      TriNet recently sent ** notification of a retroactive fee for $1000 for what they claimed were platform upgrades being worked on throughout the year. The fee was $10 per employee per month. When we asked what the implementation dates were for the upgrades so we could be sure we were only paying for the time the service was in use we were ignored. This felt pretty shady and led to a question regarding terms of service.When asked how they could change the terms of our agreement without notice they sent us Section 20(m) of their Terms of Service which states they can in fact do this. It goes on to state that we have the right to reject the change and cancel our contract. We have done this and are still being told we are responsible for the fee. It is now up to 4 times we have asked for an explanation of why TriNet believes we have to pay the fee and they have ignored us each time. Imagine emailing someone a question and they respond by ignoring the question entirely. They know they are wrong and refuse to respond in writing, likely in the hopes they can stonewall till they get to the payroll funding date next week and withdraw the money without our consent. They have stated if we don't pay the fee they will not pay our employees in full or on time in the next payroll cycle. You can put a suit and tie on it, but extortion is extortion. If there were a zero star rating we would choose it. Buyer beware. Smooth as silk sales staff and onboarding team. The rest has been a major disappointment. Any small business owner knows how much time goes into researching a PPO. Nobody wants to do this twice in two years. If you use this company it's likely you will.

      If there is a problem, and God forbid there be something wrong with your taxes, expect them to do nothing to help but attempt to cover their own butts. Their answers when asked for help (3 separate individuals) have been so far: We make no mistakes, our system is flawless, this problem is your fault and we can't help at all, you have to do it yourself or just wait and see if the problem is fixed!Is there a point to their help line if they can't actually help you at all? No Stop worrying about whose fault it is and do something besides covering your own ****.

      I've had TriNet for the past 4 years. Since 2022, their customer service and ability to manage my healthcare and FSA accounts has fallen dramatically. At least 90% of my FSA submissions are denied for a glitch on their end, and they just won't fix it. While I would have strongly recommended Trinet in 2019, I cannot say the same in 2023. Stay away if you can.

      Please mail my W2. By law you should mail it. It's bad enough you don't send a password reset or text for a password reset. Why are you not sending my password reset. Please mail my W2 form!

      Hi ****, TriNet mails out all W2s by the end of January, per IRS guidelines, to the mailing addresses we have on file unless the recipient has opted to only receive electronic copies. As a security measure, we do require you to supply identifying information on our secure portal to access personal information. Please call our employee solution center at ************** if you need help accessing your W2 online. They are available from 6 a.m. to midnight EST Monday - Friday. Thank you.

      It is not just the lack of ability of the people who work for TriNet, it is also the software. It is extremely unforgiving and frustrating to work with. I have worked with three other HR platforms and didn't realize how good they were until I had to work with TriNet. When something works well you don't appreciate it until its gone.

      If I could give zero stars I would. This company is completely incompetent. Twice now they have done things I explicitly told them not to do IN WRITING. Their process is broken. There are too many chefs in the kitchen and none of them are qualified. I've been waiting SEVEN WEEKS for them to correct my profile and my pay. They send out a request for authorization to do something but do it anyway regardless if you agree or not, so why bother asking? They blasted my profile and took SEVEN WEEKS to build it back correctly THEN when I raised the issue I owed back premiums they came up with their own inaccurate reconciliation and took the deductions AFTER 3 EMAILS AND SEVERAL PHONE CALLS saying I disagreed with their numbers. I provided a spreadsheet with check stubs and payroll reports for backup to prove my numbers. Completely ignored and ran payroll incorrect AGAIN. They couldn't even carry over a correct PTO balance. Still waiting while I gather quotes from other PEO's. Stay away from this one if you want accurate and competent payroll services.
