Around March 23, I had a Suntria Salesperson come to my house. I was promised that the solar panels would save me money on electricity and improve the value of my home. During the same time frame, I was getting a new roof. I specifically told the young man that I did not want any damages. He assured me that his technicians were "professionals". I got the solar panels installed around June in which their young technicians made a mess all over the yard leaving debris including nails. Then during the raining season, I discovered leaks. I did call them and was told they would cover the cost for the roofer to come out. When I called the roofer, he had told me that he had not received payment. This occurrence (the leaks) happened on 2 separate occasions. The panels also did not function correctly for several months. After having a few technicians come to reinstall and rewire, the panels showed as functioning in the app. However, there was no relief in my electric bill and when I inquired about this I was told that I must be using more than I am producing and then I was told that I live in a coop area therefore, I would not see relief. So now I pay a full electric bill and a solar bill. Then, I was also promised that I would get $15,000 back for my taxes as an energy credit. Not true, what I got was the taxes I had paid back for that year, causing an increase in my solar panel bill in December since I couldn't make the full amount to bring the balance down. Now, I'm at a point where I want to sell my house. Unfortunately, my realtor tells me that I would have to remove the solar panels because his other clients do not want the panels without a battery. I did inquired about that too to Suntria. I was told that it would have cost me an additional $17,000. When I inquired about my payoff amount, I had only paid off less than $200 since I had started payments of Aug. 23. This has caused me so much anxiety that I have had to start medication. I just want this to go away.Business Response

Good afternoon, My name is ******* ********, and I am the Legislative Assistant to Representative *****. We've had a constituent, an older gentleman reach out to us about some solar panels he was deceived into buying. He was told solar panel installation on houses was agreed upon by the state and federal governments, and presumably that it was mandatory for him to buy them. The transaction happened around mid-December 2024. He was charged $24,012 through a monthly $92 payment that goes on for 25 years. They were also told after 18 months they would have to pay an additional $7,200. The gentleman states he didn't even receive paperwork. The company that made the panels was "Enphase" and the seller is "Suntria". Unfortunately, it sounds like he has been scammed by deceptive salesmen. After only a 10 second ****** search, I found an identical case like this in ******** just a little less than 2 years ago " ***************************************************************************************** ". The constituent is principally wondering if he has been scammed and if so, how he can get out of the mess. Furthermore, he does not want the solar panels and asked to get them removed to which he was told no. He also wants to know what the onetime charge of $7200 is and why he has no paperwork from the transaction whatsoever. The company has not tried to resolve the issue, only telling him that they won't remove the solar panels. I have the constituent's personal information if you will reach out to me by email so that you may contact him. I am going to be reaching out to the AG's office as well to see if they can help. Anything you can do at all for this older gentleman and his wife would be greatly appreciated.Sincerely,******* ******** Legislative Assistant | ********************************* Representative **** ***** Education Oversight Chair HD 26 Office: ************** Email: ********************** ***************************************************************************************************************Business Response

"Accepting" this won't solve anything as the business asked for the name and address of the customer, so I will need the ******************** to continue to work with us. However, I can provide Suntria with the victim's information if they will reach out to me by my email at " **************************** ". I won't provide it in this response since we're not advised to input personally sensitive information, such as the victim's address.

We had solar installed in april of 2024.Our solar salesman, **** from suntria, misrepresented information on the federal solar tax credit. He told us it was a refund that we would get to put towards the bill to keep our payment what is has been the last year. We did not receive this "refund" it is a credit and we didn't get enough back to pay our bill down the 10k he said we would get. I call goodleap to get more information and they said I would have to wait for 2 years basically to make that 10k back to pay them. I need to get my account to 25k for my payment to stay the same but like I said we didn't get that in the form of a refund like we were toldBusiness Response

In March 2024, we purchased a solar system from Suntria, which went live in April. Our contract states we should receive a 74% offset in electricity usage, but we're only achieving around 30%. Two months ago, we contacted Suntria and provided everything they asked for, including electric bills. We also spoke with ***********, which confirmed that our billing accurately reflects solar production, and it appears the system as installed cannot meet the stated contract offset.Despite our repeated requests for a solution, weve seen no meaningful progress from Suntria. Weve asked multiple times to speak with management or get their direct contact details, but none have been provided. We even submitted a contact form on the corporate website, with no response. A customer service representative did acknowledge the system is underperforming, but nothing further has been done. Meanwhile, our original salespersons email now bounces back as invalid, suggesting they are no longer with the company. Were concerned Suntria may be delaying resolution until our contract hits the one-year ***** after which we could lose important leverage to have this addressed. We urge Suntria to act promptly, communicate clearly, and honor the terms of our contract.Business Response

