    On March 10, 2022 we paid Cal West Refrigeration $38,728.00 to order the walk-in refrigerator/freezer unit as per the contract signed on February 15, 2022. Cal West ordered the unit shortly after that with a down payment of $11,253.33 from Commercial Cooling Par Engineering Inc. The unit was built and ready for pickup somewhere around April 20, 2022. Cal West failed to pay the ba***** and monthly storage fees of $500.00 started accumulating on June 20,2022.
    Cal West over the past six months has supplied us with excuses, misinformation, fabricated stories and outright lies. They are a company in seemingly financial difficulties and after several phone calls don't seem likely to pay the balance.
    On Monday, November 14, 2022, ***** ******* our Executive Director called the installation contractor, **** ******* (no relation to Lance), to inquire why the unit was not delivered as promised. **** informed ***** that the job was cancelled by Cal West.
    After many phone calls by myself and Lance, and a trip by ***** to Cal West offices in Grand Terrace, we discovered the problem as outlined above. **** called around and found our unit and we have contacted Commercial Cooling the manufacturer of the unit. ***** talked to the owner and since we are a non-profit and this was not our fault, he will reverse the storage fees (but has to add taxes since we are not a resale company but the end user) if we pay the ba***** and pick up the unit by this Friday, November 18, 2022, he will take another $500.00 off the invoice so the ba***** is $25,213.87. We have rented a truck and have the check ready and will pick up the unite this Friday the 18th.
    ***** was able to get a copy of the blueprints and we will get them to the Beaumont building department to start the permit process (Cal West said they had done this).
    We are getting a quote from **** ******* from Supreme Refrigeration Corp for the cost of installation only. I have contacted an attorney to figure out actions against Cal West to recover our leftover payment from their breach of contract and any additional expenses.
    The window of opportunity is closing and it would be nice to at least have the unit in our possession without having to pay additional storage charges which will again be accumulating on November 20, 2022.
