In March 2022, this year my daughter, * was seen for complications in ***********, **. Tests were done and insurance was billed.Later I received a bill for $40 co-pay, in which I paid. A month later I received another bill for the same amount, $40. In which I didnt think anything of because of all the testing that was done. Again, I paid it. This went on for several months before I noticed this was the same bill I had paid several times prior and was still being billed for.I called the billing department, I believe between May and July to get things straightened out. I was told that I had a credit of over $100 in my account and that my daughters account was taken care of.Then, in September I receive another bill and irritated, I paid again, online with the billing number on the statement.I received a letter in the mail this December from a collection agency over this. A debt that was WELL over paid and promptly may I add. I called the billing department again. Told the person my situation and politely asked for a refund on my account thats been credited. She did say that my daughters account was resolved. Why is my account being credited when it should have been paid under my daughters account, in which I had the proper patient ID? Later, the billing department called me back claiming that my daughter * (an 11 year old) had an outstanding balance of over $100 from 2019I do not have an 11 year-old daughter *** have a son J that was born in 2021.I do not know how or why this is such a mess. Someone is not properly doing their job. Wrong accounts, wrong families, and wrongful collections. I would like to know what is going to be done about this to correct the whole situation and to prevent it happening to others in the future. My husband has mentioned legal action, as now this has affected my credit score going to collections.
