I recieved a text stating that a pending delivery a "document" needed to be completed and this hyperlink **************************. package reverence was #***** package#***-OR49R4L. The link brought me to a *** looking site twice I entered CC info thinking it was for a prescription from Optimum.The link has expired and I belive it was fraudulent.please help ****Initial Complaint

I received a fraudulent charge from Namesilo. I've never worked with this company. When I contacted them they said they'd reverse the charge but wanted a screenshot of my statement. I sent them the line item only and was told this card is linked to an account in another state and has been since 2019. They listed the website they claim is associated with the credit card. That website does not exist. I checked.When I challenged them, I received a response saying that the website DOES exist and has since 10-2020. Perhaps that forgot they told me the account has been active since 2019? Either way, the company is not legit. I'm still waiting for the charge to be reversed.Business Response

This company fraudulently processed a fictitious charge through our checking account. After making a purchase through Amazon our personal information was compromised then a transaction appeared in checking account only referenced Silo **. Our bank contacted ** to notify us that a potential fraudulent transaction had been processed through our account. Sure enough our bank was correct. No information on how to contact these people all is extremely unsettling and sketchy to say the least. Why is this business allowed to get away with this c*** without any consequences. After all the complaints to the BBB you would think they would have been shut by now, and I wouldnt even be here filing a complaint, but no! Why does the BBB even exist? Seems like companies continue to lie and are allowed to commit fraud. Where can a consumer go to actually get assistance and be heard?? UNBELIEVABLE!Business Response

I originally purchased my domain from godaddy. Then swapped to ****** domain Simple biz is my host. They or I can no longer access my site and it shows this company owns it and they do NOT and have never owned it. Please return my site !!Initial Complaint

Hi there, I have been a customer of ********************** since earlier this year (2022). I had no issues for months, but then a false and wrong report from ******** started a nightmare of horrible customer support and a terrible experience as a customer. The first time that this happened they removed one of my domains from my account, after providing a copy of my ID they gave me the domain back, they never mentioned any issue, they just wanted extra info from me. A few days after the access of my account was restricted, they asked again for an ID and a proof of address, then they said that there was an issue with Netrcraft but it was already fixed, it took them 6 days to get my access to my account reinstated. Shortly after they suspended my account again without doing anything different or nothing wrong, they asked for an image with my credit card and the Namesilo.com website loaded in my computer screen as "proof", I provided that, it took them 3 days to get my account access reinstated again. Without doing anything my account was suspended again in less than 24 hours, now they are asking for a selfie with my ID... They keep asking for information, without telling me what is the cause of all this, I provided more than enough proof already and they say nothing, their support is slow, not helpful, very straight to the point, and bot-like short answers without providing proper support. I have been buying domains for over many years and I worked with several registrars, definitely, this is one of the worst registrars in the world. Their 1-star reviews are starting to grow more an more in Trustpilot and other sites, no wonder why. I am ready to take legal actions against this abuse, being misleading, deceitful and not being transparent, not helpful and the list goes on. They will excuses themselves that I had reports with fraud but it is not true, liers! Everything was solved from my side. After dozens of emails support, my business losses they keep being abusive.Initial Complaint

Name Silo sold a domain where someone is pretending to be my computer yet they haven't replied to shutting down the domain - they push back and say create a abuse ticket - that's been done a week ago with no reply no action on their part- this company allows fraud to happen with their services - I am reaching out to the BBB to have this company do their job and turn down a domain..Business Response

Please understand that content on websites falls under the purview of the host, not the domain name registrar. The domain name registrar has no control over the content served from those websites.
We, as NameSilo, intervene when domain names registered through us engage in illegal activity (i.e. terrorism, child ***********, phishing abuses) as that is a violation of our T&Cs. However, we are required to investigate and gather evidence of the illegal activity prior to deactivation. And unfortunately, we cannot simply take email or social media reports at face value as there are often fake or inaccurate reports filed with us.
In this case, you will need to contact the host of the website who has control over this or the registrant of the domain directly to resolve this matter.
