Purchased 3/28/24 and paid approximately $3600. Purchased an extended warranty as well. Notions oil leak, the blade, drive belt and drive belt tension are all broken and snapped. 3 tires are flat. Contacted local bad boy and they refused my service because it was purchased at tractor supply. Contacted the warranty department at bad boy and the manager said he has the right to refuse service. I’ve made several attempts to get help from bad boy and they not only haven’t helped me, they have flat out denied me.

We tried to look *** ******** mower up in the registration database, but it appears it was not registered. Dealerships are independent businesses that set their own guidelines on what they will work on if it is not sold at the dealership. This could be because of a backlog in their own work or just a standard they adopted. We will e-mail the customer to get more information and see if we can assist with this situation.

i purchased a tractor from bad boys representative here in Missouri. i owned the tractor for 2 weeks when a stabilizer bar broke, because of a faulty, pouring of the metal ,which had contaminates in it, making it weak. i sent photos to the dealer and bad boy and was told they would send a replacement. but it was on back order. that was in the middle of january of 2024. i purchased it in the middle of dec. 2023. since then bad boy does not return my emails, and tells the dealer that its on back order. i just want the part, or 200 to get a different replacement. i may want them to just buy the tractor back so i can get one that will work for me. but i just want the part i was promised. the dealer they used was ******* ****** in festus, mo.

We regret that *** ********** had to wait so long to get his
part needed for the repair of his tractor. This particular part is on back
order from our vendor. We had our tractor service team remove this part from a
new in stock tractor we have here at the plant and had it sent to the
dealership on 4/25/24 since we could not get a good ETA when our parts shipment
    would arrive.

I bought a Bad Boy Rogue for $10,500 summer 2022 it is a 2021 model. I still only have 30 hours on it due to it being broken down and warranty repairs take so long. I’ve had my left hydro stop working. Got it fixed under warranty that took 8 weeks for the repair. Then the clutch pulley fell off and ripped the wire harness off. Took it to a different dealer for another warranty repair. Now the right pump pulley has fallen off. All of these problems with only 30 hours on the machine? I have requested my money back from Bad Boy but keep being advised that I need to take it to a dealer for more repairs.

    Business Response

We apologize for the inconvenience issues with his mower caused *** ********. At our customer service, we always strive to assist our customers to the best of our abilities; however, in this case, the issue requires further attention and needs to be looked at by a dealership. Although we tried to locate *** ********'s warranty registration in our database using his name or address, none was found. Therefore, we request that *** ******** provide us with the dealership's name and the person working on it or a phone number to contact and assist in expediting the repairs. Our team would be more than happy to help him resolve the issue further.

Bought a bad boy maverick mower 1/27/2022. Mower for this mowing season and seemed to work well. In the spring of 2023 I started my mowing season and snapped a belt. Replaced it with another bad boy belt. Snapped it. I called the warranty dept and spoke with them about it. I took the mower in to an authorized dealer per bad boy representative request to have it looked at. After several weeks I was told nothing was found wrong with the mower and I would be responsible for the bill of several hundred dollars. The mower had around 50 hours of service on it at the time. I mowed last year and seemed to be working well. I start this mowing season this morning and broke the belt again. After discussions with ****** and ***** in the warranty department for bad bow mowers I am repeatedly told the same thing as last year when I had the problem. Take it back to an authorized dealer and have them call our service technicians. This place is like a broken record. I was also again told belts only have a 90 day warranty($90 belt). Also told I am out of warranty. By several months although they didn’t cover it last year because supposedly there is no problem causing the 4 belts to break. The Lilly’s are fine, the spindles are fine, the belt tension is fine. But I am breaking belts still. I have 94.6 hours on the mower now and never received any warranty help from bad boy mowers. Do not buy these mowers, for 9,000 dollars go get one that works and has a good customer service/warranty department that will back what they make and sell. I understand that Texarkana holland where I purchased my mower doesn’t sell these mowers anymore…….hmmmm. 9000 dollar lesson learned. Can’t trust people or business’s much anymore. I guess I will have to pay to fix my mower again but I am thinking if they find nothing wrong with it as last year I am on a new ride. This problem should have been covered under warranty. It’s not the belts it’s something causing the breakage of them. Feel free to contact me before your bad boy purchase. ************.

