I contacted *** today to get my flat tire replaced. Upon actually scheduling because I went through a few people before getting to this woman who stated she scheduled me and someone was 15 minutes away, she said she scheduled for my issue and she didn't. I didn't get a text message. I did keep getting a automatic call from AAA robo stating they are working on my request and asking if I got the message. I'm not sure what that was speaking about. So I went on the app looking for the request and there wasn't one. I had to submit it myself. My old car was still on the app as well even though I just provided this woman with my current vehicle information. Once I submitted the request myself then I get a text about it and I get a call from the driver. Now when the lady first told me she had a driver coming about 15 minutes away I was already waiting for about 10 minutes after that. So now once I did my request the driver was 25 minutes out. So she never did my request, never updated my information, I was having a breakdown because my son broke glass while I was looking for the warranty information for my vehicle because I have triple a with that as well. I was just very frustrated and I was very pleasant speaking and I know this. However that should not justify someone stating they did something that they didn't in a emergency moment. I need corprate to know about this employee.Business Response

I am filing this complaint against *** due to multiple service failures, the first being on May 7, 2025, when I was stranded in traffic due to a brake failure emergency (unrelated to AAA). I called AAA for roadside assistance at 5:45 AM, submitted a tow request through their automated system, and waited over three hours for help. Despite *** being a 24/7 service, no driver was ever assigned. I called AAA six times for updates.Between 5:45 AM and 7:45 AM, I received no updates and attempted to contact three AAA offices around 7:30 AM, all of which went unanswered. I then received a call from a representative in *******, who confirmed that a driver had been assigned earlier but never responded to **** contact attempts highly unprofessional for an emergency service provider. He said they would assign another driver but could not provide an ****** 9:15 AM, a driver from Metro Phoenix Tow finally arrived. I declined service at their shop due to a previous incident on September 4, 2024, when *** towed my car to a AAA-certified facility for electrical issues. I was charged $300 for a diagnostic that found nothing. The shop said they couldnt find the issue. Later, an independent mechanic found that **** team had incorrectly rewired parts of the vehicle, which caused electrical malfunctions on top of the problems my car was already having. Not only was the $300 diagnostic unhelpful, but the rewiring worsened the problem. I had to pay an additional $400 for proper repairs, totaling $700 out of pocket. I submitted a complaint to ***, but received no resolution or **************** claims to be a reliable emergency service provider, but Ive been left stranded and financially burdened twice in the past year. I respectfully request a refund from *** themselves.Business Response

I have been informed by our Club Owned Repair facilities manager that he has left a message for member for a call back to discuss the diagnostic charge and possible refund.

On 23-Sep-24 *** called bc I was having trouble starting my car. *** sent someone out to check my battery. ******* was the young man that tested the battery. He said it needed to be replaced, so he changed it. Over the next few weeks, my car started losing power on occasion, and the dashboard lights would all light up at random. On 2 separate occasions I had to pull to the side of the road bc it just didn't have enough power. On the 3rd incident, I was at a busy intersection. When the light turned red, I tried to power my car on & off, but it never restarted. *** was called again & my car was towed to an autoshop in **************. They were unable to get it to start. Once they assessed my car further, they informed me that the wrong battery had been put in my car. *** (Phoenix Battery a 3rd party *** hires) put in a Leadcell battery, and my car requires a glassmat cell battery (AGM battery). So the autoshop told me to call *** to come to autoshop & remove the wrong battery &replace it with the correct battery. I did &after install complete the guy pro ceeded to inform me that them putting the wrong battery in my car wasn't what caused the damage to my engine! But that's when my car started malfunctioning I have all the documentation from what occurred following this conversation on 13-Nov-24 through current date 12-Apr-25. I spoke to ****** 04-Dec-24, she was to start a claim for me. I did not hear back so I followed up 14-Feb-25 spoke to ******, then ****.Received claim#******. He told me to file a damage claim. I spoke to Superv. ***, had me call Member Experience. ***** gave me claim# *****. ERS reimburs.form submitted. 17-Feb-25. Email received from ******* ******* (ASDS) case#****. His response was they aren't legally liable for Independent Contractors! After reviewing my invoices Mr.*******/ *** mailed me a check for the price of the original battery. He said since they put the wrong battery in back in, in 2022 this couldn't have caused the engine damage.Business Response

We want to reiterate what you have been previously been informed. We have again done everything possible to make an informed and impartial evaluation of the damage you alleged that was caused by the battery installation.
Unfortunately, we cannot hold *********************** for the alleged damage to the starter or causing the engine to seize up. If the issue was caused by an incorrect battery, the issue would have occurred with the original battery installed in September 2022. .Sincerely,
Lakshmi Pal

Dear AAA, I do not appreciate your response or attempt in brushing me off with a reimbursement of$199.25 for the original INCORRECT battery installed, by a third party AAA hired unbeknownst to me. Where is the accountability on your end? After confirmation of the company *** hired (************** Service), installing the wrong battery in my car, not once, but TWICE does not mean damage did not occur over time, with the second WRONG installation causing further damage to the point of engine failure! In summary: while a car might start with a wrong battery, in some cases, it will likely encounter numerous problems and the longer it is used with an incorrect battery, the more damage it's likely to cause! Also: please do not use words like "ALLEGED" when responding to me when it has been confirmed the wrong battery was installed in my vehicle, not once, but twice. And yes, damage most certainly can be done over time, and the second wrong installation can cause more damage.Initial Complaint

