    * Date of Service 2-29-2024 * Paid $121.83 on 2-29-24 * Dr **** committed to successfully removing chalazion from my sons eyelid * Nature of dispute- Incomplete procedure performed by Dr **** and unprofessional Dr **** was in the procedure room a total of 5 minutes. Dr **** came in quick, made one pass at the chalazion, I could see it still in the eyelid so I said " you did not get it all". ******** turned her back to me, stood up and left the room. The assistant, ***** *****, said " She got everything she needed to". They refused to acknowledge or address my concern. At home we followed care instructions. I again contacted the nurse to report it was not removed, she requested pictures, i sent pictures and she agreed it had not all been removed. steroid or him to come back. I told her after the trauma they caused my son and the incomplete procedure we will not be back. I requested a refund and told them I do not feel I owe anything further. i was transferred to a managers voicemail. I left message and waited for return call. She was not nice and informed me the only option was to come back, I explained my child had been traumatized and we will not be back. I asked for email. I have emailed multiple times to resolve this matter and the have yet to respond. I called again today and spoke to ****** who was not in the room during the procedure and answered my call with an attitude stated Dr **** preformed the procedure properly and everyone in the office is aware of who I am and they will not be giving me my money back and that I owe the billed amount of $166.68. Daily verified she was not in the room during the procedure. I asked to speak to ***** and was told she is busy. I asked for her statements in writing in email, she told me she is too busy but she will later. She said " you are welcome to try to get your money back some other way but we will not be giving it to you. She didn't even take my email information. ****************** refuses to resolve issue

    Business Response

    Date: 11/15/2024

As part of the evaluation of the patients chalazion during the clinic visit, the patient stated these symptoms occur all the time suggesting that this was possibly a chronic, reoccurring problem.  On the day of the procedure, Dr. **** covered instructions with the patient, such as, risks and benefits of the procedure, alternatives and to "return to the clinic if there were problems or no improvement".  Any medical procedure cannot be guaranteed 100% of the time, especially for potentially chronic conditions, and may require follow-up care, as was this case unfortunately.  To state that the chalazion was not entirely removed during the procedure would be difficult to claim since the lid was swollen from being injected with ********* and having a clamp placed on it. Whether this was a re-occurrence of the same or new chalazion cannot be determined since the patient was advised to follow back up in the office with Dr. ***** as previously instructed, but was refused by the parent.  While any patient always has the option of seeking another physician or other services if they are unsatisfied, it does not negate the fact that the services were performed by Dr. **** during the procedure.