While we are sorry that *** ******** has had these issues the reason nothing was paid on his belt claim is that the dealership did not find anything wrong with the mower. We do not have any previous warranty claims on this serial number. If there is something that is causing these belt failure issues, we would take care of it for the customer.

On July 6, 2023 I bought a BadBoy Rogue to mow my yard. I paid 11200 plus tax .The mower stops working while I am mowing and won't restart. It has to be taken to the Dealer, Central Arkansas Mahindra, to be worked on. They have not been able to repair it. It quit again today while I was mowing. The mower has 8.6 hours of use. I would like a new mower or my money back. I believe it is a lemon.

Purchased a Bad Boy Zero Turn and used it 5 times . It started vibrating and the motor oil blew over mower !!! I immediately called Tractor Supply Co in Ripley WV. And was told to called Bad Boy I immediately called the company in Arkansas and spoke with ****** in Warranty who was rude and combative ! I was given a list of 5 Repair Companies to have mower repaired at but when I called each of the companies I was informed that they no longer services for Bad Boy !!! I finally called a local Repair Company who checked the mower and found that 2 Bolts were missing from the mower causing the problem ! I immediately called ****** at BADBOY and was told that I needed to call Tractor Supply!!! The Rep for BADBOY in WV would not answer my calls or return my calls !!!!!

We had the V.P. of Warranty here at Bad Boy reach out to this customer on 7/10/2023 to see if we could do anything about the issues she described with her mower. When he connected and asked her if she could explain the issues to him, she stated that she had taken her mower to a mechanic due to an issue with the motor. She said she would pay the charges, sell the mower, and then contact the BBB. We then tried to gather information as to whom she took the mower, and the customer stated that "It's too late," and disconnected the phone call. We want to state that if the mechanic the customer took the mower to is not Kohler certified, this could void the manufacturer's warranty. There is a Kohler-certified mechanic 9 miles away from her location and another 24 miles away. We could not relay this information before her disconnecting the phone call. If the customer would like to call us back with the information needed for us to assist, we will try further.

I purchased a 2023 Bad Boy Maverick HD in March for $9,000. Within the first 15 hours the right drive motor wouldn’t pull. The lawn mower had to be taken back to the shop where I made the purchase. It was repaired and I brought it home for use. After using for about 10 hours the left drive motor wouldn’t pull. So I’ve had to take the mower back to the shop once again. This is the second time I’ve had to take time out of an already busy day and load up the mower to travel at least 15 miles for repairs. After taking it back to the shop today I noticed the right drive motor vent hose has been rubbing the drive belt. I also noticed that the air intake hose was rubbing the back panel. If this would’ve gone unnoticed it would’ve rubbed a hole and filled the engine with dirt. This is unacceptable for a product that cost this much and has ran less than 20 hours. I think Bad Boy should have a lemon law because apparently I have the biggest one in the bunch. They should buy this back so I could try a Rogue or a Rebel.

    Business Response

    Date: 07/12/2023

We spoke with the dealer concerning this mower. They have the replacement transaxle at the shop and are going to replace it. The angle of the fitting on the transaxle was slightly off on its angle and was moved to the correct angle as not to rub the belt. The air intake issue has been resolved. We are sorry that the customer has had these issues and we will take care to assure the mower is running correctly but do not feel that these issues justify buying back the unit so the consumer can purchase a larger unit.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response.made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and would like to thank them for standing behind their brand . But would like to also add that it was not about buying a bigger mower I just want one that stays together . This mower has been to to the dealership two times since I’ve owned it only has 20 something hrs . It cost me every time I drag it back to be worked on. Furthermore for its price I would think it would hold a little better . But thanks for standing by your product as you should.

