I have been a loyal Moore Mechanical customer since 2017. They installed a brand new **** (the one experiencing the coil failure) in 2017. I have contracted with them faithfully since then to provide us with twice annual maintenance. Last year on July 19, 2023 the **** they installed had an AC failure, which they diagnosed as an evaporator coil leak. After incurring approx. $1,700 in costs to have them assess the problem, they informed me that the coil was leaking and quoted me a repair cost of $3,947 on August 23, 203 which I felt was excessive (the follow up visit costing another $350). I called back to discuss/dispute the high cost. They followed up with a revised quote of $2,600 informing me that they were giving me a "good customer discount". I later found out that the initial quote was done incorrectly due to inexperience of the employee preparing the initial quote, and not a good customer discount. The failed part in question is still under warranty. Feeling as though I was being taken advantage of as a senior (72) on a fixed income, I retained a lawyer to assist me.My attorney contacted ***************************, then President to no avail. The failed part is currently under warranty and now current President, ********************* (who I contacted in good faith seeking a one-on-one resolution to avoid a court date) and his manager ***** refuse to honor the warranty by either replacing the defective part or delivering a new replacement part to me so that I can have it installed by another service provider. ***** initially agreed to ship me a replacement for the defecting part on May 9th, 2024 and now won't even return my calls. I hope to also seek resolution through direct contact with the manufacturer, Carrier, by notifying them that Moore Mechanical is refusing to assist a customer with a warranty issue. I still would be amenable to working out an agreement but to date **************** has ignored both of my letters.
