Alpha recovery towed my car and damaged my driver side front bumper. They said they took pictures before they towed my car. My front bumper never had any damages to it. They're trying to say that it broke off by its self because of it being old. That's their lame excuse.

    To Whom It May Concern,

Thank you for notifying us of the Complaint and for allowing us a chance to review and respond accordingly. Alpha Towing and Recovery Company, LLC (Alpha Recovery) values the role of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) as a fair and trustworthy liaison serving in the best interest of all parties.  Below is our response to this Complaint.

At the time of repossession on March 19, our agent documented the vehicle with a photo clearly showing the front passenger side bumper already exhibiting damage, including protruding bumper. Additionally, the photo submitted by the Customer supports this, as it reveals aged and worn bumper clips consistent with pre-existing issues rather than new damage incurred during the repossession process.

The customer also shared a photo showing damage to the front driver side fender liner and engine splash shield. However, these too display signs of aging and wear that indicate the damage was not recent. Based on our inspection and the available photographic evidence, there is insufficient support to conclude that our actions caused or worsened the damage. It appears the separation of the bumper clips may have resulted from standard towing procedures interacting with previously weakened components. As such, the claim is being denied due to the evidence pointing to pre-existing and aged damage.

We thank the Customer and the ******************** for their time and effort in alerting us to the matter.  Please reach out to us should you need any further assistance.

My car was repossessed on Jan 6th . I have paid everything that I owe to my Finance Company so that I can pick up my car. I paid that yesterday. 1/13/25 I went online with Alpha Recovery they are the people who towed my car I scheduled an appointment. I scheduled the appointment for January 14, 2025. I called my Finance Company confirmed that they have provided those release. However no one has contacted me to confirm my appointment.Alpha Recovery policy is you have to schedule online they provide you with a phone number. That is just a loop that continues to repeat the same thing over and over again. We are going to attempt to pick up the car at the scheduled appointment that we did online however, according to the complaints I see this is their practice to hold cars and push rates to get a storage fee. It should be completely illegal.!

Alpha Recovery provides an online scheduling platform by which Customers are able to schedule appointments to retrieve vehicles and/or their personal items.  In this case, the Customer attempted to secure an appointment for a Vehicle Redemption on 1/14/25. However, the appointment could not be confirmed with the Customer due to the Vehicle had already been transported off lot to the Clients preferred auto auction facility early 1/13/25, before the Client sent Alpha Recovery the Redemption Release forms to allow Customer to pick up the Vehicle. The Customer was able to complete a Personal property Redemption appointment the following day on 1/15/25.

I purchased a motorcycle from *************************. We met on Monday July 15 at the Secretary of State wherein the title transfer was recorded. Arrangements were made to pick up the bike later that same day. When I arrived to pick up the bike, a strange man stopped me from moving the bike. ****************** was not present. We returned several hours later to pick up the bike and found Alpha Towing preparing to load the bike on their flat bed. "Driver' ***, claimed he was called to pick up an "abandoned bike". The "***" refused to release the bike, even though we showed him the title. He claimed that he needed to be paid for the "tow". Even we did not call the tow. He became physical with me and grabbed and twisted my arm as he tried to take the keys out of my hands. I am nearly 80 years old and in bad health. My younger brother **** and his wife were witness to the incident. *** stated he would not leave until he was given $500 cash. The person that called the tow truck company was on site at the time and she refused to pay the driver for the tow call. The girl that called or the tow we learned was *****'s daughter, named *****. We believe this was a scam to keep the bike and to scam more money out of me. We called the ****** police and a CFS 24-19172 was given. We asked for a receipt of his call request, and a receipt for the $ 500 and he refused to provide any.Alpha Towing does not appear to have a valid DOT number or a CVED number. I have not been able to locate a business license either. None of the aforementioned license numbers appear on their ******************** vehicle. Nor, have I been able to locate a physical address. I believe they have somehow attached their website to Riverview Towing which is a legitimate business in *********.

Alpha Towing and Recovery Company, LLC (Alpha Recovery) values the role of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) as a fair and trustworthy liaison severing in the best interest of all parties.  Below is our response to this Complaint.
The Claimant in this matter asserted that Alpha Recovery made an unlawful repossession attempt, and forced a tow payment from him during a Motorcycle title transaction. The Claimant mentioned a flatbed driver named *** had physically grabbed the Claimant to assume possession of the motorcycle keys. We would like to ascertain that this particular incident is not the behavior, nor process of Alpha Towing and Recovery's repossessions, as the Claimant alluded to the person selling the motorcycle to him was the person who called our company to secure the vehicle, and take money from him at the location.  The incident looks to have taken place within the Snowflake/****** AZ area, which we do not have any local personnel or offices to be able to be on site in such a manner to be involved with what took place. We do not employ any drivers named ***, and we also do take on personal towing assignments that require payments at the recovery locations, as all of our billing transactions are through the financial lenders we do our business for. We attempted to contact the Claimant, as we want to gain details on the people who did the tow and took his money, so we can investigate who would might be using our Company's name to instigate false repossessions and possible scamming of money and property from unsuspecting victims with the help of local authorities. We hope you find this Response satisfactory.  However, should you need further assistance, please contact me directly via the contact information listed below.

