Went into risas dental in tempe AZ located at ********** and southern ave. to have a root canal done on a molar. The dentist did the root canal and said it went well. This happened may 2020, come to find out I had x rays done recently and the tooth has to be pulled due to massive decay underneath the root canal due to not sealing it properly. Called the location I had the work done and they simply told me there is nothing they can do for me. I spent over $2000 on this tooth just to find out it needs to be pulled just a few years later. I am beyond angry, this place just thinks its ok to take someones money and when they fail to do their job properly they just say oh sorry nothing we can do. Not only am I out the $2000 I paid to have the root canal but now I have to have it pulled an d spend who knows how much more for an implant. They just care about your money they dont care about doing good work or making sure they do a proper job.Business Response

Dear Customer,
Per our records, a waiver was signed in person on 11/20/2024, following the cancellation of your payment plan. This signed waiver confirmed the refund amount and last four digits of the card number to which the refund would be returned to. A refund in the amount $223.14 was issued on 11/21/2024. Following this refund process and confirmation of information on 11/22/2024, you let the servicing office know that you no longer had access to the card that was confirmed on the waiver and original form of payment. However at this time, your refund had been processed and any remaining balance to your bank account would have to be disputed with your bank directly.

I started my orthodontic treatment here at Risas dental on *************** in ****** in April of 2022. I had braces put on by another orthodontist in ** but moved and decided to find a new orthodontist in **. Risas was great at first but then things quickly became horrible and I had already put money down for my treatment. First it was needing to reschedule a bunch of my appointments due to the office over booking so this changed my time frame significantly. I gave them the treatment plan that was created with my previous ortho and they completely changed it because it was their opinion I trusted them and I feel like I was taken advantage of. I was offered at one point to get my money back that I had already paid for and I wish I wouldve done this. Fast forward to when I get my braces off, which I believe my treatment was rushed because they were tired of assisting me and my bite was not correct at that time, the orthodontist forced my retainers on and this lead to my front tooth breaking when I got home. I called the office and was able to get this fixed with a temporary filling and later on a crown that I ended up paying for even when it wasnt due to my own doing. Now that I have my crown on my front tooth, my teeth have shifted and my bite is totally wrong. I have seen other orthodontists and they have said that I will need braces again thus needing to pay for something that shouldve been done the first time properly and not being rushed out of the treatment. I wanted to end my time with Risas dental the day I got my braces off and unfortunately my tooth broke thus making this a longer process to be finished with them.Business Response

************************************** is the location I have been visiting for the past 4-5 years. The receptionist I spoke to on the phone was not only very disrespectful, but unwilling to cooperate with anything that was discussed. I'm a client that was supposed to have braces on for 2 years, this is 4 years later and I'm still running into the same issues. I called for an emergency walk in appointment for the following month. I said I would be in town from the 26th-29th of July, I leave at 11am July 29th. Apparently the only date I could be seen is the 29th of July, this is very frustrating for the fact that I haven't been seen in several months. I'm missing bands, brackets, and basic hygienical upkeeping my "orthodontist" should be taking care of. The word to describe the treatment I've received would be negligence. When I asked to transfer buildings if this would be the case, I was also told I'd be breaching the contract and have to pay $500 out of pocket, the contract states this term within the 1st 18 months. In which I've obviously exceeded. That same contract also states the duty that should be executed (in which was breached). The cause of this would be hundreds of dollars in additional flights/fees as well as the emotional harm inflicted and time wasted thinking I was getting productive treatment. Its one thing to not respect a lawful contract, but another to break your own motto/code of ethics. I look forward to speaking with someone about this nightmare of a facility. It amazes me that there is no "corporate" office, or so I've been told. I find it even more amazing that there is only 1 orthodontist that comes in 3 days a week. I must have chose the wrong profession if that's how much he's getting paid. I'm also still waiting on "******'s" call to talk with me about the service received yesterday, In which "******" promised would happen.Business Response

I went 3/23/24 to be check if a can saved a tooth that my filling just fell by refilling again, I have an endodontic surgery work back in 2005 or so without a crown, I didnt have any pain. Dr said they have to remove the remaining of my tooth, I asked if they could refilled it and they say no. They could of tell me right there to go somewhere else because they dont do that work. So with the x rays it came out, 5 cavities a regular cleaning and one wisdom tooth extraction. I decided to get my teeth done for what it was needing. And since then, I been in so much pain, almost two months. Going in to be check and helped, they made me 2 more x rays, on the first one the Dr said when they removed the cavity went to close to the nerve and the filling was almos touching the nerve. Prescribed me Sodium Flouride 5000ppm for sensitive. Nothing changed and went back for the pain and also noticed that I cant chewed because it hurts too, and also brushing my teeth, my gums hurts. I never had gums or pain problems! On my second visit for pain I got 1 more x ray from the side that hurts more, the person doing it says they were going to concentrate in the side where I have more pain. The Dr ***** there so another Dr checked me and referred me to an specialist somewhere else for fracture. I went back for same reason, the pain and to asked if I have to pay now in another place and the Dr did this job say yes, all they can do is removed that tooth where they treated for cavity and I have to pay the difference from the filling to the extraction. But I dont want to loose another tooth! And he told me if I want to save it I have to go somewhere else and pay! Wow so now I have to pay for what they done wrong and go somewhere else to pay even more money. Thats a NO for me! I dont even know if thats going to stop the pain or how much they done wrong! He said my body reject the filling and if the nerve dies it can cause an infection. I want them to be responsible for all costs!Business Response

Two years ago I was told the gap in my front teeth could be remove with braces. Doctor said treatment was 8months but that I had to pay for a full 2 year treatment. 4months into the treatment that doctor quit for 5 months I cancel 2 appointment due to there not being a doctor on site. 6months ago i explained to new doctor that I only wanted the gap removed and was told it would be 8mobths he did trays and pictures and said he could have it remove with a few visits.Today 5/23 he tells me due to the shape of my teeth and gums he has closed the space but not that gap and that the gap is not possible to be removed. I have been on auto pay for 2 years with no results and terrible terrible service and terrible treatment. I am seeking a refund I understand new doctor has to catch up but the minute he took those rays 6months ago he could have said the gap was not removable and I wouldn't have wasted my timeBusiness Response

I recently contacted about a treatment for braces. In August 2022 I was told the gap on my front teeth would be fixed withing 6-8months. 4months after starting Mt treatment the doctor quit. For 8 months there was no doctor available on site. For 8months all was done was new rubber bands on braces. Finally 15 months into the treatment I was fed up. In February 2024 I meet the new doctor I let him know all I want is the small gap gone he does pictures and xrays and says he will have it done no issues that within 3 months the gap will be gone. 2 weeks ago I complain again of the process and he says he won't do anything else that the gap is not removable that he wants to end the treatment. Today I get a call from ****** and ****** saying that my treatment is done that I no longer have to pay the remaining time which is til August that's 3months and that they will refund $500 for the inconvenience. I have paid $3100 with no results days of leaving work early to fit their schedule bc I refuse to go when there was no doctor on site. $3100 spent and they offer $500 Please if anyone can help I can't afford an attorney but it's a lot of money to lose a lot of time lost Please helpBusiness Response
