    My experience with Bookretreats was horrible. You could be lulled into thinking that an organization staffed with yogis would be ethical. But instead I find that they have grossly misleading promotion on their website. They say Weve vetted retreats in more than 200 countries. After spending hours combing through retreats available in *********, I settled in on a retreat at ************** listed on the bookretreats website. After not receiving confirmation of my booking in the promised ************************************************ to be patient and wait another 48 hours as they sent a reminder to **************. It took me very little time to verify online that accomodation/retreats at ************** were not available to book online and that the two teachers listed as leading the retreat hadnt taught there in some time. One for five years. The website site says Get in touch with our 24/7 customer support team. Basically the chat cant get you any help with an actual problem, the phone number leads you to a recorded message telling you that they will get back to you by email in 24 to 48 hours. But then they refund my money in $US after 48 hours. Every price shown for the retreat was labelled with $Cdn dollars. Later I realized that there was a small note at the bottom saying the deposit would be taken in $US. Yet there was nothing to indicate that the Cdn dollar amounts shown were estimated conversions or that there was a note I should be reading about the true currency used. And more importantly there was no notice of the $US dollar amount that would be charged. No option for me to use a $US dollar credit card. So I am out $10 because this company didnt bother to properly vet their listingFor a few years now, Ive scrolled through retreats offered by bookretreats and other yoga retreat booking sites. I suppose that is a small price to pay to realize that that would not be the best option.
