    In October 2023, I entered a contract with Spartan Shade Systems, *********************** *************) for a custom-built pergola. With my advance payment of $4,000, the commitment was for November install. The company missed several committed install dates following initially provide date for work completion; and with nothing but excuses of why our project was delayed we asked for a refund. Owner *********************** agreed to fully refund my deposit in January and then again in February, to date no check has arrived.*** made several attempts to handle this matter amicably, with no resolve. Thanks for your attention and response, please advise of any requirements to further this matter.

    On 11/14/2023 I gave *********************** Spartan shade systems roc ***********.00 deposit for a privacy fence He committed a three week turn around.He missed several install dates In February he told me he would refund my entire deposit and the check was in the mail February 23 rd, 2024 No check arrived All this is in writing Zero work was ever done

    Project was for a Pool equipment cover and a Pool Storage cover Project estimate date: 3/23/2023 Project quoted completion date: 4 to 6 weeks for materials and Installation 1 to 2 weeks after receipt of materials Spartan did not receive the materials in the stated time above and said there were issues with receiving materials I followed up with phone calls and texts weekly from June 2023 through November 2023 with Spartans office personnel and continued to receive delay after delay saying that the materials were received but the wrong type and had to be reordered or it was delayed because of powdercoat.All while Spartan was stating that my materials always had some type of delay, they were advertising on ******** that they were just finishing up multiple larger projects that use the same types of materials as my covers.After waiting 8 months with nothing but excuses of why my project was delayed, I asked for a refund Spartans Owner ***** agreed to refund my money but every week that I followed up to ask where my refund was I got continued excuses or delays telling me it would be paid the following week This went on from Nov 2023 through Feb 1, 2024 until I decided I would need to get the *** and BBB involved to see if I can get my money refunded before pursuing an attorney.

    Spartan Shade completed the installation of a two-post aluminum pergola and a pool equipment cover in my backyard during the first week of April this year. The team commenced the project early in the morning while I was not present. Upon my arrival, everything initially appeared satisfactory, but upon closer inspection, I noticed that the pergola had been installed unevenly. It was positioned off the property wall, which is not square, and did not align with our pool as intended which is square to our home. Furthermore, the pool equipment cover exhibited subpar workmanship with worn and sloppy corners. See photos for additional. I promptly reached out to the company's office to report the issues. However, they expressed their reluctance to make a special trip to rectify the pool equipment since they were located on the opposite side of town. Instead, they suggested piggybacking the necessary corrections onto a nearby installation to make it worthwhile. Following several exchanges with both the office and the owner, we eventually scheduled an appointment to address the problems. Unfortunately, they failed to show up as promised.Regrettably, I cannot recommend this company due to their lack of professionalism. It is disheartening to say this, especially considering that this is the second time I have engaged their services for my personal residence. The owner has not personally supervised this project, and it is evident that the company's growth has hindered proper management. As a result, I plan to contact the *** (Registrar of Contractors) regarding the improper installation of the pergola and pool equipment.

    they installed a Pergola on 8-12-2022 for $12,720.00. the 4 poles were defective , they have to be power coated, per the manufacturer. 9-1-2022 ***** the owner of Spartan Shades brought the manufacture by to see the poles. he suggested them to be power coated they are defective. on 10-22-2022 his workers came with spray cans and proceeded to spray the poles, they made a mess and now they look worse than before. on 10-24-2022 i texted them photos of the poles. and was told as soon as it got cooler they would be back to complete the work. no one called me. I called the office on May 15th 2023 and left a message asking when they are going to come and paint the poles. i just keep getting the run around. i want a refund or they need to send someone that knows how to paint these poles and not using spray cans. please help me. thank you
