I purchased a Bad Boy ZT Elite in August of 2023 it did well the first end of Summer, used maybe 2 months in 2023. In 2024 the mower broke belts on the first cut of season, then the clutch went out, dealership fixed under warranty, adjusted the deck. Mower did okay rest of season, blades still kept stopping, but adjusted belts to keep working. First cut of 2025, belts broke, mower stopped moving. Talked to dealer. Not under warranty, did not receive call back. Replaced belts again. Cut 1 time and blades keep stopping when in heavy brush, notice fan on motors are tore up from belts breaking I assume. Feel like this mower is a lemon! Would like to get another mower. Ot confidant in this mower any longer. If it breaks this much when new, how much worse will it get the older it gets.

    We spoke with the dealership,
and they just replaced the clutch and any pulleys making noise on *** *******
mower under warranty. I am unsure what *** ****** is referring to as “heavy
brush”, but this mower is a residential mower designed for cutting grass and
    not heavy brush.

Purchased 42” SD stand on mower in August/sept of last year. This lawnmower has had a broken parking brake, that left my guy stranded. This unit alone had had the parking brake adjusted 4 different times. After having the unit a for a short period of time the pto stopped working. No one told me that there was a recall for the pressure sensor on the plate. Once again down and not running. I was given the wrong blades 5 times for this unit from the dealership. The choke cable is now sticking, the tac and hour meter goes in and out. The unit had roughly 80 or so hours on it now it just reset itself to .1 hours. No way of knowing how many hours are actually on the unit after tac went out. I was told even putting a new one in hours will be off. Other than the motor and the hydros this unit has done nothing but cause me downtime. I would like a unit replacement, seeing that I have bought the rebel x 61 and the cab tractor plus the bushhog for my business I believe I have spent enough money on bad boy equipment for them to make this right. I purchased all my equipment from Loves equipment in Homasassa.

    We have spoken with the
salesmen in that area concerning *** ******* issues. He stated that he has
spoken with *** ******* previously and even provided a loaner to him to use
while his mower was being worked on. He even left it there in case he needed it
again. One of the issues with the brake is that *** ******* does not strap the
mower down on the trailer while traveling and it moves around. Our salesmen are
contacting the dealership to update them concerning these issues and the
complaint. He stated that the dealer was going to reach out to the customer and
try and work out a deal on a different mower.

I bought a BadBoy 60 inch Maverick HD mower from J5 inBuna Tx on 6-22-2024.I started have issues with the belt shredding & breaking constantly. The mower was in & out of the shop for over 2.5 months,I even had a company rep come an look at it in January. Once I got it home a few days after he had looked at it and gave his recommendations. The belt did come off again and I did send the sales person. The company rep and warranty department a video of this.. it clearly states in their warranty claims that if an issue persists & can’t be fixed that a replacement will be offered. They are giving me the runaround.I talked to them last Thursday and they were in a meeting and we’re going to call me back to let me know what was going on.I haven’t heard from them since & I feel like I’m being taken advantage of & being ignored. I have given them more than enough time to stand by their warranty and try to make repairs and they have done neither one.I have all repair attempt paperwork from different repair shops with no results reached.Thanks.

Mower caught on fire, sent to the Jacksonville FL dealership in Aug 2024, they cannot get parts for repair til Dec (estimate). Dealer blamed the fire on the owner operating incorrectly, totally false. We do not recommend Bad Boy mowers. Customer support is disgraceful.

    Business Response

    Date: 10/29/2024

We spoke with the dealership and as stated they believe the repair is not a warranty issue. They are waiting on a couple engine parts that are currently on back order with the engine manufacturer. We will work with them to try and locate the parts through a different source if possible.

I am rejecting this response because:  The unit caught fire which could have resulted in serious injury.  There is a problem with this product, which the dealership and manufacturer are attempting to blame on the operator.  Hogwash, this is a design fault and shortfall.

    Sincerely,

    **** *** ******

    Business Response

    Date: 11/04/2024

I am sorry that *** *** ****** disagrees with the assessment from the dealership that the customer caused the damage. We rely on what our dealers determine since they have hands-on experience with the mower. None of the pictures or conversations with the dealership indicated this was an engine malfunction. We found housing from one of our engines that we sent to the dealership to install on the mower until the new housing is shipped from the engine manufacturer. It is not a part we carry in inventory. This will allow the customer to use the mower until then and reduce the downtime waiting on parts.

Bought a bad boy rambler 42" in May and have had nothing but issues with it. I just had a bolt sheer off while mowing, have had to replace belts on it, has always cut uneven, fuel line issue, etc...

