I am writing to file a formal complaint against this *************************** for multiple violations of the ******* Landlord Tenant Act.. My lease ended on 9-30-23, I encountered significant issues with this company and the denial of my right to a joint walkthrough to confirm:1. Pet F**** Removal from common area $200- Disputed this fabricated charge that $200 is excessive.2. Comforter Replacement $369.57 and a new ******** Beach Appliance - Charged for the replacement of normal wear and tear items after 18 months of occupancy. Not approved purchase of an additional appliance for the kitchen.3. Missing Subdivision Remote $100 - Erroneous claim, as the remote was returned with other items.4. Miscellaneous Repairs $700 Unjustified charges categorized as normal wear and tear by the Landlord Tenant Act.5. Carpet Cleaning $1,000 in Excessive charges falling under normal wear and tear . Had an additional charge of $350 for Sofa steam cleaning. 6. New Sofa and Lounge Chair ($1,398.17)- Charged me for a brand new sofa and an additional lounge chair set that did not exist during my rental term. This is despite a $350 charge for professional steam cleaning of the existing sofa. Note: The sofa was fully depreciated after 18 months of use.7. Most importantly, the company refused to allow a joint walkthrough in violation of the ******* Landlord Tenant Act.I seek a thorough investigation into these matters and request a refund of the disputed charges. Furthermore, I believe appropriate disciplinary action by the BBB is warranted after reading the negative ************ and ******** reviews of tenants that experienced similar violations by the Company for their failure to adhere to the ******* Landlord Tenant Act.I appreciate the BBB's attention to consumer grievances and trust that a fair and impartial review of my case will lead to a just resolution. I look forward to your prompt response.*******

I leased a seasonal property in ********** from Mackey-Martin, beginning in November, 2022 and ending March 31, 2023.Since we moved in we found the unit was infected with cockroaches and even though they have send out two people to spray they were ineffective and we continue to find 2-5 roaches daily. The only shower is in the tub and floor of the tub is like glass. They put in a mat that was faulty, causing me to slip and break three ribs. I went to the emergency room and have had limited mobiltiy because of the issue. This caused great pain and suffering. We have other issues as well and Mackey Martin refuses to *************. They are relying on the lease agreement to escape damages.

    Business Response

    Date: 01/04/2024

When the tenant first notified us of his alleged slip and fall, he reported he had already fallen twice before.  The bath mat in question was not provided by Mackey Martin Group and the tenant could have replaced the bath mat with one he was more comfortable with.    Immediately upon reporting to us that the bath tub was slippery we offered the tenant a new mat of his choosing which was refused. In an effort to further assist a grab bar was installed in the tub proactively the same or next day.   We cannot respond to unknown issues that the tenant claims we refused to address. We abide by the law and the lease and do not "hide" behind our duties.  We wish the tenant the best.

We paid an application fee to rent a house back in 03/2022. The house was not available to rent until 10/01/2022, but they would take our application fee to hold our place as the next tenants. They even told us that the current tenants would be moving and that the place was ours. They told us in June that they would be writing up a lease for us and sending it right over. August, they had not sent over a lease nor would they communicate via email, text or phone call. We were conned out of our application fees and we still cannot get connected with their office to get our fees back. Ive called weekly for the past couple of months, attempted texts, attempted emails. There has been 0 communication or response to my attempts. My fianc and I paid 150 total and had our credit checked. We want our money back and our information erased from this company.