AAA auto service fixed my engine and I paid almost $3000. I drove it home and the engine problem happened again. I took it back and they said it needs another part, a fan, which they quoted as 1300, and they deny there was an issue when they fixed it there first time. I have reason to believe there is dishonesty happening, and they didnt complete the job the first time and want to charge me an additional $1300 to complete it.Business Response

Here is the update that I received from the manager at our ******** Arizona AAA Automotive Repair Center.
In regards to ****** ***** 2017 Jeep Renegade, when the vehicle first arrived to us on 1/24/25. Member was concerned of smoke coming out from under the hood and overheating, The vehicle was found to have several coolant leaks along with a broken plastic quick disconnect off of coolant reservoir, vehicle also had very low coolant fluid level. After filling the cooling system with water The technician performed a Block test that checks for Exhaust gasses inside of the Cooling system indicating a blown head gasket. No such damage was evident on the BlockTest. After approval for work we replaced necessary hoses and a few that were recommended due to age and mileage. The engine thermostat was replaced due to the engine having been overheated and possible unseen damage most likely to occur. We then performed a coolant fluid exchange letting the vehicle come up to temperature, checking all operations of coolant fan and thermostat. At the time everything was functioning as designed. Engine was operating at normal temperatures and the coolant fan was functioning properly. We also performed a Tire repair and Full synthetic oil change. Vehicle left on 2.11.25
The Vehicle did return on 2.13.25 with concerns of vehicle overheating, after checking over the vehicle the technician determined that coolant fan was defective and stopped working. After speaking with ****** I made the decision to replace his coolant fan assembly free of charge as ****** has been a loyal member and I understood his frustrations. While removing defective coolant fan assembly the radiator was damaged. We installed a new Radiator and coolant fan assembly, filled cooling system, bled cooling system of all air. Verified all functions of the cooling system were functioning to specifications.
I can understand his frustrations that his cooling fan stopped working after a short period of time after all the necessary repairs were made, but they were necessary as he had coolant leaks and a broken hose, Again all those repairs were covered free of charge.
Sincerely.
Lakshmi Pal

I had AAA replace my battery last year (2024) and it has gone bad after a year on a battery with a 3 year warranty, had car trouble this week with over heating and had to pull to side of road to add coolant, went to start the vehicle and battery was dead. My membership had not been renewed as of yet. So I took the battery to AutoZone to see if the battery was bad they confirmed it was bad, I renewed my membership so I could get the battery replaced but now had to wait 48hrs before my roadside assistance would kick in. I couldn't just leave my car on side of the road for 2 days so I bought a new one so I could get my car home. Called AAA this morning and they came out and told me there was nothing they could do as I removed the battery. I called customer service and they tell me there is nothing they can do to authorize the replacement. It's really bad they won't uphold the warranty you buy as a member even if the membership lapses. This will be the last time I ever sign up for ***.Business Response

On December 4th 2024 I had had my car towed to this repair shop. I asked the mechanic to take a look at the car and understand only necessary issues that needed to be resolved. I had had a lot of work done on this car in the last year. I received a reporting stating 2 issues. 1 was the fan assembly which I had just replaced a year prior to this incident and the 2nd issue was claiming the thermostat was faulty. I was suspicious of these claims as my regular mechanic who knows my car very well had said these symptoms were not adding up. I paid over $200 for these tests. I then decided to take my car to my regular mechanic who had been working on the car for 2+ years. They did a full workshop and test drive and found all of the issues indicated by *** did not need service. They also found the root cause of the issue which ended up being something very small. *** created an estimate for over $2000 worth of work despite it being contraindicated.Business Response

I took my Camry to this AAA Auto Repair for a noise that was coming from the rear suspension. They FAILED to diagnose the noise but repaired OTHER THINGS that did NOT fix the noise and charged my $2697.26. I went back to complain and they were rude to me and simply did not care. I took my car to BELL ROAD ****** and they are able to properly diagnose and repair the noise problem in ONE day for $395. I have a written invoice as PROOF..Business Response

While *** is a great service and a membership I value, once you become a member their, myriad of ************* companies will flood your mailbox and phone with continual advertising promotions. When I became a member on 11/22/24, I TOLD them we do not want any advertising propaganda from ***. They "checked the box" for no marketing communications but told us it may take 6-8 weeks to have them all stopped. I began receiving a flood of *** affiliate marketing and have gone to their ********** THREE times giving them the unsolicited mail, stating my disappreciation. Even AFTER the 8 weeks, I have continued receiving their junk mail. Why should your new members have to endure 6-8 weeks of AAA network of marketing, such as life insurance?!? Why has it persisted even AFTER the eight weeks?!? Are you getting the impression this new AAA member is pissed?Business Response

We want to offer our sincere apology that he is still receiving mail from us.

Customer Answer

The response by *** representative is not accepted since their suggested resolution is to fix only my receiving future mailing from their ************* group. This is NOT the systemic fix I requested and need. As stated in my complaint, "Why should your new members have to endure 6-8 weeks of *** network of marketing, such as life insurance?!?" You have not fixed *** system. The only acceptable resolution is for *** to not allow their marketing group to ever receive their marketing propaganda unless their new members expressly agree to receive any ************* promotions, whether by email or text or mail to their home address. Do not only fix my condition; FIX the *** system to require any member, especially NEW members to formally consent by choice to receive ************* communications. If no consent is given, *** needs to block ALL marketing promotions from being sent to any member from the first day of their membership. I will only accept complaint resolution when *** has confirmed their system is configured to not send any marketing to their clients without the new member's express consent.
