      Similar to other complaints - I was walking in my neighborhood when someone claiming to be selling magazines for "Optimum Readers Service" approached me. We talked for a quite a while and walked together, and I purchased an annual subscription to "Animals Tales" for $120 on 12/29/22. She had me call someone else she worked with to confirm the purchase. I paid via Venmo. It's now 2/22/23, and I haven't received any magazines. The first name on the "sales agent" is impossible to read; last name "*****". Code says "308". I'd like a full refund.

      On Jan 8th 2023, ****** came to my door and persuaded me to contribute $120. The complaints to the BBB indicate that this was a scam, and the money I contributed is not used by your company as advertised. I'd like a full refund for the $120 I sent via venmo to *********************************.

      I purchased a subscription on 7/20/22, paid $256 by check. After researching the organization, I promptly submitted a request to cancel on 7/21/22. Two months later, I received a request that I send the cancelled/paid check and I would be refunded. I sent to requested info. As of today, 1/9/23 (nearly 6 months later), I have yet to receive a refund. My receipt # is ******.

      Someone came to my door saying his organization donates magazines for charity. Turns out its a scam.

      On 6/29/22 I had solicitors come to my house and sold me a subscription to the Economist. I paid via check $216.00. It is Jan 2023 now and I haven't received a single copy. I have called customer ********************** and left voice-mail but haven't gotten a call back.

      I was approached at my front door by a young man who claimed he was working for a non-profit (showed me some kind of documentation) that provided books and magazines for hospitals and nursing homes and for people who could not afford reading materials. I gave him a check for $120.00. Now I am going over my donations for my tax review and when I looked up this organization, I find it is a fraud. I wonder if there is any chance I may get my $120.00 back.

      On 29 December ********************************************************** some laminated material indicating she was in training for something (it wasn't clear to me what). She proceeded to describe magazine subscriptions which were to be sent to various charities and by buying subscriptions I could help her get points towards what I believed was a scholarship to go to nursing school. The subscriptions were outrageously expensive but I succumbed to ordering 3 subscriptions to go to a boys and girls club. I later realized that this was a scam after reading this website. I have cancelled the check I wrote and sent in their cancellation request per their instructions. I would like this company to be sanctioned for the was it does business.

      Two saleswomen knocked on my door on 12/22/2022 and began told me a story about how both them were single mothers who were part of a "second chance" program that was selling magazine subscriptions door to door to be donated to various non profits. After listening to their sales pitch and being in the Christmas spirit I said I would buy a package of magazines to be donated. The women began to prepare 2 invoices (Receipt # ****** and ******) for a total of $820 for 8 magazine subscriptions. After saying I would donate the packages I felt compelled to do what I said I'd do. I "Venmo'd" the money to "@Go4Morellc". After the saleswomen left, I began to research Optimum Readers Service and quickly realized I that had been misled into donating money. Later that day (12/22/2022) I sent the notice of cancellation to Optimum Readers Service and also sent an email explaining my desire for a refund. As of 12/27/2022 no one has responded to my email and to make matters worse the same women who I bought magazines from came by my house again to try to sell magazines to my mother who is staying with me.

      Ok basically same as all other complaints. I gave ****** on zelle and then I tried to cancel the order but was given the run around by the number I was calling to ask how to cancel the order I have no order number I have a receipt there are no instructions or anything on the receipt!

      A nice gentleman came to the door at 6pm one night with some laminated pages and rambled off that his job was to get people to buy these magazines and he gets points and gets paid. He said we wont see the magazines as they will go directly to the organizations. He claimed he really wanted to focus on womans shelters and we can give cash or make a payment by *****. I wanted to give $30 and he convinced me to help him get home for the holidays and give $60. I gave $60 via Venmo. I asked if there was a website and he said no. In the moment he convinced me this was his job and I was trying to help him. Once he left I did a bit of research I realized this was a scam (which seemed like it during the time) but he did a great job discerning the program.
