Would never return. Money grabbers and unprofessional glorified nurse. I made total of 2 visit. First visit, Tara ********, APRN had me take urine test even though we had no contract with center at time. They charged my insurance for it and stated she could not find MRI that was sent to her. ( later confirmed by MRI clinic it was sent). So, pain treatment center charged my insurance company for its own mistake. On, second visit, my first urine test show what they stated as codeine in my urine. I informed them that it was 1 remaining pill from a previous doctor’s prescription and taken before any contract with them. It took me over 2 months to get the first appointment, then had to reschedule 3 more wks due to their incompetence. On my 2nd visit I made sure they confirmed all the necessary mri and test. At this visit they wanted to do spine injection and I informed them of issues I had previous with injection. I stated that I needed my primary doctor to approve it. ( same appointment I hear patient screaming while doing a injection) Also, they want me to start physical therapy which previous doctor advised unwise. Tara ********, APRN became increasingly offensive and stated all that i wanted want pain medicine. She then physically put her hand on my should in a threatening manner. and requested that I leave which I did. For the record I'm 65 history of pain, I provided all documents supporting my pain. I also, witness many patients seemly walking and the office with no physical indication of pain, I cannot speak for any other patients but it appears they will push your insurance to the limit and then establish a pill mill. Will be filing elderly assault charges and unprofessional complaint with the state medical board.

Dr. Khanzada is wonderful. That being said, the staff directly under him is not. They are more concerned with petty arguments over who gets referred to them vs. actually treating the patient. I was referred to them for medicine management - and then referred to another facility for injections. When I arrived at my appointment, I was informed that they do the same injections. The nurse went into describing that my Neurosurgeon is "buddies" with the other center and that is why they don't get referrals and that my Neurosurgeon is the only one here (In other words, they have a beef with this Neurosurgeon) - Let me make this clear -- I DO NOT CARE about your petty arguments over referrals. I am in pain, and I want treatment. After the appointment I called my Neurosurgeon's office to inform them that this center is extremely unprofessional and had made these comments - because I feel they should be aware that PATIENTS are being told these things. I KID YOU NOT - THE NURSE JUST CALLED ME FROM A BLOCKED NUMBER and the words she said was "We were informed that you called.... " and I hung up. I am not - REPEAT AM NOT here to get in the middle of a squabble between offices. She then called back AGAIN from the blocked number. There was no other reason to call me regarding this. Handle your office staff - be professional. It is very unfortunate that this happened because like I stated before, Dr. Khanzada was absolutely wonderful the one visit I had with him. UPDATE: Today I received a letter informing me that, "Pain Treatment Centers of America will terminate its physician patient relationship with you. We are terminating our relationship due to your failure to follow our treatment regimen." FIRST OF ALL - I followed the regimen by the book - they are throwing a tantrum that the neurosurgeon called them to inform them that what they said to me was unprofessional. I will be filing a complaint with the state medical board.
