A salesman from Suntria Solar, Xander, came to my door at the end of April trying to sell solar panels. I told him I wasnt interested since I live alone and dont pay that much for electricity. He said I wouldnt be paying anything up front and that the panels are paid for by Suntria. I showed him my Duke Energy bill; the highest I paid in the summer is around $175, in the winter around $80/month. I told him repeatedly there was no way I was going to pay for solar if it was more than what I currently paid, and he agreed that he wouldnt offer it to me if it turned out to be more. He returned on April 30 and said I would only be paying $86.57/month (plus Duke Energy portion of about $15/month) plus the cost would go up 3 % each year. I told him repeatedly he had better not be lying to me. I asked what would happen if I sold my house; he said I would pay around $250 to cancel. Another lie! I wasnt aware that I was signing a 25-year contract amounting to $**********!! The installers put the panels on my roof (May 16, 2024). I reached out ********** ******** who is holding the lease) to have the panels removed since they hadnt been inspected yet and the power wasnt turned on, and they told me I would have to pay approximately $18,000 for the panels plus labor fees! I reached back out to Suntria ********* *****, and Xander). ****** called ONCE while I was at work, didnt leave a message, and NO ONE has tried to contact me since; I sent several emails to them. They have all gone silent! I am 65 years old and was hoping to retire this year; I feel like Ive been taken advantage of. I would be paying around $175 EACH month in later years, I dont pay anywhere near that now!! I am so distraught and upset over this whole transaction! Then panels have NOT been INSPECTED after installation but now they want to turn the system on (I havent responded to the text). Suntria has lied to me from the beginning; I want these panels removed at NO FEE to me!!!

I am rejecting Suntria's response as they did not follow up with me in June after I sent this info and this has NOT been resolved.  I was still charged $125 from Duke Energy and am being charged $87 for the solar panels,  so there hasn't been any savings at all!  I called Duke Energy; they said this system isn't producing any kwh worth saving me any money!  So I called Enphase, the manufacturer of these solar panels - they looked at my account and agreed with Duke Energy that this system isn't producing enough kwh for the size of my house and that I should've been given 20 panels instead of 10.  The rep of Enphase will back me up on this.  I complained many times to Suntria and LightReach (the owner of the contract) and Suntria finally sent someone to look at the electrical box, and before he even looked at it, he told me that 10 panels will not work for the size of my house, that I should have 20, and he's an installer!  So Suntria installed a product that is NEVER going to work; I'm going to be paying two bills each month, one from Duke Energy and one from LightReach!!  If I have to get 10 more panels for this system to work, then Suntria should pay for them since they made the mistake to begin with.  Otherwise, I want them removed at NO COST TO ME!

Suntria is a scam company and only care about selling panels, not about what happens afterwards!

My desired resolution would be to have the solar panels removed as they are not working according to the size of my house as stated above!

This company scammed me. They came to my door offering solar panels. I told them I simply wanted more information and the guy ran my credit for financing, which I absolutely did not ask for or agree to. When contact the company to rectify, they told me there is an almost $6,000 cancelation few! For something I did not ask for or agree to. I want this canceled with no fee and the pull against my credit removed immediately. If this does not happen immediately, I will go to all local news stations, social media and obtain a lawyer. It should also be noted that I have two witnesses that were present. I am an old man and this is also elder abuse. This company needs to be held accountable for their lies and deception