There is a list of complaints I have about this company. First there was a change of plans where the solar panels were supposed to be without any notification from me. So now there are some solar panels that are not reaching their full potential due to being behind a chimney, which is pointless. After the installation there was trash scattered on my lawn pieces of metal, cardboard, and plastic. Next they were supposed to tie in my previous solar panels to be included with the new ones. During installation they cut the power to the previous ones so there were a few months that those were not even in production. After communicating back and forth for a few weeks they finally came out to correct that. Since the installation there have been numerous errors with the report, and they were great about communicating when techs were coming to look. These issues started in summer 2024. Now it is now March 2025 the errors are still there. The most recent person that came out there was no warning. He just showed up asked to see my panel inside my house and then went outside. There was no indication he was with the company. After multiple people have been here there has been lots of trash where the boxes are located that was not picked up. The trash includes wire cuttings, metal bits, screws, ***** of wire, and plastic bits. I assumed that with each tech they would have cleaned up their mess. I guess I was wrong to assume. I had let my dog out the other day and noticed he had something in his mouth. It was a piece of wire cutting left by Suntria techs. I have reached out to Suntria upset about how my dog could have been badly injured if I had not noticed the amount of trash that they left behind. There has not been a response yet. I have picture proof of the negligence of the company to clean up after themselves. These items could have injured anyone if they were hit by a mower, a kid found them, or even an animal, which is the case in this situation.Business Response

February 28th 2025 is when the event took place. I was specific on just talking and listening then I was coaxed by the main guy to initial and I specifically asked what I'm signing because it was just a blank page with a box to sign and he reassured me it was just to make sure I'm me in his words. What was only to take 30 minutes out of my day off, took 2 hours and I listened intently, they took pictures and that's when I just was uncomfortable. The main guy asked to do more with the process and that's when I said listen, this is my day off and I told you I had plans. About an hour later I was with my friend and she was witness to me texting and on a phone call to cancel and he never would text me about the cancel, just continue to sell. The following day I text numerous times to cancel and he told me to call him and he had a way to get me out of it... another scam. He again, reassured me, setting I was upset so we called this number and he groomed me to say yes so we could further cancel it in 2 weeks then changed it to 3...I know I have consumer rights. So with further research, I found the cancel email and it states that I have 3 business days to cancel, so I contacted my lawyer and he told me to go forward with the email. I also sent a cancel email to the other company. Received the email that I would be contacted and this doesn't count as a cancel, so I have to wait around while they are off on the weekend, so I'm frantic, stressed and have an anxiety attack over it. I haven't slept and I cannot stop shaking. I'm not eating, this is all so messed up and he further scammed me by making that call to make the process go faster. They are all lying weasels and i feel violated in my own home.Business Response

The solar panels installed on my property do not function as advertised or in the closing documents. The closing documents state that the offset to our electricity usage is estimated to be 62% of our power usage. The solar panels do not even cover 28% of our usage. Suntria even told us that we were the problem using too much electricity, then they tell us in December of 2024 we need to wait a couple more months until the panels "warm up" even though the panels had been installed for a year at that point and we never saw even a slight benefit from them during the summer of 2024. We have filed a complaint with the Attorney General and will be pursuing legal action if this problem is not resolved.Business Response

We were mislead on everything that was sold to us. I am 90 years old and on a fixed income, I thought this was such a good deal eliminating an electric bill. Well, I get an electric bill that is much higher than normal plus have to pay a monthly fee to Suntria. This is unacceptable.Business Response

Hi, my name is ********* *******. A little over a year ago, I went through with a purchase of Solar panels involving a company called Suntria. I signed documents around April 2023, but installation wasn't done until Oct. 2023. Involving a loan for the panels with ********. It was the biggest mistake I have ever made. I am usually really smart when it comes to finances, but this time I really dropped the ball. Letting myself fall into a trap. I researched the company, not the "product/contract". I always wanted solar panels because I thought they are good for the environment and could save money. In dealing with the agent from Suntria, I feel I was very misinformed and have been suffering the consequences ever sense. First, I signed the documents and didn't realize I would only be given three days to review before contract would be set in place and no longer able to dispute or cancel. I was under the impression I would only be charged for the panels, and Suntria would buy back the energy cost from the electric provider. However, I am paying for the panels at $192 and the electric bill on top which is an extra $100. But most of all, I was told by the agent I would have no problem selling the house no matter what length of time I want to after purchasing panels and it would only add value to the home and property. Unfortunately, that is far from the truth and can only sell house if I pay off entire amount of loan about $47,000, at closing, or 30% of the loan and then the buyer can sign off ownership. It is not possible otherwise. I cannot do the 30%, because I haven't received the $14,000 the agent promised me from government assistance, because he basically lied about that as well, regarding the fact that one pays nothing but interest the first year and after 15 months I still have not gained access to the $14,000 incentive. I am in horrible shape financially, and this deal has been the blunt of it. Massive s**** up, and unfortunate. Need help. Hope no one else falls.Business Response

Fraudulent inducement. Frauded me on how much i would save ,how much i would get back from the government they said ****** it was *****. My ************** inspection failed because they only put 2 screws on the brackets instead of three. they did this on every single panel. They LIED on every question we asked.
