February 6,2023 My name is ***********************. I want to file a complaint against *************************** of *****'s garage for unfair trade practice and inflated prices. In early 2020 I put my **** ******************** Glide convertible in his shop to mount a new custom painted tank w/ gauges to be installed. After months and months, I called, and he said he could not figure out how to mount the new tank and wanted to send it to a place in ****** called area 51. I told him I would prefer a place in Enterprise but he was adamant that it would go to area 51. Again, it was months of calls. They told me to mount the new tank kit would cost ******** or ******* to repair and remount the old tank. When I called **********************, he said he could remount and fix the old tank for much less than a thousand. And he went and picked it up and brought it back to his shop. I called every few weeks for months always being told it would be done in a couple weeks. I asked to get the custom tank kit back so I could sell it for the repairs. When I got to the shop ********************** informed me (as he had before) that my bike was rare, and they had not made many of them. He said that he was still looking for a fuel gauge for the tank, I asked where the old one that was on it was and he said he didnt know, but it would be done in a couple of weeks. I asked him then what it was going to cost. Exact words were it will come in right at ******. That was months ago. I called a couple of times and was told in a couple of weeks it would be done. In Feb. I called and asked for an itemized bill. They emailed me the enclosed bill for 1278.00.I called and was told that of course he did not say at 850 but between 850 and not more than *******. I asked if he would talk to my friend about this, he refused and told me he was doing me a favor. I told him that it had been there 2+ years and he wouldnt budge. He repeatedly reminded me it was a rare bike and wont talk to my friend (who is a certified bike mechanic) who has called 3 times.Still, I am told the bike is not ready and that they are waiting on it because the gauge has not come in. He is charging me for a new battery, when if in the 2 years he has had it and if kept it on a trickle charger would be still good. I was especially worried about the ****** for the tank beading and lining. Seems rather much according to my friend it is too much. And ****** for a gauge when it had one on it when he got it. I agree that he is due some money. But I feel like he is trying to keep my bike. I just want my bike back. I have sold my tank for 850 but I am senior on a very limited income not to mention a woman. I feel like I am being scammed and taken advantage of. And ********************** is being unreasonable and unfair to keep my bike. I also asked about the kurakkan speakers that were in the box with my cirrus radio that was with the tank kit, but the box and speaker were not. When I called, he said they were on the bike. I have not seen them to date. But in all this time I have never abandoned my bike. I may have lax for a while after the death of my mom and nephew, but I have maintained insurance and tags the entire time Thank you, ***********************

    Business Response

When this motorcycle came to Pinkys, there was not a Guage on it. ************* gave me a box of parts. I explained to her there was no Guage in the box. I never gave her a definite price because I was not sure how much the Guage would be. I have looked for 2 years for this Guage. Several times, companies have said they had the Guage, but turned out to be the wrong one. Her motorcycle is rare and no shop can just call a parts store and order this part. They don't make it anymore. She was given a price with the Guage I thought we found the last time, but when it turned out to be wrong it was taken of her invoice total without that part is ********. I do not feel as though ************* was wronged in any way, but to resolve this issue I have told her she does not have to pay me anything for the work I have done. She just needs to pick her motorcycle up. Basically she is getting free work and this amounts to her getting mad because she couldn't pay her bill. The last contact my company had with ************* before this was when she called and said she was having a gentleman call in to pay the bill. He never did. Then we got this complaint.
