I had a 401k through Amerifirst, it has been several years since i've worked there, but the company was getting liquidated and i was contacted by ***** ***** regrading my 401k. I filled out the form she had requested from me to get my old 401k rolled over to my new 401k at my current company. I was told by her back in september of 24 that all the checks/rollover amounts have been sent out or transferred. Life got a way from me and i did not keep up to check, but about a week ago i got a 1099-R form in the mail for the rollover, so I check my balance and still nothing. I have been attempting to reach out to any sort of resource from amerifirst and they have all been unresponsive. I checked my old 401k site through ******* and the balance is empty, so i am trying to figure out where my money wentInitial Complaint

On 9/1/2022 I accepted an offer for the purchase of my home for $418,500 both my realtor and I were led to believe that both parties had signed the agreement and because of this I made an offer on my new home. In the agreement with Amerifirst Financial I was responsible for paying the home inspection on my current home which I paid $350.00 I also paid $300.00 for the inspection on my new home. On 9/14/2022 my realtor and I were totally blind sided when Amerifirst Financial changed the offer to $360,000 this is when we found out that they had never signed the original agreement. I am devastated that they were so dishonest with my realtor and me. I would have never have paid $650.00 for home inspections or even made an offer on the new home if I had known how dishonest, fraudulent and unethical this was.Business Response

I am reaching out in regards to a cash offer I received through Ideal Offer with connection to Ideal Agent. The agent with Amerifirst I was handed off to was *********************. Prior to working with ****, I went through all the preliminary questions with ideal offer and had agreed to the terms and price offered for my home knowing that there was a lien on the property and solar panels. It was explained to me that there would not be any issues and that the amount I was to receive would cover the remainder of all balances and then some. For the past month and a half since July 1st, 2022 when I was initially contacted by ****, I have been following up with him via text and phone calls regarding the contract to get everything set in stone so I could get the home inspection scheduled and make sure I was taking care of everything on my end to help facilitate the sale. This past week on August 16th 2022, it was just brought to my attention that due to there being a lien on the solar panels, the sale wasnt going to be able to happen. Had the associate done his due diligence I would not have informed the tenants in my property that their lease would not be renewed therefore causing me a loss of income and financial hardship if the sale didnt take place. I have tried to reach out to **** to see what will need to happen to help facilitate the sale but have yet to get a response. I was able to speak with a *************************, VP Operations, and was told sorry, theres nothing we can do for you in regards to any accountability being held and making things right. The lack of accountability that Amerifirst places upon themselves is discouraging and also concerning when an individuals financials are brought into play. What if there are others who are led on until the last minute but do not have the financial reserves to make it through and keep them from getting into hole they can not get themselves out of?Complaint ID #******** I had not received any communication from AmerifirstBusiness Response

Dear ****************,
AmeriFirst Financial, **** (AFI) has completed an investigation of your complaint submitted to the Better Business Bureau (BBB).The narrative you provided in your BBB complaint indicates that AFI representative, ********************* (******), agreed to the terms and price for your home knowing there was a lien on the property and solar panels.
****** asserts that he was not aware your property had solar panels until August 11th and, upon discovery of the solar panels, he advised you the property was no longer eligible for purchase by AFI.
No written contract formalizing the terms of the agreement to purchase your property was in force as of August 11th, and therefore no enforceable commitment from AFI existed on the day ****** advised that your property was ineligible for purchase.
AFI regrets that your experience was unsatisfactory, however AFI was under no legal obligation to purchase your property or otherwise provide remedy for non-performance.
AFI considers this matter closed.
Thank you,

**************** and I established communication on July 1, 2022 as shown in the attachments above. Along with the text messages, multiple phone calls were made in all the weeks following to try and receive an update on the contract for the house so I could get the inspection taken care of. The response from Amerifirst stating that **************** found out on the 11th of August and reached out to me that same day is inaccurate and can be shown in the photo attached as well. It was stressed that there was a note on the house and solar panels to ensure all information was provided for a smooth transaction. The fact that over a month and a half can go by with myself asking for updates and not receiving any progress contributed to this. The lack of due diligence from Amerifirst caused a loss on income and financial hardship because they didnt even bother to look at my file until two week before we were supposed to close. By then, the tenants that I had living in the house were already in the process of vacating. This could have all been avoided.Initial Complaint
