to a technician ******* that says if I will not grant remote access, then they will not allow me to take the exam even though the issues are with their server. At this point, I've dealt with enough stress and aggravation dealing with proctoru that I'd rather fail the course and switch to a different school that does not use proctoru for it's online student exams, that's how bad my experience has been, and I was in the Army for 12 years, you learn to put up with a lot of junk, but this has been too much for me.ProctorU is a scam in my opnion and should not be used by any decent schools.Review fromNatalia L

1 starI've used ProctorU 4 times: twice, the service was not great, once it was ok and this last time it was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. It took me 1.5 hours to connect to my exam which resulted in a very frustrating experience that completely threw me off and nearly sabotaged all of my preparation. The instructions stated to use a specific browser, which I installed and tested in advance. The day of the exam, the connection to the video/audio feed kept malfunctioning - tech issues - no big deal - I'm an IT professional so I don't typically get too flustered. However, it's the service that left me completely frustrated. I kept getting bounced around in a never-ending loop between 3 different proctors and 2 tech support agents. The proctors had zero communication skills, not talking through what was happening, leaving me staring and waiting for a simple response on the chat for long periods of time. The new proctors did not read the chat thread and were clueless as to what was happening. Transferring me to support which took 15 minutes each time, this went on for 75 minutes. When I asked to escalate the issue, they either ignored, refused or transferred me to another queue without warning. I wasn't even sure if I'd get to write the exam at all, having to pay for a course extension. In the end they just switched to using Chrome - wtf! Why bother forcing people to use a c*** browser and their resource-taxing video feed application? Essentially, ProctorU outsourced their staff to an organization that has untrained, incompetent staff who have no communication skills and there is no way for the users to flag issues with the process. I will not use this service again and would highly advise anyone to just take exams in-person if you can. The only portion of ProctorU that works great is the portal for scheduling/rescheduling exams. Everything else is complete garbage.
