Express Flooring salesman ******* arrived at our home very prepared with samples and a load of lies from the beginning. He told us how meticulous their installers were. He bragged at how carefully they would be with our furniture and how clean they would leave our home. He Bragged that the installers would carefully mark each piece of trim as they removed it from the walls.The install came and installed out floors in 2 day and I have to admit they look great now but only after we cleaned and fixed all the damage they did to my walls. I patched holes and trim joints and painted from 5 p.m. till midnight, not to mention all the dirt and debris they left in my home! In addition to the damage to my walls and all the dirt and debris they managed to dent the side of our refrigerator and scratch the front in total more than $1500.00 in damages.They have the worse customer service I have ever seen. I have been getting the run around for 2 weeks. The person assigned to my case ******** called me 2 weeks ago with promised to compensate me for the damages to my home. She promised to call me back the following Monday by 3:00 p.m. She avoided my calls and text for the next 2 weeks. when she finally called me back, after I called customer service every day she finally called me back. After discussing what I feel is a reasonable compensation she put me on hold while she got approval from her supervisor/manager. I was on hold for an hour before she, or the system disconnected the call with no call back or answer text or calls. I dont feel I am being unreasonable about this, I am not asking for anything but for them to take financial responsibility for the actions of their employees! Note: the photos submitted of the holes in the walls were observed all along the baseboards!Business Response

I do not feel that Express Flooring has any intention of resolving this issue. The reason i state this is because I received a telephone call from Juliette yesterday morning 10 AM, October 14, 2024. She said that she was sending over documents immediately for me to sign. She said she had to have these documents signed and returned back to her before she could issue me the agreed upon settlement. She verified my email address and I have not received her documents and once again upon my attempting to contact her via text, and phone call she has notcontacted me in over 24 hours. This has caused both myself and my wife great stress. I want this resolved yet i honestly do not feel they have any intention to follow through with their promises to resolve this. I greatly appreciate anything you can do to end this nightmare situation. My wife and I have major health issues and this stress has caused us to lose sleep and are having major physical problems due to our attempts to repair the damages they caused while installing floors.Business Response

On September 18, 2034 @10am I had new flooring installed in my Family Room, Office and hallway. During that installation, the molding was damaged in four (4) areas in the Office and Hallway areas. When the installers, along with the supervisor ******* came back to install the last piece of transitioning strip, I expressed my concern about damaged areas. ******* stated that the molding was not made out of real wood and this type of damage happens. If that was the case, then the living room area would have been damaged also and it wasn't. I've tried repeatedly to reach out to Express Flooring customer service, and can never get a response from them. I finally reached someone by the name of **** (in scheduling) on 9/30/24 and she advised that the company was short staffed, but they are in the process of restaffing. **** sent me over to customer service, and I left a VMM at ****** on 9/30/24. The message stated that someone would get back to me within 72 hours. That didn't happen. I texted my Design Consultant ****** ********** who came out for the initial consultation, and sent him pictures of the damage I wanted repaired. He said that he couldn't see the pictures clearly, but he would escalate my concern to ********* Manager. On 09/19/24. ****** advised me to call customer service, which I had already done.The service after the sale truly leaves something to be desired with this company. Overall I'm very pleased with the installation, but now I can't seem to get a live body to address my damage concerns. I will not let this go, and I would like the damage to my home repaired as expeditiously as possible. After speaking with *******, I was left with the impression that to repair the damage would cost the installers out of pocket monies, so she just justified the damage, which is unacceptable.I will not let this go! On September 19th Express Flooring came to install floors in 3 bedrooms and closets. The installers would not install the floors the way the salesman and I agreed and they pushed a hole in one of the closet doors trying to reinstall it! The salesman or the company will speak to me about the issue and the workmanship is awful to say the least.Business Response

I hired Express Flooring to install carpet and padding because they told me their padding was the best available. I made a point to express how important the padding was because I have a bone disease that affects my feet. With the promise of the most plush of padding, I signed an agreement with Xpress flooring to install the carpet and padding.When I saw the padding, it looked cheap, but because they promised me, I trusted them. After the padding and carpet were installed, I took a sample of the padding to Lowes. The manager at ***** informed me that I had been conned. He said the padding was of the lowest grade of paddings available and proceeded to show me about seven other pads that were much higher quality. I tried to get Xpress flooring to work with me, but they refused. Ultimately, I had to pay another company to remove the carpet and replace the padding with new padding.. I disputed this charge with my bank and lost because Xpress flooring says I signed a contract. I did sign a contract, but I signed a contract for the best padding available, and I was not delivered the product I was promised. The agreement I signed was based on misinformation and deception and I would not have agreed Had I known they were lying to me. If Xpress flooring was not trying to con me, then they would have happily come to a compromised solution. However express flooring was unwilling to compromise, and therefore, I got conned into signing a contract forcing me to keep padding unlike the padding I was promised. I would like a partial refund from Xpress flooring And accountability for lying to me.Business Response

I do not accept this response because I kept part of the product. I replaced the padding not the carpet. I do not have buyers remorse over a padding that I did not choose, a padding which was chosen for me, and a padding that was misrepresented from the start with regard to its quality. How can I have buyers remorse for a product I did not choose? I was promised the best padding and I got the worst. I had to pay out of pocket to replace the padding, but I kept the carpet. The company completely misled me when they said the padding was excellent, and now they need to be held accountable for their abject lie. Buyers remorse is when you buy something and take it back. Buyers remorse has nothing to do with low quality products that were promised to be of the highest quality thats called manipulation or bait and switch on behalf of express flooring.Business Response

