The Inogen unit is ok until you have to call customer service. You will then be on hold for 30 minutes to 2 hours before you get a customer service agent and you only have a 50/50 chance that they will help you.

Purchased a G4 model for my husband's use, paying a large amount of money out of pocket. The very first use the battery only last one hour. Called complaint line, they sent a new battery to us, we were told to put the old battery back into the same box, put the return label on the outside and drop the box into a UPS drop box. We did not receive a return label, had to drive 40 mile round trip to nearest UPS store and pay out of pocket to send the battery back.
Two days later....Machine is making very loud noises when running, battery will not hold charge and machine gets extremely hot. Have called customer service every day for 3 weeks now, no human will answer the phone, I have been on hold up to 2 hours at a time. Have sent the company several Emails and no one will answer them. Have called corporate office and have been told That office does not deal with such matters. Who can we turn to? This company needs to take this faulty machine back and return our $ 3200.00.

Portable oxygen concentrator is poorly designed. A G4 faile 3 times in 2 years then The mother board of the unit is broken because the charging port is mounted in such a way as that the charging connector cuses it to move and damage and get burneded losing its connection. It is a common problem with them as I have learned from investigation. This unit only has 274 hours on it This is NOT an issue with sieve columns not workug effieciantly due to lack of use, or batteries that go to sleep. the unit is faulty. they will no longer repair it. They won't provide parts. Bad company sellng inferior products that they wont stand behind..

I have a home unit and a portable unit. My home unit went to an alarm mode showing a blue light and a beeping sound.. In checking I believe it needs new columns. Here is the problem, the number your get makes you select what section you need then transfers you onl;y to be put ON HOLD with NO ONE ANSWERING. I tried three times and held over 10 minuets each time until I was pretty chapped. Pretty ****** way to do business in my book. I am lucky enough to have Medicare pay for mine and not only are you getting this complaint but I intend to complain to them Medicare being they are paying for it.

My 90 yo mother purchased a $3,500 unit two years ago. It began giving an overheating message. I called customer service. I drove to my mother’s apartment and called customer service. No response, and I hung up after 35 minutes. I called again and waited on hold another 20 minutes, before I had to head back to the office - continuing the call from my car. After another 25 minutes, someone finally answered. I gave her my mother’s information and they told me I wasn’t on her account. I told the rep my situation and that I just needed technical support. I didn’t need to discuss my mother’s medical condition at all. I asked to speak with a manager. I was told there was none. She then hung up on me! I then called sales. That line picks up immediately. Funny how that works. I asked for a head office number. I was told they don’t have a head office?? Doing research I did find they are located in Goleta CA. I left a message with the company’s executive assistant. We’ll see if I get any call back. Just awful. No we again will I say anyth8ng positive about inogen.

The company forces you to pay for something you don’t want or need in order to use their portable device. It was ordered by my pulmonary doctor so I went along with it. I refused the Stationary unit. The company said that I signed a waiver. I will get charged for the unit even though I don’t have it. They are ripping off the customer and Medicare. They should be charged for their actions.

I purchased the lifetime warranty for my Inogen g5. I’ve already replaced it once. Inogen agreed to send me another unit on April 11. Unit #2 has stopped working. Inogen sent it to Connecticut. I live in Georgia. I called them on April 12 and 13. After spending over 30 minutes on hold each time, I was told that an address correction had been sent to ups. Online tracking did not reflect that. I called again today (4/15) and hung up after 30+ minutes on hold. I called back and pressed #2 for making an additional purchase. Surprise! My call was answered in less than a minute. (Note to self — press #2 when I call back). I was told the same story by Inogen. The address has been corrected with ups and I might receive it in a couple of days. Who knows? Customer service is seriously substandard and they have no problem lying to elderly people. Consider this when making your oxygenator purchase.
