Purchased a 2012 Mercedes Benz from Drive Time in New Castle, Delaware. Basically Drive Time is giving me a hard time replacing the vehicle due to no claim being sent in from a in network provider with Silver Rock due to not being able to get fixed there they told me I needed to take the vehicle to a Mercedes Benz dealer to get it fixed, which is 2-3 hours from where I live. I’m a retired veteran with 4 kids and do not have the time or money to take the vehicle where they said I need to take it. Please help!Business Response

I bought my 2013 jetta gli in March. The company if affiliated with silver rock warranty which ever covered anything that was wrong with my car. I told corporate they sold me a lemon of a car and they refused to refund me fully. My car is now misfiring 6 months later and their warranty place told me to go to meineke. They misdiagnosed the car and the warranty wouldn’t cover anything once again. So I canceled it and since the problem never went away , it is now a covered component seeing that the car needs a brand new engine since cylinder 2 is not working. At the time of diagnoses . I had coverage. Now I don’t. I need help either fully refund my car because it’s a lemon. Or getting this last thing fixed as it should’ve been covered the first day of doing a diagnosticBusiness Response

I recently filed a complaint on this business. The complaint was closed out due to the company telling me the issue would be resolved but it is still on going. I purchased a car from this business on aug 11 2022 the AC went out the same day I have on record the complaint to drivetime on the same day. On the 13th of august my check engine light came on I also have record of me telling drivetime about the issue I was recommended to go to a repair shop listed that I was given my car was dropped off twice and my check engine light has still not went off. I spoke to ********* which is over the bbb complaint with drivetime and was told to take my car to the JEEP dealership which was dropped off Saturday September 24th to get diagnosed and I just received a call from the dealership (jeep) to be told that none of my issues with the car will be covered and I will have to pay out of pocket. I reached out to you guys and drivetime within my 30 day warranty and took my car twice to be repaired within my 30 days and I explained to ********* (with drivetime) that I should not be responsible for these issues. ********* also told me that the deductibles would be waived and I would not have to pay out of pocket that she just needed the review of the diagnostic test and she would work to get the issues resolved. From the diagnostic test the EVAP HOSE need to be replace. There is a leak in the RADIATOR and a issue with the AC. How does this happen? I have been complaining about this car since I left the lot and I am VERY DISAPPOINTED AND I AM NOT SATISFIED with how drivetime is handling this issue. THESE ISSUES SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED WITHIN MY 30 day warranty and was not and still isn’t! I left a voicemail this morning to ********* about the information I was just provided from JEEP dealership and have not been reached back out to. I really feel I have been cheated out of my money with this car. I was sold a car that was not meant to be sold at all. I really need y’all’s helpBusiness Response

I got a car threw drivetime september 2020. In January they replaced my engine and they had my car for 2 months . My car again was in the shop for 2 weeks to replace the turbo. I got my car back on Friday September 23,2022, just for it to go out again on the Highway and I had to have it towed to my house. Today September 26,2022 I had to have them tow my car back to the auto shop again and they said they now I have to replace the transmission. I’ve been getting the run around from drivetime and their customer relations. No one has a resolution. I’ve told them I want to trade the car back and they won’t take it back. At this point I feel I was sold a lemon. They have replaced almost all vital parts of my car and I’m still having issues. The auto shop works with the insurance drivetime gave me for the car. No one is willing to help me at this point they can have the car back. It’s been nothing but issues and no one want to help me find a resolution.Business Response

I was put into a upside down loan I’m 65, this is my second time contacting BBB the first time Drive time called me and did nothing , they said they would look into my file and never called me again that was last year , my car was 13,000 after signing paperwork it was 21,000… my car had 1 recall on it before I bought it (My air bags) and I was not told about it. Now it’s two more recalls , one for the trunk and the engine coolant Pump. I’m struggling to pay a note on a car that is not worth it and I been trying to get help to get a new car with a lower note and Drive time will not help me. They should have never sold me a car with recalled airbags I have my grandchildren in my car.
I need to trade this car in and they will not take it. I will seek further action.

I attempted to purchase a vehicle from this business. They would not accept my form of self employment which is entirely legal. I drive Uber for a living. They based it solely on the fact that they assume I would be using the vehicle in question for the business which I would not be as I have a vehicle I am already using for this purpose. It is not the business’ right to dictate what I can or cannot do with property that I am purchasing or furthermore to determine that I am ineligible because they don’t like how I earn my living.Business Response

This business DRIVE TIME falsely advertises themselves with their tv commercials saying get approved showing your real down payment and real monthly payment this is false advertising because what they don’t tell you is it’s base on your income and the type of vehicle you want you find this after go to the dealership for example I was interested in one of Ram pickup trucks so I applied for credit on their just like they advertise on the commercial and got approved showing 295 down and like 480 a month so when got the dealership which was in WINSTON SALEM NC I agave copy’s of my income and everything added up but that truckI wanted required $11000 down payment and I that is insane who’s got that kind of money so my is that’s misleading the customer advertising one thing and you find out another a bate and switch and it should be illegal.Business Response