We are open to extending Ms. ******* a 20% discount on a future purchase, or we are open to extending her a $200.00 customer service adjustment in the form of a credit on her past purchase. We ordered/paid for this flooring on 3/20/2023. We paid for a waterproof, durable, easy to clean flooring and that is not what we received. The floor in one of the rooms already has substantial water damage. The floor is hard to clean when there are spills. I've called this company dozens of times to get the floor fixed and most of the time I do not receive a call back. The same installer who originally installed the floor did come to take pictures, but they never called me back to actually schedule a repair. Also, the installer came back the day after he took the pictures and asked my husband to sign something that was in Spanish only. The installer did not speak any English. I do not know what he asked my husband to sign. Additionally, our contract clearly states that the baseboards were to be "rip and replace". The installers forced my husband to pay them $700 in cash to install the baseboards. They did not provide a receipt. When you call this company you are placed on hold for approximately 15 min, and then there is a recording that they will call you back. They have never called me back and I have called dozens of times. Our damaged floor is still not fixed.Business Response

A manager is coming out Friday to look at the floor. They have not told me what the resolution will be. Since they have already come out once before and no repairs were made, I am not comfortable closing this complaint until I know that the issue will be resolved. Can this be kept open until I at least speak to the manager who is coming out on Friday, and possibly until the issue is resolved because of my past experience?

The manager did send someone out to look at our floors, he said that the damage was caused by my son using a chair, even though I told him that is not the area where the chair was being used. Additionally, we were sold a "high quality, durable, waterproof floor with a 50 year warranty. Even though it's obviously water damage, he insists that it's our fault and not covered. He can do nothing about the electric that was damaged during the install or the extra cash we were required to pay to complete the install. I am not satisfied with their response and want a refund on the material or completely new material placed down that is up to the specifications that we were promised at the time we purchased these floors.Customer Answer

Express apologizes for the issues, however has resolved the complaint within the contractual obligations of the agreement. One of our team members performed an on-site inspection and completed the necessary repairs on 10/18/24. We encourage ******* to work with our local office in ******* to resolve any additional issues she may have regarding her installation, as she has not made contact with anyone since prior to the repairs being completed in October.

Work to replace carpet began on 09/16/2024. They returned on 09/18/2024 to finish but didn't have enough carpet to complete the job. Kept saying, "I promise to come back." 12 days later no return. Called the customer service ***** and was told someone would be in contact. No contact. Received a bill for payment even though the work is not complete. We have not signed any paperwork showing the work was completed. Every door frame in the house was banged with my wife's antique furniture. Very hard it. Around April 2024 I signed a contract to have flooring installed in my living room kitchen area and den The salesman suggested what would be the best type of flooring for my house since I have two large dogs and I accepted his suggestion. When the installer came out he let me know that he was not trained or comfortable tryingto install on my type of floors which was wood covered with tiles. This was a first red flag. He went out to his truck and I guess someone tried to walk him through the installation process. Long story short, he didn't get and did a horrible job. Lots of waives and bumps were showing after the flooring was completed. After 5 months of calling and getting lied to about somebody coming out to look at it, ****** finally sent someone out to fix the problem. The problem now is, the flooring they brought does not match the original flooring which has a sheen and the new flooring is matted or flat which is very noticeable. Also they did not touch the kitchen area which still shows a LOT of bump in the floor. I told the guy that did the inspection that that was terrible looking and he said he would call ****** and let him know. It has been three weeks and as of today 9/29/24 I have not heard back from anyone. This is beyond frustrating as this was not a cheap purchase. I would love to have this problem resolved so that I can enjoy my house.again. I am really embarrassed to have people come over because my NEW floors look HORRIBLE!! Dates of Transaction-start date 9/17/2024, completion date 9/18/2024. Cost $6329.00 minus discounts per ***** and ******, the salesman. Herein lies one of the problems, I asked for a breakdown of costs, discounts, labor costs etc. etc. An invoice if you will? Never received this, never received my discounts and never received a call back from the manager (*****) as I was told by ****** he would have him call me. Here it is the 28th of September and I have not heard from these people. I have read numerous complaints about this company and their lack of transparency, BBB complaints, bad reviews, never return calls, etc. etc..... I want and need a breakdown of costs, an invoice. I would like all the discounts promised removed from the $6329.00. I was promised an educator discount, a military discount, $250 discount for both the wife and I were there for the initial meeting, as promised, and 75% because we did three rooms. All of these discounts were provided by ***** at Express flooring. ****** told me they would deduct these discounts form the total amount owed.Business Response

As with any retailer, we do offer a variety of sales, specials, and discounts. Naturally they all have their own respective terms and conditions. Generally speaking, consumers are not able to combine or stack promotions. We do make exceptions from time to time, but that is at Express Flooring discretion. All pricing is discussed with our clients at the point of sale and contracts are executed to document the agreement for both Express Flooring's sake, as well as our customers. This process was no different with *********** order and for her to have these concerns now after she has received the goods and services, he purchased is certainly unfortunate. He received a copy of his contract at the point of sale that outlines the scope of work that was to be provided in addition the cost of those goods and services. ************* has any information or documentation that indicates the amount he paid is incorrect, we urge him to provide that to us directly. We will be happy to review any information he has and change our stance if that is appropriate.