Hello iam (*************************) contacting you because my father( ******************************) had solar panels installed with Suntria and what they had told him was that if he got the solar panels installed he wouldnt have to pay a bill form the ***** power anymore and would only pay the solar panel bill. His ***** power bill was $180 a month. And the solar bill is $211 a month they also promised that ****** would come and install a new breaker box in his house because it was to old. They convinced him to purchase the panels. So they installed the panels in October 2023and told him his first payment would be in February 2024 and that he wouldnt get a power bill anymore. My father is 66 years old is on ssd and is disabled his wife disabled as well they only get $1300 a month form ssd/ssi. He has been getting power bills ($230a month) and his solar panel bills($211) we called ***** power and they suggested we get ahold of you because the solar companys promise a lot of things just for people to purchase the panels and dont fallow threw with what they say. We have called ****** and they said that the sales representative would call him and he did finally call but said that he was supposed to sign a paper from ***** power so that they wouldnt charge him anymore. We never received any paperwork, and my dad told him he cant be paying 2 bills thats not what the agreement they told him. He just doesnt know what to do now in this situation he asked them to remove the panels because he cant pay 2 bills a month they said they cant remove them. They basically forced him to get the solar panels. Because I had called them when my father was sent the contract and I explained to him that it was a lot of money and he doesnt file taxes it wouldnt be benefit him. So I called Suntra and told them we werent interested in it and we werent going to go threw with it I had called around noon and then around 6 pm 2 of there sales reps showed up at our door one claimed to speak Spanish but it wasnt all that great so I had to intervene and translate for my dad, they were angry because we had called to cancel and they just kept asking him why are you canceling we want to know he explained them that he was retired and didnt have the money to pay and he didnt do taxes and they said that who ever lives in the house hold can file the taxes and put that they had solar installed basically clam them. They saw my dad was venerable and they took advantage of him. ***** power told ** that they are taking advantage of older people that this wasnt the first time someone calls about them. ************************* **********

I was approached by ****** with this company and after rejecting his invitation to hear about solar we were assured they were not like other companies. We sat at our kitchen table which is monitored by a nest camera and records 60 days worth of history for us to keep. During this interaction we were assured this is the best deal, the best power amount, nothing was needed from us and they will do all the work. Nothing was mentioned of a cancellation policy and nothing was mentioned of permit fees. The conversation was recorded with audio and video. During this interaction we were focused on numbers and what made sense for our family and told that they would be better than other solar companies, they are pros, and nothing will be out of our pocket, they will take care of everything. In consistently sent emails to them asking about permits and they assured me they are taking care of them. I’ve reached out multiple times when we receive an email with a bill for a permit and they assured me they were taking care of it. White glove service as described. Found out later their definition of we are taking care of it, they built these costs into my loan and did not say anything about it. I reached out with multiple promos and quotes being lower and was given the run around and said those companies will screw you over. After 2 1/2 months in we have a nasty taste in our mouths, we aren’t happy with the service and we received a quote from another company with 1 percent lower on the rate, more power and opened our eyes to a lot of things this company failed to disclose. Their lending options were predatory for 780+ credit scores compared to the peers, the loan was astronomical for solar panels that do not produce energy for me to use but for the company to use and take in the benefits. They did not disclose we may not qualify for the rebate based on taxes putting us higher in a payment each month and did not disclose we were way under powered. We canceled and are being bullied.

The sales reps from Suntria Solar approached me with a Solar offer with deceit. I knew this after the cancelation period was over. They hurried up to start working on my home when I found out that what they had promised was not in the contract although I have text messages from the sales rep stating otherwise. Now they want to charge me with cancellation free of 7k approximately and threatened to send case to collections. *** the manager indicates that they may have said it but it's not in the contract. My understanding that because of this, the contract becomes invalid as it was based on false sales.

We were LIED to, and it seems as though no one in your company wishes to address this basic fundamental of establishing trust and confidence with your company.there are 2 pending accounts *********************************************************************** expect cancellations processed at BOTH addresses, with 0 fines, fees, bills, credit repercussions or the like. While i appreciate your acknowledgement that my services have been cancelled, this does not address ANY of the interaction with the misrepresentation of your company or your contract, nor does it address the invoice i have received with threat of collections if i do. This has happened to god only knows how many people, at 30k a pop, over 30 years, with a undersized system, so id be paying both loan and electric bill, and my option im sure would be to upgrade...at a cost.....so, yea lets address this.