Alpha Recovery provides an online scheduling platform by which Customers are able to schedule appointments to retrieve vehicles and/or their personal items.  Additionally, Alpha Recovery utilizes email as the primary form of communication.  We do see that the Customer had requested a Vehicle Redemption Appointment on 6/28/24 at 3:39 P.M., and had scheduled their appointment for 7/5/24 at 11:30 A.M. Alpha Recovery's redemption team will contact and confirm redemption appointments 24 hours before the Customer's scheduled appointment time, as such due to the time that was selected on Alpha Recovery's website, the Customer was notified on 7/4, and informed of Fees needed to complete the appointment. Storage fees are stopped at time of receiving Vehicle Redemption notification by the Lender, which did arrive to Alpha on 6/29. Customer was charged for Two days of storage in addition to Redemption Fee.
As of 7/5/24, The Customer has successfully completed their Redemption appointment at our facility with no further concerns. I have tools in my vehicle that I need for my school. I am going to school to become an electrician and I do not have the money to replace my tools and I need them for class. Alpha Recovery provides an online scheduling platform by which customers are able to schedule appointments to retrieve vehicles and/or their personal items.  The Lender for this particular vehicle, requires the Complainant to contact theim to have a Personal Property Release sent to Alpha Towing and Recovery for authorization to have the Complainant's property released back to them at our facility. The Lender has not sent any Releases over at this time. The Complainant has been informed, at each instance of appointment declines, that they will need to reach their financial institute to have them send that Release for us to be able to confirm Redemption appointment.

Issues occurred at Alpha Recovery and Towing on ***************************************************. The business did not provide me with rates upon arrival. The woman in charge told me she did not know the rates and would not share any information. She told me to call the number on the door which transferred me to a call center in ***** where they were unable to provide me with any rate information either. I arrived to the towing company the same morning my vehicle was towed and they would not release it to me, which is illegal in *******. Again, no rate information and they would not release my vehicle when I was present. I had to ask the woman in charge three times for information and she finally told me they charge $30something for the day and $160something if it stays overnight but that I wouldnt have to pay that fee since they received my vehicle information before end of day but still could not release my vehicle. Rates are legally supposed to be visible and shown at arrival and she refused. I later in the day received a text saying the amount would be $185 CASH only and they would not allow to pay with debit/credit which is also illegal. The woman in charge tried to argue and said she told me this but she absolutely did refused when I initially arrived the morning of.

Hello, we appreciate the customer reaching out with their concerns.  Though privacy regulations prohibit us from commenting on this specific matter in a public forum, we can address some overall general concerns in hopes of resolving the matter.  The issues presented in this complaint apply to vehicle impoundment scenarios.  Alpha Recovery is not an impound company, but rather a repossession company.  In repossession scenarios, it is up to the lender to establish and communicate the fees owing to retrieve the vehicle.

In general, repossession companies require appointments to be scheduled 24 hours in advance in order to obtain all pertinent details and paperwork from lenders in order to accommodate the appointment.  Because repossession companies are not apprised of all fees owing by the lender until a customer has requested an appointment, it is difficult to accommodate customers or respond to their inquiries who arrive without an appointment.Again, we understand and appreciate the customer's concerns and respect the amount of research put into this matter.

In general, we strongly encourage customers to first obtain information from their lender, then schedule an appointment via our website.  We will then contact the customers to advise of all fees owing once we've obtained that information from their lenders and also confirm the appointment.

My family has been trying to recoup personal items that were taken. Someone at the company keeps telling them they only have a short turnaround time but then refuse them an appointment by phone. I have emailed using their publicly available information and no one has bothered returning a call or email as to getting an appointment. This is so disappointing. How scummy.

Car was repossessed, has been paid in full. Business will not return calls or email correspondence. I have been using their online portal scheduling system to arrange for pick up of my car, which they are repeatedly canceling without any explanation or conversation. The car has been fully paid off and there is no way to retrieve it. This complaint is echoed time and time again in their online reviews. Please look into this unethical and corrupt business. Waiting a month with 4 canceled pick up appointments for no apparent reason is severely impacting my life and work. I have done my part and this business is an absolute scam.

They towed my car (repossession) and when I spoke to my auto finance company (Ally), they were confused as I had only missed 1 payment. There is damage to my front yard and pieces of grey plastic from my car in the road. The company supposedly closes at 4pm, but I showed up at 2 and no one was there. No one answers their phone (recording only) and they have no appointments until mid day Tuesday after taking it on a Thursday morning. This is undoubtedly a shady practice to log additional days they can charge for. I need my wedding rings and several other valuables from the car and they have multiple complaints alleging stolen property. Additionally, I need to take pictures for Ally of any possible damage to the vehicle ASAP to file a claim and possibly take legal action.
