If I could give way below 1 star I would like NO stars. This **** is the worst. I blew my right knee out in March of 2024, they kept denying g an *** stated they didn't have enough information from doctor. I wound up paying for the *** myself to find severe damage to knee. ***, kept denying me but I finally got surgery in July 2024. Now my endocrinologist want a CT scan of my abdomen for tumors, yet *** has denied me again. Maybe it's time to get my attorney involved.

I have gone back and fourth with *** to get an approval for a back injection and all they say is we need more information just like everyone else complains. I have been in pain for years and finally found a pain dr that is accepted by my insurance and the first procedure was great now these scumbags are just giving me the runaround that they need more info. But cannot tell me specifically what they need when the first injection worked great without any of this runaround.

Wednesday January 24, ****, was not feeling well. Went to ************ They ran an EKG, came back abnormal, indicating possible old MI. Went straight to ER. Their EKG indicated same. Made an appointment with a cardiologist for the following Monday, January 29, ****. Cardiologist immediately ordered an Echocardiogram and a Nuclear Stress Test. Unfortunately, my crappy, substandard insurance requires a prior authorization for both tests. Today is Tuesday, February 6, ****, and I have yet to receive authorization from *********************** for both of these tests, despite two abnormal EKGs, and despite a cardiologist ordering both tests within a minute of walking into my exam room. This company gets paid to deny testing, and they get paid to make insurance companies money. The more they deny, the more money they make, and the more insurance companies save. *** and insurance companies want you to die, because that means they dont have to pay for expensive testing and healthcare treatment. They want you to become frustrated and to say forget it, because again it saves them money. The longer *** takes to approve services, the longer an insurance company gets to keep money in their pockets.

This company is the worse to obtain authorizations. They make the process so much more difficult and required not only NPI number of the facility but also Tax number as well which most company does not required. They will literally make you start the whole process over when you don't have the tax number to a facility. It seems that this company doesn't have any facility information that they can look ** in their database so they required everything. This process is inefficient and so much time is wasted with each phone call. Took me a total 50 minutes from start to finished just to submit an authorization request.

I have a heart condition and recently have had sepsis, Cardiologist would like to do a nuclear stress test as he feels i could not complete the yearly treadmill test. *** has automatically denied the request twice, due to what they say is DR not submitting documentaion. BULL. *** has also denied a ct scan of my abomin to check the damaged Kidney from the sepsis. Their job it seems is to have you die before you cost to much!

For the SECOND TIME in 18 months, I am awaiting an approval from the "Surgery Nurse" at *** for major surgery which is supposed to be performed TOMORROW!!! The order has been in since the end of June (it is now 7/18/22!!) and still NOTHING! Does ANYONE have a heart anymore? Does anybody care about the patient??? For Heaven's sake, I am supposedly scheduled to have MAJOR SURGERY done tomorrow and I still don't know if I am having it! I have rearranged my entire life (my 95yo Mom who is on ******* care lives with me and I am her primary caregiver, we have 16 animals at home that I care for, I have a nurse scheduled to arrive this evening to live with us for 2-3 months to care for me and my family while I am recovering from this surgery) and yet I don't even know if I am having it!! I have called *** and Blue Shield many times and was told by *** that I (the patient!) am to call my surgeon and have them call the *** Surgery Nurse! I did this and it was done on Friday yet, here it is less than 24 hours before my scheduled surgery, and I still don't know if I am approved or denied!!! Let it be known that I can barely walk at this point and my back desperately is in need of this procedure. This is criminal and downright CRUEL. Last year, when this happened, it upset me so that I had my first (and only) A-Fib even with my heart!! Now, because of that, I am on Eliquis 2x/day and Multaq 2x/day!!! I am trying to stay calm but... honestly... how can I??? Blue Shield needs to find another company to expeditiously handle their workload or get *** to change their ways! If this has happened to me two times in less than 18 months, I can only imagine how many others this is happening to. I am a 30-year-******** Retiree and, if we had run our Office this way, we all would have been fired on the spot! *** is awful and, if there is any way to get around them, I would.
