Lack of honesty Lotus did an estate sale for me 9/28 through 9/30. The sale went okay, workers were good and pricing adequate. However, the honesty of the owner was not good. There was an option of paying $250 for all things left after the sale to be packed up and sent to the charity of my choice, which is ** I felt good about the fact ****- would be getting contributions of thousands of dollars from my sale. Afterwards I had reasons to believe my contributions did not go to ***** but the Lotus owner assure me at least twice that they went there. When I told her ******* said they received nothing from my sale, I asked where did my things go. She fianally said they went to a thrift store in ******. I found they went to **** in ******, a privately owned, for profit thrift store. She said they did not go to ******because they are closed on Monday, Backroads is also closed on Monday. This makes a person wonder how widespread this practice is by Lotus Estate Sales. How many times has this happened and people never knew. ****** got cheated and so did I. If you use Lotus I recommend not to allow a lock box, especially after the sale. Do not pay $250 for sending to the charity, have the charity come pick it up.

The Sale did go well, the remaining items were to go to the ************  The contractor said they were not open on Monday (clean out day) and would not accept a delivery.  They took items to another thrift store.  ******************* asked where items went, I assumed they went to The ************  I did ask contractors, and was given name of store. I have obtained a tax receipt for *******************, as well as a detailed list of items taken there. ******************* has also been to the store and has photographed them.  I have apologized for this.  Bottom line though is items were slated for charity, and although they didn't go where we asked, they did go to a charity.  I have not been dishonest at all.