    Sincerely,

    Kevin *********

Purchased a Maverick new from dealer in may of 2022. I use this just to mow the 3 acres at my house. From new the mower would throw the belt from time to time. I checked the tensioner and it was with in badboy specs. It wasn't ling and it threw the belt again. So i ordered a replacement belt. The second belt held up for a few months and it started to throw that belt too. I bought a third belt and i couldn't see a reason why it kept throwing the belt. The tensioner pulley and the idler pulley sit a little higher than the rest of the pulleys. So i called the closest dealer and scheduled a service. They told me my issues would be covered under warranty except belts are only covered for 30 days.

This mower will not fit on my trailer so i had to rent a trailer and drop it off and rent it again to pick it up. The dealer informed me when picking it up that bad boy denied the warranty claim and all this dealer did was put the new belt on. So it cost me $100 in labor, $90 for a new belt trailer rental all for them to do what i could do. This mower has less than 50 hours on it. I see now how bad boy treats their customers. Bad boy should refund me the labor and belt cost.

    Business Response

    Date: 06/21/2023

We reviewed the claim submitted by the dealership on 6/1/2023. The declaration states that the customer supplied a belt and that the work was to adjust the belt tensioner. Belt tension adjustments are considered routine maintenance. This should get checked periodically and especially after any belt placements. There are no notes in the system indicating this was an issue that started from the purchase dates.

    Business Response

    Date: 07/12/2023

The only notes on this mower are from June of 2023. the dealer had to adjust the tensioner at that time. This is considered routine maintenance and belts require periodic tension adjustments as well due to wear and stretching. When a new belt is placed it would also need adjustments. As per the warranty belts are only covered for 90 days after the purchase of the mower. This mower was purchased on 5/16/2022.

I am rejecting this response because: I see now it is not just a prolem with Badboy it is a problem with the dealer network. If this was the case then the dealer i bought the belt from and then later made the appointment should have informed me that if it is just a tension issue it would not be covered under warranty. When the dealer called me and told me how much the total was on the repair i replied i am still under warranty and they apologized and said they forgot to submit it to warranty and it was covered. Only to learn that wasnt the case when i picked it up.  So its clear the whole system sucks. A company that cared about its customers would have said, we understand your frustration but this isnt covered but as a 1 tine courtesy we will cover this. Thats how you get customers to return. I will not buy another bad boy mower.

    Sincerely,

    Chad *****

Ordered a Bad Boy Rogue with a 72” deck in the early spring of 2022 and received in the fall of 2022. Within the first 15 hours of mowing or so the deck belt came off the pulleys twice, then eventually broke while mowing average size residential grass. Called the dealer who thought the belt might just have been bad. Spring of 2023 the replacement belt also broke (20 hours). The dealer picked up the mower so they could see if they could find the mechanical issue. Dealer returned the mower and during the very next mowing the hydrostatic belt slipped the pulleys. The dealer picked up the unit again. I’m frustrated with the continuous breakdowns and being without the mower multiple times. . The dealer has been very supportive to me. The mower itself is the issue. I love this mower, the ride, and how well it cuts, but it just doesn’t run correctly.

We here at Bad Boy Mowers are sorry that ****** has been having an issue with this mower. We have looked into our records and, at this time, do not show a mower registered under this name; however, if the customer could send us the serial number and the dealership name she has been using, we will happily have one of our service technicians reach out to them and see if we can assist in any way getting her complaint resolved.

Renegade purchased new in February of 22. Problems with the deck staying level several times. Parts also had to be changed on deck level adjustment knob because it would drop a level. I purchased the first deck belt when it broke. Pulleys had to be adjusted. Pulley had to be replaced with 2 others bad at this time. Another belt broke today. Mower only has 120 hours. I think this is the third belt that breaks. Too much down time. Some was under warranty and dealer did other stuff in house
