In May 2023, I paid for expedited delivery of my DD214 along with my military training records for a total cost of approximately $130. Expedited delivery was for 48 hour delivery by email. As of November 2023, I have never received the documents, and I've contacted the company dozens of times. Their responses have varied from dismissive to delayed, yet nearly 6 months later, I still haven't received my documents. This has prevented me from applying to government jobs, which is the reason that I requested the forms initially. I was told by the air force that this was the best way to get copies of my military documents. Originally, they told me that they would send updates if there were any delays. I got updated for the first 2 months of delays then the updates stopped. One person that I spoke with said that I didn't need my DD214 because I was reserviced. I informed her that I was deployed to a war zone for 6 months, and I did in fact need proof. This company took my money, didn't deliver their promised goods, and they have been disrespectful to deal with. I still need my military record to apply to certain government jobs. This company should be embarrassed and ashamed of themselves for treating disabled war veterans this way....Business Response

This website says it will get you your documents for a fee. What it doesnt tell you is they dont speed up the process. You can get your documents if you request them from the government as quickly as you can from this sight. Difference is if you request it from the government the documents are free! This is a total scam and this company should be ashamed of themselves taking advantage of people who honorably served this country! We have also submitted a request for your ***************** Personnel File and this was submitted to *********************. Between 2021-2022, ********************* faced a backlog of requests due to COVID-19, prioritizing DD214 discharge documents over **** requests, as DD214 is crucial for various VA benefits.
We are currently in the process of obtaining your **** records, as ********************* has begun clearing the backlog.
You also requested a full refund on 9/11/23, but we explained that a full refund of $137 could not be issued since we had already provided the DD214 service. July 9th 2023, I ordered my military records online from DD-214 Direct. Their website stated they knew the government/military records system well, had representatives on the ground to quickly and efficiently obtain my records. The website said they would get my records quickly and send them to me via email and a hard copy through the mail. I paid $138.00 and received a receipt. This website touts that they are Veteran owned, and said why waste your time waiting around for your military records when we are the experts who can obtain your records quickly. They stated they knew the process and could navigate it expertly.It is now September 16 2023, and I have never received my records.They refuse to refund my money and told my credit card company I received my records. They are complete scam artists. They are preying on Military Veterans with promises to obtain their Military records for them quickly. We find and deliver discharge documents. Thats our job. Depending on several factors, your DD-214 is stored at a government building in *********, *************, *************, or elsewhere. We work directly with archival researchers to obtain your DD-214.
By using an expeditor such as DD214 Direct, youll avoid delays and annoyances. And unlike the government, we offer email delivery.Typically, we ask that you give it about a week to 10 days after you get your scanned copy before you receive the hard copy via the ************* *************** this gives us time to print your DD214 and mail you a copy. However, the email copy you received can be used as a valid copy just like the printed copy that we are sending in the mail. Simply print it directly from the email and provide it to whomever is requesting your proof of military service.
Your companys website states that an emailed copy will be sent to me about 10 days after I paid you. I paid you $138.00 on July 9, 2023, for a copy of my military service records.
It has now been 73 days since I paid your company and I have received neither an emailed copy of my records nor a copy via email.

You hired us on 8/3/23 to retrieve your father's military discharge records. Fourteen hours later, the government agency in possession of your records, if you gave us accurate information, responded to us requesting additional information regarding your father's period of service because they were not able to locate the records.
Our experts reviewed and submitted your information back to the agency in possession of the records. Eighty percent of records of similar age to your father's (pre-1961) are currently taking about 10 days to come back from the agency. More recent discharge records come back much faster. We are waiting on a final answer from the agency.
Just like yours, the vast majority of complaints we receive are from clients who do not understand the government process of retrieving military discharge documents. June 29, 2023 : I contacted DD214 Direct to request assistance in retrieving a copy of my Father's discharge papers from the Army. I was assured by ******* on the phone, ******, that the information I could provide them - his SSN, DOB, Service number and dates of service - would be adequate to secure the document or, at the very least, a letter confirming his service. I need this to secure additional VA benefits for my 92 year old father's care in his assisted living facility. It is now July 21 and *******, ******, just informed me they cannot provide the documents without additional information or supporting documents - which I do not have, as I explained to her in our first call before I paid them $119.00 with her assurance that the information I did provide would be enough. I would not have agreed to pay for the service otherwise as I knew that was all the information I COULD provide in this matter. The veteran, my Father, is *************************************** order for him to continue to receive care at the facility we are trying to receive additional VA benefits, ******************, which require either his discharge papers or the official letter that ****** confirmed I could receive. Your company did not provide the service they charged my 92 year old father for and I feel we have been scammed out of his hard earned money.