I bought a car from drivetime that has been cutting off since I got the car. Drivetime has given me the run around about putting me another vehicle. No shop can tell me what’s wrong with the car and my car has been in and out the shop 10 times. I just want my money back at this point. I have been dealing with the back and forth for too long. I still have not gotten reimbursed from the first 3 rentals I had to get because of this issue. All I want is my money back.Business Response

I purchased a car in 2019 Around June or July, the car was a Chevy Malibu 3013/2014, the car rode smoothly until it started to malfunction within the first 7 months. I went to countless auto repair shops to figure out the issues and when I went to Firestone and Valvoline to get diagnostic tests, they told me I needed a new catalytic converter thereafter a new transmission. I would like advice for what to do and I am looking to get this removed off of my credit if nothing else. THIS ORGANIZATION KNOWINGLY SOLD ME A LEMON A CAR WITH DYSFUNCTIONS!!!! I do not know what they did to temporarily let the car seem like it was a great durable car and IT WAS NOT!!!!!!!!!! I am also going to write reviews but I need help with this ASAP! I searched online and found a 2014 camaro priced at $18,395 last night. Called but dealership closed. Sent 2 emails setting up time to come and buy the car today. Email stated list price in the email. Have screenshots of listing on my phone and the website still pulled up. However when dealership opened at 11 today, they are saying the price has now changed to $21,500 and refusing to honor the price it was listed at when I reached out to set up the purchase. Spoke with *** who is the GM at the Tulsa location where the car is listed. He told me that he had no control over the price and it was set and changed by the corporate office overnight. Refused to honor price. Advised to call customer relations. Called and spoke with *** ******. Says she checked with leadership and refused to honor price. Said there was nothing that could be done. This dealership is baiting and switching prices. Once I expressed interest and set up an appointment, I found out the price had changed. They should have to honor the price it is listed at when I reached out to set up the appointment.

I was contacted yesterday by Christina who attempted to explain the at because I viewed the vehicle listing created by Drivetime via auto trader that they would not honor the price since it was not viewed directly in their own website. I explained that auto trader didn’t just randomly list their vehicle and change the price. She mentioned that corporate sets the listings on auto trader briefly but stopped mid sentence only to say that “she couldn’t speak to who how the listings are created on auto trader and that I would need to contact auto trader with my complaint”. I explained that someone from Drivetime would have had to create a listing on auto trader with the vehicle information and price. She co tomies to say that if my screenshots would have been of their website directly, they could possibly help me but because they are of their own listing on auto trader that they could not. I did reach out and contact auto trader via phone last night and clarified with their customer service representative that someone from the Drivetime company would have had to create a listing with the price and details in order for it to be listed on their site. I also explained to Christina that the GM of the Tulsa dealership mentioned that he was surprised by the price increase over night as well when he pulls up the list of price changes each morning and noticed this cars price had changed* ********* was trying to tell me that the vehicle was never listed less than the price that they raised it to on their own site and that auto trader had the price wrong. In reality, someone from Drivetime created the listing on auto trader and then still refused to honor the price and from what the GM told me, it was changed in their own system as well. They are trying to find a reason to cover themselves after the bait and switch of advertising a car at a lower price until someone expresses interest and then raising the price.Business Response

I was contacted and told that auto trader made up their own price for the vehicle and that I needed to discuss the advertised price with auto trader. Drive time denied being responsible for the price and information posted about their vehicle on auto trader. I confirmed with auto trader that someone from drive time would have had to create the listing and manage the information in the listing making them responsible for the price listed on that listing. The bottom line is that they advertised a car at a price. Once I reached out to set up a time to purchase the vehicle on the next business day, the price was increased over $3,000. They refused to honor the price that the vehicle was listed at when I tried to contact them about it. I planned to pay in cash so I did not do an online financing quote. I was told by the manager that the price changed over night. I was then told by the person responding to this message that the price wasn’t ever listed at $18,300 and was posted incorrectly by auto trader so they would not be able to honor it. Auto trader confirmed that the listing is created and managed by drive time. The GM discussed with me over the phone that he was surprised himself when he printed out the price changes upon arriving to work that morning that the price increased and is completely controlled by their corporate office. Each person I have spoken with has blamed the incident on someone else and has tried to avoid responsibility. After reviewing their feedback more since this incident, it appears many of their vehicles have very bad reviews from other customers and poor customer service experiences per their Facebook page comments. I will share my experience with everyone I am able to speak with and will post it on my social medi accounts so that others know to avoid dealing with this business because of their shady business practices with the bait and switch advertised prices.
