      After 10 years of paying for monitoring of my business by Bay Alarm, my business was robbed. The suspects broke a window and triggered an alarm at 3:50 a.m. I wasn't contacted until 4:00 a.m. The person responsible for monitoring my system did not ask for my code word. Somehow, my entire system was disabled, which allowed the suspects to take their time. When I complained to Bay Alarm, they advised me that they are not responsible for ANY loss sustained due to faulty equipment or human error. My glass break detector did not work. Nor did 5 other motion and door alarms installed and monitored by Bay. I was told that the very fine print in the contract I signed 10 years ago, has a clause that protects them. I would recommend reading your contract very carefully before signing up with Bay Alarm. Why would anyone sign up with an alarm company that does not protect your property, in the event that one of their employees is negligent? I have been forced to add a second layer of security that I can monitor, because I have lost faith in Bay Alarm. Also, if you currently have an alarm system by any company, make sure you insist that they come out and inspect your system. Two of my components were faulty. At one point, their representative implied that I was responsible for the robbery. I have filed a complaint with BSIS, which oversees alarm companies. I believe their contract is misleading and contradicts the Bay Alarm mission statement.

      I use the mobile app for Bay Alarm (for arming or disarming my alarm). The mobile app works about 60% of the time. I can't describe the frustration of being unable to set my alarm when leaving for work until I'm almost 30 miles away (and after I've tried ***** times). The app is not robust enough for users. The reverse occurs when I try to disarm the alarm on my way home---I've had to drive around for 20 minutes before the app finally disarms the alarm.Now, the app is handicapped even further--a pop up ad for marketing products has been inserted in the app initialization. I PAY for Bay Alarm services, so I shouldn't see any ads on their app. Since the mobile app is not robust enough to handle day to day activity, the pop up totally disrupts the app altogether. The screen freezes, turns completely blank or I get the black screen of death (failure screen). What are you thinking?! I have been in utter agony trying to deal with this app for the past month and am fed up. 1. IMPROVE THE PERFORMANCE OF THE MOBILE APP (better than 60%) ASAP. 2. REMOVE THE STUPID POP UP AD ON THE MOBILE APP ASAP.If this situation is not rectified ASAP, I will switch to ADT. I've referred a lot of people to Bay Alarm--and can't wait to spread the word about what a nightmare having your service has become. If I could give you zero stars, I would!

      Similar complaint to many others here. After being a faithful customer for many years, my ******************** system stopped working and needed a technician to repair it. I chose not to spend the money and contacted Bay Alarm telling them I wanted to stop service. Their process requires you to send a signed waiver to end the contract. I honestly don't remember whether or not I sent this because it has been so long, but I might not have. In any case, Bay Alarm kept happily billing me, regardless of the fact that my service was no longer working. I had moved at this point and didn't get the bills. They contacted me a year later to pay for the full year's service, even though no service was provided. After reading about Bay Alarm's sketchy collection agency practices, I decided to go ahead and pay to avoid the hassle.Anyway, I chose Bay Alarm because they are a local, family-operated company. I felt like I was a good and loyal customer for a long time. Ultimately, I felt I was given shoddy treatment and no consideration for the circumstances.
