    Put money down for a shaded backyard pergola February 2, 2024 and here it is September 20, 2024 and no action on the County permit. They do not respond to numerous emails to get my down payment back. It looks like I might need to hire a lawyer to get any of my substantial down payment back.

    ***** or Spartan Shade STOLE my MONEY!! I gave him 15k for a down payment and gone. Then a law firm contacted me as he owes them over 200k.. My money is gone!! Do not listen to his sob stories about his wife leaving him.. blah, blah, blah

    Update to previous review. We ended our contract with Spartan and in the end everyone parted ways. No harm done. If the review system would have allowed I would have removed this review.

    Run fast. Sadly I had high hopes for ***** and he came from a recommendation. He wanted a deposit to prepare the *** submission, it took him 30 days to submit a drawing, without photos. After 3 submissions to the *** with photos that I had to find online the *** is still asking for more details and is still declining it. In the process ***** and spartan shades have filed a Lien for several hundred thousand dollars when the project itself was less $18,000 and never approved by the ***. He has filed a fraudulent lien for a made up exaggerated amount. Sadly has proven to be extremely dishonest. I gave them two days to respond after receiving their lien notice with no response.