Date:2/5/2024 Amount disputed 32000$ Suntria committed to provide me a Solar panel system for my home. during the evaluation, the representative inquires as to what i pay for electricity, then advises me that i need this system, 10 panels, no battery cause ******* does net metering. ******* also states "that we have 90 days to cancel, and let me just get your info, you may not qualify" truth is you have 3 days to cancel, after 3 days he starts the clock on charges....for an undersized solar panel system that you now have a 30 year commitment to pay on, without a battery you need because ******* does NOT provide net metering. Do not allow this slime into your house. They lie straight to your face and there is 0 response or reprucussions, i am patiently waiting for a resolution.

      Business Response

      Date: 06/07/2024

      Good morning!

Your contract has been cancelled, if you have any questions or concerns please contact ******** who has been in contact with you in the past. Thank you

      Customer Answer

      Date: 06/09/2024

Yes, my contract was cancelled. i cancelled my contract because ******* lied to me, he manipulated his numbers to try to sell me a system that was almost the same price as my current electric bill. that system is grossly undersized. Suntria does not guarantee output, so when i realize that this system will never perform to what i need it to, im sure id have to pay for an upgrade through you guys during this 30 year commitment. ******* then explained that we may not qualify for the loan anyways, just sign and we'll see (this is when the charge clock starts) i explained to ******* that while we're seeing if we qualify, I wanted to research more information on Suntria. Since ******* was moving he'd be in touch in a week to discuss some different financing incentives. I researched Suntria, this was a horrible idea, push eject. two weeks later (one week after moving) ******* reaches out with a bill for services charged since the signing of the contract, we verify that our cancellation went through, but the hassling continues. I contacted the police, sherrifs department, ***** D A, KSAG, and the BBB. Suntria played the BBB game for the first complaint but no one from suntria has ever contacted me, i dont know who the f*ck ******** is, I have dealt with ******* (the liar), ***** who keeps texting me for referrals to send to suntria, and **** who is the only one who has done anything and verified our cancelled contract. At one time i was interested in sharing my horrid experience with anyone at your company that cared, but i have exhausted that route, so i would rather share my horrid experience...with everyone else because NOONE deserves to be railroaded into this BS.

      Business Response

      Date: 06/14/2024

Good afternoon, we have forwarded your response to our Sales VP about *******, since your contract has been cancelled please let us know if there is anything else we can do

      Customer Answer

      Date: 06/18/2024

So, 131 days later, your solution is to forward my complaint to a "Sales VP"???? Would you like to provide me with the name of that fictional person? Or just copy me in on that, I'd love to actually see Suntria do something they said they would do. So far there are 3 people representing your company in this SCAM, *** who knocked on my door hustling up people at home to listen to *******, who had the deal of a lifetime. Then ****, no issues with him did his job and processed and verified my cancellation. Other than that, Suntria is a ghost company that encourages sales tactics that are extremely predatory. You guys have no idea what you are selling, what net metering is, what companies and municipalities do and do not provide net metering. ******* was more interested in trying to bandwagon and provide me with testamonial videos....oh and get those signatures, we'll need that to run your credit, you may not even qualify.

So after 2 BBB complaints, contacting the *******************, Gardner City Council, Citizens for Future of *******, Johnson County *************, ************** DA, ***************************** CH4, 5, 9, 19, 29, 38, and 41, ...you want to send my complaint to a sales vp, do your thing, this is beyond appaling at this point.

