      Speed Connect closed its office in our town, ***********, **. There is no way to contact them to terminate our terrible service we received from them. We had their equipment uninstalled and had another internet company connect us. We still have their equipment and they are welcome to retrieve it. Our monthly charge was approximately $65. We have not had their service for 2 months and they are still trying to collect from my credit card.

      Evidently they have closed their business without notifying customers. Internet is not working yet they sent an e-mail stating the automatic payment will be deducted on Aug 1st. Called every phone number I can find to stop payment but all offices are closed.

      Ive been getting internet service from SpeedConnect since 2012 and have paid them on time every month by check. I sent my last check #**** on 9/21/22 the billing notice date and due on 10/10/22 as always to : SpeedConnect, **** Momentum Place, *******, Ill. 60689-5318 Shortly after sending my monthly payment in Sept. our service went out. It did this often and we called to report and find out when service would resume. They said they are no longer serving my area rural Johnson County **. very close to *********. They told ** that they would send me a refund for my payment of $49.95. They havent yet and every time weve called they said its on its way. Today is Feb.27, 2023 and no refund . I realize its not a large amount of money but Im a senior on a fixed budget and I could use it towards a new internet company. How do I proceed from here to get my money back. It was very unprofessional how they just up and quit . They obviously did have many problems with serving our area but no notice ? No refund after being a good customer for many years?       I have been a SpeedConnect customer since they took over from **********************. My husband and I each have a separate email account with them however the primary account itself is in my name, *********************. I have never been happy with their policy of monitoring our outgoing emails and refusing to send out anything they did not approve of, such as jokes or funny stories, or cartoons, and sent them an email about it, but never got a response. I have also repeatedly asked them to credit my account for the numerous times they have been off line, sometimes for days at a time, when I have been without the internet. I tried recently to contact them by email about an issue where they stated they were changing their procedures for handling spam email and though they changed my husband's email to reflect the change, they didn't change mine. I sent several emails about it but never received an answer. Then on November 15, 2022, I received an email from them stating my account was overdue as they had not received my October payment. I called SpeedConnect rather than emailing them (since they never respond) and luckily got through to a CSR named ****. He told me to contact my bank, because SpeedConnect would need proof of the payment. I did so, and subsequently sent a photocopy of the cashed check to SpeedConnect. At that time I asked for a reply stating that they received my proof of payment. I have since requested a reply twice more with still no response. I am fed up with their totally unprofessional conduct and care less attitude toward their customers. Plus, I WANT TO KNOW that my payment has been credited to my account.

      Problems with service, tried numerous times to contact business representatives for weeks through all contact numbers available locally and nationally. Cannot get a hold of anyone, no option to leave message. Can't even cancel my service, on an autopay of $74 per month. Online reviews all indicate the same business practices. I desire a BBB complaint on this business so I can get resolution. Thank you
