I am a resident of ******************************************************************************************* I bought 21 solar panels with Arcadia Solar in 2020 and 2021 for 10 years as below, and I was getting credits to my SDGE utility bill every month. But I changed my password in SDGE, and then Arcadia deactivated the plan. Now it seems they cannot make it active, and neither issuing the refund. I signed up to buy into a solar farm that hasn't even been completed yet late this past fall with Arcadia Solar. They promised me that I would see a pretty significant decrease in my power bill. A few months went by and there was no change. When I checked the website, they said it was because the farm was not up and running yet. Three days ago, I received an invoice from Arcadia that said I owe $603.70, and it was due immediately. I notified them that that was a little shocking and that I wanted to cancel my account. They offered to split the bill in three separate payments which I agreed to but still wanted to cancel. They charged my credit card on file for the full amount with no authorization from me. I even checked my dashboard on the app and website and auto pay was not authorized. I have no idea what this charge was for as the farm is still not complete. These folks are shady.Initial Complaint

Arcadia is a solar farm that works in conjunction with JCP&L involving credits. Initially it took 3 months to get the billing going. Then for 3 months things seemed to be OK. Last week, beginning of February they said they had overlooked a charge for me for $224+ covering Nov-Dec. Then one day after that they said there was incorrect billing for Sept-Oct to the tune of $234. You don't get a regular monthly statement for some reason no matter how often I asked. Their billing seems to be behind by 3-4 months. Yesterday I told them to cancel my account. And here's the kicker - they said it would take 90 days to process the cancellation (meanwhile billing on my credit card for an additional 3 months). I don't think they have a right to make up these charges 3-4 months after the month and would like them NOT to charge me the $234+ or refund this. This company is absurd - possibly a scam.Initial Complaint

July 2023, I, ***** Cruzin, was lied into an agreement signing for a loan. Company said the system was free and I wouldnt be receiving a loan or cost. After the system was turned on they sent me a notice for the loan. The system is not generating credits and i still have additional payments and I cant afford to pay for both when i was guaranteed full coverage of my production. They took advantage of my lack of English language and did not explain tax credits or even payment increase if it was not repaid. Company lied about warranties my lawyer later advised that warranties were limited and didnt fully cover my system components.Initial Complaint

So our Arcadia solar just magically vanished off the face of the Earth. I have a 10-year warranty on my equipment and now I can't even get any maintenance done because the company is gone. All their phone numbers have been disconnected and no answers have been coming through with attempted email Communications. I have dug very deep it cannot find any information on whether or not they were sold to another company or anything. My solar system is not operating properly and now I'm paying for panels that aren't working.Initial Complaint

Dear Better Business Bureau,I am filing a complaint about issues with my solar energy system, installed by Arcadia Solar Energy and purchased through Helio Sun Solar in *******. I invested $60,000 in this system, expecting long-term service and warranty support. However, repeated attempts to contact Arcadia Solar have failed, as their provided numbers (************** and **************) appear inactive, and their office at *********************************************************, is unresponsive.Issues:1. System and Safety Concerns:I have experienced an electrical burning smell and ongoing inverter issues. Though Arcadia Solar replaced the inverter, they installed an incorrect model, and since then, they have not responded to my inquiries, leaving these issues unresolved.2. Monitoring and Misleading Charges:My contract promised a Curb monitoring system for the 25-year warranty duration, but monitoring has now been discontinued. SolarEdge, whom I contacted for help, informed me that Helio Sun Solar should have included free monitoring with the system and that I should not have been charged $600 for the Curb system, as it is typically included in large units. This charge appears unnecessary and feels like an unfair sales tactic.Requested Resolution:I ask that Arcadia Solar:Re-establish communication to resolve the systems issues and ensure correct equipment and monitoring are in place.Clarify their business status and provide reliable contact info for warranty service.Refund or justify the $600 charge for the Curb monitoring system. If Arcadia Solar does not address these concerns promptly, I may consider legal options to ensure my investment is protected.Thank you for your attention to this matter.Initial Complaint

I was told that by signing up for Arcadia solar program that I would pay less every month in electric. I was not informed I would have to pay for the panel itself. I was charged multiple times per month for usage and panel. I called to rectify the situation and was told by management that I can not speak with them regarding the issue. I wanted to cancel with Arcadia and was told it would be a process of 180 days. I wanted to speak with management for immediate cancellation but they would not speak with me and had their employee repeat their 180 day policy to me.Initial Complaint

Arcadia Solar, now out of business, was hired by our solar broker, Direct Solar, to install solar, which took place July 2023. We happened to be out of town. (The installation was delayed three weeks; we had planned a trip to visit family and were told by the broker we didnt need to be home for installation.) The evening of the completed install, we received a text from our neighbor that water was gushing into the air like a geyser from our front landscaping and had been likely doing so for hours. They had driven up to see water coursing down the street and turned off the water main. When we returned the following week, we found that the Arcadia installers had crushed the valves of our drip system and broken two sprinkler heads, resulting in an unusually high water bill for the month ($240). Arcadia covered the water bill, but we were stuck with a broken system. This should have been our red flag about the workmanship of the installation. Arcadia had inspected and passed our roof before install. We bought our house in June 2022 and never had a roof leak, not even during the very wet August of that year. One month after our solar was installed, the roof leaked into the kitchen. Arcadia came out to inspect, told us it was not the panels or their penetration into the roof, so the problem was ours. The leaks worsened, and eventually water flooded our kitchen. We had to tear out our flooring, which had absorbed water and buckled, popping the boards out of place. Eventually, the kitchen ceiling caved in. Arcadia should not have passed our roof, which obviously cannot handle the panels. In order to access our roof for repair, we have to remove the solar. We have contacted Arcadia, but they are gone. Our broker has distanced itself from the situation. We have no warranty because Arcadia is out of business. And our panels are currently not working. This experience has been a nightmare. We have 4 children. Our family is trying to live in a house that has become unlivable.