My solar panels were installed by Premier Solar who were bought out by Suntria. I had my roof replaced back in August 2023 and called Suntria to schedule an appointment for them to come out to remove the solar panels. On 8/10/2023, after paying the invoice fee in full, Suntria was scheduled to come back to reinstall and activate the panels. Once they received the check my problems with this company started. After missing several appointments, they finally installed my solar panels, it only took them five weeks and multiple missed appointments. Then I am told they were unable to activate the panels because the app was down and they would have to send someone out to activate them. I called and emailed the company to schedule yet another appointment for this to be done and again no one called or showed up. I called Suntria and ******** stated she would look into it. I called my local electric company to come out to inspect the panels and the inspection failed. The electric company informs me the panels are not connected; there is no power. I emailed the results to Suntria requesting them to come out and finish the job with no success. The panels have been up since September and nothing has been done to resolve this situation. As of December 2023, Suntria has just flat out ignored all of my calls and emails and have made no attempt to contact me. I want the installation of my solar panels completed, to pass inspection, and in working condition. Due to the negligence of the company I want to be compensated the difference on my electric bill for every month the panels are not working. This is the worst company I have ever had the nightmare of working with. They are quick to take your money, they dont communicate, and they dont finish the work they promise. I dont understand why it is so hard for Suntria to complete a job they were paid to do. If this doesnt get resolved through the BBB I will have no choice but to seek legal action for theft.

Actually, I was the one who reached out to Alberto Tuesday afternoon 3/19/21 after no one showed up or called Monday (not surprised) and was informed my appointment was pushed back to Thursday 3/21/24 or Friday 3/22/24. Alberto promised if the crew did not make it out on Friday as promised he himself would drive out 3/22/24 to complete the job and make sure it passes inspection.  I will consider this complaint resolved once the job is complete, the panels pass inspection, are working properly, and I am compensated the difference in my electricity bill the six months they took to complete the job.

They contacted me and scheduled an appointment to come out on 3/18/24, no one showed up. Mr. Guel then rescheduled my appointments 4 more timeseach time no one called or showed up. On the last appointment he assured me if no one show up he himself would come down and finish the job. So, when no one showed up and I texted him asking if he was on his way, he responded with no, he was in Houston and wouldn't be driving all the way to San Antonio just to flip a switch. I explained to him it was not as simple as flipping a switch because the power company explained there was no power going to the system and there were missing stickers that were needed to pass inspection. Mr. Guel became argumentative and proceeded to tell me he was doing his best and how he took this job to help me out. I explained to him he was not doing me any favors because I paid for a service in full last year and Suntria did not fulfill their end of the contract, they were in breach of contract. He's not helping me out by making promises to show up and finish the job when he has no intentions of keeping those promises. Last time I heard from him was 3/30/24, stating he was still trying to get a tech out the following Monday. Imagine my surprise when no one called or showed up, again.
So, to answer your question, no, they have not addressed the issue or made any attempts or plan on making any attempts to visit my home to address the issue.  I emailed the company and was ignored just like the other emails I've sent before. I still have solar panels that are not working, I'm out $6,000 plus the cost of having to hire another company to finish the job (if I can find one), and the extra I'm paying on my electricity bill the panels are supposed to be saving me (when they are working).

I did receive a call from the same person who promised me the job would be done back in March of this year only for no one to show up on all 5 rescheduled appointments. He said the same thing as last time he’s putting me on the schedule for this Wednesday 6/5/24. I reject the companies response until they actually follow through with their promise to show up and fix the issue, pass inspection, and I get compensated for the months the panels were out of service due to their negligence. Once this is all done then and only then will I consider the issue resolved.

We purchased a Solar Package from Suntria in April of ********************************************* June 2023 Permits were pulled for the work, but they failed to pass Twice After many attempts with Ada County and Suntria coming out to our home, We got final approval of the Permits 7 months later.Suntria has been asked to come complete the Software and Training of System with us so we can be up and running. They have scheduled appointments on 2 occassions with us, but then they don't show up. We are just asking to get our system up and running and be able to tell if it is working as designed.

They dug a trench to run power from our electrical box as we have all our electrical under ground they said it wouldn't be a problem. Left it half filled in. Also they had to break up our concrete sidewalk to also run wire to the back of the house they have not fixed it as of yet and we are 30 days out. Also none of our plans showed galvanized conduct running on my black roof from front to back. They tried to say my contract is with a custom pro and blew me off. No where in our contract that we have signed says anything about custom pro. It just says Suntria