We located *** ********* mower serial number using the transaxle serial number he provided. However, this mower has never been registered for warranty, and there are no notes in the system regarding it.
There are three dealers within 20 miles of his zip code. We have emailed him the addresses and phone numbers of these dealers, enabling him to reach out for assistance with his mower. Additionally, we will request his sales information to register the mower for warranty repair. If needed, we will collaborate with the dealership to address any issues he is experiencing.

Bought my 54" Bad Boy Maverick Zero Turn mower in Aug. '22 from ***** ****** Tractor in Russellville, AR. After two days of mowing, it was throwing the belt off and cut the belt in two. I took the mower back to ***** ****** - they replaced the belt. It worked for a couple of days - but then threw the belt off and cut it in two again. Took back to ***** ****** - who called Bad Boy - Bad Boy told them to put on a double pully for the fix. It worked for a couple of days - then the replacement bolt holding the pully broke. Bad Boy took the mower to Batesville, AR for another fix. After apx, a month Bad Boy brought it back stating it was fixed. It ran a couple of days - then had the same problems (threw belt and broke bolt holding the pully). Returned to ***** ****** several more times with the same issue.....they tried to fix - but the problems continued. ***** ****** kept the mower for 2-4 weeks each time they tried to fix. ***** ****** stated that I keep adjusting the deck below specifications. I AM NOT!! I do not know how to lower the deck. The deck has wheels on it - so it cannot go below specification.
Next, I tried ******** ******* in Blackwell, AR - as they said they could fix it. They put another double pully on - which worked for a couple of months - then it threw the belt, and broke the bolt holding the pully. The issues continue. I took the mover back to ******** ******* several more times. Previous fixes were covered by the warranty. They now are charging me due to the warranty expiration. However, the original issue has never been fixed.
******** is now saying they can't find a warranty from Bad Boy on the tractor....or proof that I ever bought it. This is after ***** ****** and ******** have been working on it for over 2 years!! WOW!
I've contacted Bad Boy a couple of times a few months ago. They said they would contact ******** ******* to review and then call me back. They never did call me back.
    Documentation available upon request.

    Business Response

    Date: 10/17/2024

We sold this mower to *** ****** in Aug of 2022. He did bring the mower to us because it kept throwing the belt. Bad Boy took this mower to the factory to fix and gave him a loaner mower to use while they had his mower. ***** ****** Tractor has not had a repair order for this mower since July of 2023 and have not heard from since then. If he was still having a problem after Bad Boy repaired the mower then you would think that he would let us know that he still had a problem. If he has taken this mower to another dealer, then this should not be a ***** ****** Tractor complaint but rather a complaint with the last dealer to work on the unit. ***** ****** ******* cannot be responsible for customer complaints if we are not aware of a problem.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 10/31/2024

I have been dealing with the same issue since while my warranty was valid.  ***** ****** was who I paid to get this mower.  It has never been fixed regardless of where I have taken it.  The other shop cannot work on it any more due to the warranty being expired.

    (See attached documents.)

    Customer Answer

    Date: 11/13/2024

The warranty is with Bad Boy.

    Business Response

    Date: 12/04/2024

Looking through the warranty claims filed against this mower, there was a claim in January 2024 in which the dealership replaced a pulley to help with the customer's issue concerning belts coming off. He took it to them again in July, stating it was doing the same thing, but the dealership could not find an issue; the deck was checked for adjustments and belt tension. At that time, the mower was tested to ensure no problems and returned to the customer. To our knowledge, *** ****** has not contacted our service center with any complaints afterward.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 12/23/2024

Bad Boy's response stated that there was a claim on my tractor in January 2024. My tractor would not have been there as I do not cur during the winter.  I show no receipts during that time.  This tractor has been in the shop close to 20 times...but never in the winter months.

Bad Boy's response also stated that they had no record of claims since July 2024.  However, the tractor was in the shop at ******** ******* (in Blackwell, AR) in August 2024.  I was informed that it was no longer under warranty - so I had to pay out of pocket from a problem that has been ongoing since I bought the tractor.

This is my final attempt to resolve this issue with this back and forth communication.

I shouldn't have to pay for something that's been reoccurring since I bought the tractor.  I'm hoping we can resolve this without legal action.

    (see attached document)

    Business Response

    Date: 12/27/2024

The dates given in our previous response were pulled from
our warranty system which shows when a dealer has filed a claim against a
particular unit. The last claim submitted was from July of this year and there
was a claim submitted in January of this year by the dealer. If ******** ******* is where *** ****** is taking his mower for repairs, we will be more
than happy to contact this dealer and see if we can be of assistance in
    resolving this matter.

