    My roommate AND MYSELF were illegally towed and ** being charged for ridiculous things that never happened and that were at the fault of the company

    On July 14th, 2023 at 12:30AM, my car was in the process of being towed by J.A.R.R. Towing Service as I exited the house I was in for around 15 minutes. I knew I was only stopping for a short time to grab some things and chat for a couple of minutes, so I didn't imagine being towed in this short period of time. I was parked close up by the garage as to not block the road. Another important piece of information is that the aforementioned house is the very last one at the end of the neighborhood (meaning there is no road going past the house, only a dead end). I asked the tower to let go of my car, but he refused multiple times and demanded $150 to "drop" my car. He had attached my car to his truck, but hadn't moved his truck yet. After more tries to get him to release my car, I had to cave in to his demands and pay the $150, which I did via a debit card. After getting home I researched ******* towing legislature and discovered what they had done was unlawful. Under ******* State Legislature, by coming out of the house and interrupting the tow, the tower must release the car without a fee. This towing service has a long record of illegal towings and tries to scam the community of ********* just to make a quick buck. They purposefully patrol certain neighborhoods and seek out cars to tow. This particular tower even made a comment to me that, "this house has always been an issue", in reference to excessive towing made by their company in our neighborhood. J.A.R.R Towing Service is a predatory company run by scummy people trying to squeeze the hard earned money out of the people of *********. I cannot even begin to fully explain how disgusting this company is.
