This store does not work honestly with customers! I took some products in October to be sold in their store! I was in the store every week, but my products were never in the store! I also took products from the company "********" that theoretically should have been put on the site, but were never uploaded there! After 6 months I got up the courage to ask where my products are and they told me they are on the floor! I told them they are not and they never were, after 20 minutes of explaining with the saleswoman, she says to me: oh I'm sorry now I remembered, I kept your product aside for a friend, who told me she was coming to pick it up! So my product was kept aside for 6 months for "a friend?"! They keep your branded products aside and if you don't pick them up in time they either donate them to you, or put them on sale when there are big discounts! This is a violation of the regulations

Attached below is document explaining more in detail. I took two formal dresses into My Sister's Closet on 8/3/2024 and filled out a consignment contract. All supporting documents below. On 9/7/2024 I arrived at the store with my receipt and copy of the contract that they had given me on the day I dropped the items off. The manager told me that I could only pick up one of my items, and that the other one had been donated a few days after I had dropped it off. The dress that was donated was a brand new unworn women's ****** **** Strapless Ruffle High-Low Satin Gown in mist color that retails for $269.00. I pulled out my contract and asked her where in the contract it was stated that they could donate an item before the 60 days. She just stated it was their policy and the item has already been donated so there is nothing she can do for me. I asked her why I was never contacted that the item was being donated before the consignment period ended and she stated that they don't have to contact me. Another employee then handed me a blank charitable contribution receipt. I read the store manager the contract that they had provided me where it states, "With the store's permission, you can reclaim items priced higher than $50 for a $5/item pick-up fee. You must reclaim these items before 60 days from the intake date." I also showed her that written in their contract it states, "Items unsold at the end of the consignment period are donated to a nonprofit group." The contract states that the consignment period is *********************************************************************************************************************** where it was donated to. From the date that I dropped the item off with the My Sister's Closet to the date that I attempted to pick up the item was 35 days which is well within the ********************************* their contract. My Sister's Closet breached their contract and I am asking for compensation.

We are happy to work with you on the donated dress. Which store did you consign with?

I provided you with the intake number and customer number in my original complaint, so you would be able look in your system to find the location. The address is ************************************************. I want a refund for the full price of the dress which is $269.00.  This company violated the contract.

We are adjusting this account to add money for the dress. This should settle the case. Thanks.

      Hi,

Gave the company several days and there is still no money in my account.  Also they never stated in the message the amount of money they will be reimbursing me for the dress.  The dress was brand new and cost $269.00.

I took clothes into My Sister's Closet to place on consignment. I told the person checking me in, that I did not authorize the sale of the items without first receiving a price quote. They agreed and I left the items with them. I called three times to obtain my price quote over the course of a few weeks. They always said they would call back but did not do so. I then asked to speak to a manager who then told me all my items had been sold. New and gently used $1,200 to $2,000 shoes had been sold for $25, $40, etc. I told the manager that I had not authorized the items to be sold without a price quote first. She told me she could sell them for whatever she wanted. Interestingly, I have other items that were perhaps originally $75 items and they too are listed for $25. I have since learned that others have had the same experience where they sell high end designer items immediately for pennies on the dollar and it is suspected that people who work in the store are purchasing the high end items and reselling them. I wish I had known this before I left my expensive items with them.

We told **** that we would hold her items until our fall unveiling on August 26th. One pair of shoes accidentally got put out for the sale and sold at 50% off. I told **** we would pay her like they sold for the full price of $195. I'm happy to send **** her consigner report so she can see that all items were fairly priced (and not at $25.) I would also suggest that she review our contract that says We set the prices. We can revise the prices. Many people have an inflated idea of what their used shoes and clothing are worth. After 32 years and millions of items, we try our best to set a fair price for the seller and the buyer.

      ***********************************************************************************

      Thank you.

I have requested a consigners report listing all items that I have on sale with them 3 times.  I still have not received it.  I dropped off several pairs, not one pair, of ******** shoes, and told them that I was not authorizing them to sell them until I received a price quote.  I called multiple times for the price quote and was told they hadn't "gotten to it".  The last time I called they told me they sold them ************ than the price of a used work out shirt in their store.  I have since been told by others that it is well known in the community that employees mark ******** items ridiculously low, buy them, and resell them on line.  I want the consigner report and full compensation for all items, not reduced compensation for 1 item.  I would also like the BBB to investigate the alleged business practice described above.

      Business Response

      Date: 08/29/2023

****'s claims are completely baseless. She could have gotten her report while in the store. All items were priced fairly and have NOT been purchased by employees. I won't stand by while she makes accusations without any basis. This is slander to me any our store.

She can email us at ******************************** and request a report. I've already attached our consigner contract to her complaint. The contract says "We set the prices." We cannot give prices on multiple items. She has been consigning with us since 2019 and knows how we price. I would encourage her to sell her items on her own in the future.