We wanted to make sure that our experience with the Bad Boy side by side Bandit would be shared so hopefully no one else will have to pay for something that has stayed in a shop with no answers for months . We purchasing a Bad Boy Side by side in 2-2022 from a local dealer in Coweta , Oklahoma . We had no issues with the side by side until the end of June of 2024 . The side by side would not start then it started and would not stay started . We called the local dealer and took it into the shop 6-2024 it was still under warranty . June 2024 came and went then July, August and now September we have called spoken with the repair person we have even went to the shop . 1st it was no previous issue with this type of side by side, so they said they waited on the Bad Boy company to send them a tester that came sometime in July of 2024, no that is not the issue . Then the repairmen said it was the brain, so they waited on that part , No that was not it , then when my husband went down to check on where they were he said well I think it has water in it !! My husband explained that it had not been in any water ever. So, it is 9-18-2024 and no word yet . I called the dealer repair shop yesterday left a message no call back yet .
We are still under warranty and making monthly payments on a product that I am not sure they know how to fix .
I would hope that the Bad Boy company would have more knowledge, and that knowledge passed on to their repair centers . I would like to say that we have had a Bad Boy Mower for 20 years it truly is the best mower we have ever had but I cannot say that about the Bad Boy Side by Side that we have purchased. Warning to all thinking about a new purchasing I would research the dealer and repair shop as much as the product .

    Business Response

We spoke with the dealership concerning this unit. When they received the Bandit, they found water in the intake and fuel system. They have removed the water, flushed the system, and dried everything out, and the Bandit is running correctly. Now that it is operational, they were able to troubleshoot the issue with the speedometer and have the parts in order. We have extended the warranty by four months to accommodate this customer's downtime.

I purchased my Bad Boy Rogue in May of 2021. At roughly 40 hours the deck belt broke. I took it to the dealer and they found a damaged pulley. After I got the mower home the belt would come off as soon as blades were engaged. I took it back to the dealer, and they could not get the belt to stay on the pulleys. They had to put 2 double stack pulleys on in order to get the belt to stay on. Since then I have broke 6 belts which are $90 a piece. I have carried it to the dealer and they have talked with Bad Boy service techs. They say that they can’t find anything wrong. I mow every 4 days so the grass doesn’t get too high. I also don’t let the mower get below 3,000 RPM when mowing. I have tried mowing with the deck in a higher setting so it doesn’t put as much angle on the belt, but it still breaks belts. I don’t mow when my grass is wet, and I blow the deck off after every time I mow. There is no way I am doing anything myself to make the belts break. I understand I am out of warranty but this has been happening since I still had warranty. Also, both drive pulleys fell off within the first 20 hours and the drive belt broke at 40 hours. The dealer has been helpful as they have tried reaching out to Bad Boy again, but they haven’t got a response.

    Dear *** *****
We apologize for the issue you're experiencing. Our records indicate a belt issue on 8/2/2022, but there haven’t been any reported problems since then. If you could take the mower to your dealer and have them reach out to us, we’d be glad to assist in resolving any concerns you have.

    Thank you for your understanding.

Purchased new tractor 4035CH with backhoe, dual rear remotes, third function and loaded tires from ********* ******* ***** in Lowell, MI in October of 2023. Machine had loud whine when I test drove it and dealer said it would go away when warm. Have had nothing but issues with tractor. Relief valve failed and flooded engine with hydraulic oil, over-pressuring the system. This caused catastrophic damage to loader arms, loader mounts, hydo pumps, dpf system, rear valves, injectors...it is one thing after another. I have emailed and emailed contacts at bad boy and have gotten no response. Even the territory manager quit calling me after the first initial contact. I have stated multiple times I do not want the machine back, I want the loan cancelled and my payments returned. I have made almost $7,000 in payments on this machine and it has been in the service center almost the entire time I have owned it. I don't have a loaner or anything. I have had to pay to haul it in every time I use it because it doesn't work right, I have had to hire other equipment to come in and do some of the work I purchased this machine to do. Additional $4,000 of out of pocket expenses to have this work done. Take the machine back, cancel the loan, give me my payments back. Sounds pretty simple to me.

Bad Boy has reached out to the consumer with a solution and will be arranging to retrieve the tractor from the buyer.

I’ve called “customer service” four times and have left a voicemail four times over the last week and a half. I have a simple question about the deck belt and NO ONE will return my call. Bad Boy is a very expensive mower company and I was told I’d have customer service available anytime before I bought the Elite 60” zero turn. I’m finding that I was lied to in order for me to buy their product. I would like someone from tech support to call me about my potential issue. If no action is taken, I’ll be forced to leave appropriate feedback about their customer support.
