Dear Ring, About 3 or 4 years ago I installed a Ring 2 Doorbell. So far it has worked fine until it stopped working 2 weeks ago. My device is hardwired so the battery stays charged (trickle-charged). 2 weeks ago, the device was offline and when I checked it the 'battery was at 0%'. So I recharged the battery through the USB cord (first time in 3 years battery recharged via USB). Once recharged, I put it back on the device and it came back online. Only to see that the battery % charge is deepleting down every day (about -1% per day). I reached out to Ring Support and was advised that I needed to buy a new battery. OK, that does NOT make sense. If I can recharge the battery through USB up to 100%, why is the Ring 2 device NOT keeping the battery charged up. I suspect that the device might be defective. These devices are NOT cheap. If I need to replace the device, that is somewhere around $150. Sure, a battery is just $35 but assuming it's NOT the battery that is defective then I will spend $35 only to find out "oh shoot, I should have bought a new device instead". The mac address is 0C:AE:7D:C8:FD:A0 and I remember getting it from Costco but it's been a while. I might look at other brands if I need to replace the device. Are you able to send me a replacement battery? A replacement device? I just don't want to spend another $200 on this. I bought this device with the intention that it would last but so far it's lifetime is a couple of years. I enjoy using the ring and it has provided lots of security. I'm just wary of having to buy a battery and it ends up not being the battery. Thank you and God bless you.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/06/27) */ Hello ****, Thank you for bringing this matter to our immediate attention. I will have a member of our Executive Resolutions team reach out to troubleshoot your inquiry further. Regards, The Ring Team Consumer Response /* (2000, 7, 2022/06/30) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) A member of the Executive Resolutions team reached out to me. I was sent a replacement 'battery' to determine if the trouble with my device is the battery. If it's NOT the battery, Ring Executive provided me with her direct contact information were the 2nd option will be to buy a replacement device at 50% discount. I do appreciate Ring responding to my concern and willing to help with a resolution.
