I am an owner of a rental property at ************************************* **********, ********. Over the last 4 months I have been promised start dates that are continually cancelled, and then told again and again a technician needs to comeback for more measurements. At this point I have asked for the *** to be terminated, as this project originally scheduled for completion in January, then February, then April 29th and 30th, and again canceled. It was not until I contact them numerous times yesterday to determine job status that I was again told the project was on hold. This project or lack of interest in terminating the *** is resulting in a delay of me being able to refinance this investment property.

Current Home Solar will not stop calling 3-5 times per day. I have blocked every number but they keep using different ones. When I tell them Im not interested they hang up. How do I get them stop calling me?

We have investigated this issue and found a duplicate record in our system that was causing the over dialing. We have rectified this and also placed this number on our internal Do Not Call list to avoid future calls

      Business Response

      Date: 04/16/2024

      Hello,

We have responded to this homeowner Last week. See below

      Good Afternoon *****,

I hope this email finds you well and thank you for your reply. Allow me to provide some clarity.

The delay in achieving permission to operate (PTO) from the utility was solely based on the fact that SCE determined their transformer was antiquated.  We installed your solar system in ******************************************************************************************* **. We passed the city inspection 4 business days after the installation. Immediately after SCE determined a transformer upgrade was required, we offered you the option to make the system smaller or wait for the transformer. It was also disclosed that we have no control over SCE timelines and that you would be paying the solar loan in the interim.  We requested many extensions to SunLight on your project's behalf given the circumstances. Ultimately, SunLight decided to cancel financing due to your refusal to make your payments. Neither of these occurrences were the fault of Current Home nor is Current Home contractually liable for such delays.

We have attempted on several occasions to speak with you to thoroughly discuss a prompt resolution. If you were surprised with the Mosaic option we sent over, it is due to your unwillingness to take our calls so that further explanation could be provided. Furthermore, emails sent to you requesting your best times/dates to honor your request for an open discussion with our CEO, *****, were only met with emailed replies lacking times/dates for the aforementioned discussion. Your home received PTO 9.11.2023 and you have enjoyed your solar savings since said date without making any payments. When the Mosaic option was provided to you, you made it clear that you were not interested in securing financing which left us no choice but to shut down the system. As I'm sure you can understand, we have invested a lot of time and money into your home's project without being paid at all, to date.

Nevertheless, we at Current Home maintain our willingness to work together to find a positive and equitable resolution.  Your cooperation is greatly appreciated to find the quickest way to move forward. When can we lock in a date/time for discussion with me and/or *****? ***

      Please advise

      Thank you

Current Home has taken at this *********** months to get to the point of going solar. I was promised by the sales representative said we could get it in by end of summer. SDGE pointed out that Current Home did not send a drawing including the battery. There were three renditions of the drawings. They did not pay a fee necessary for advancing the project. Further delay. I want out of the contract I signed and they will remove the panels.

We are currently reaching out to ****** to understand her ask. She mentioned panel removal but when we spoke with her she was requesting more money. We are also in communication with SDGE to validate the claims. The owner of our company is aware of this situation and is wanting to come towards a resolution ASAP. I will respond with more updates as I receive them

Current homeowner. A Current Home rep came to my home in Oct to provide info. I was busy at the time and he asked to set up a future date. I was unable to make that appointment and let him know. Since then I've been very busy and unable to reschedule. However, Current Home has continued to call me daily, about 6 to 10 times a day. I have told the caller multiple times that I am too busy right now and that I will reach out when I am able. However, despite me asking to be removed from the call list, they have continued to call. They call everyday since October. Even on the weekends. The number is always a 562 area code, but with slight variations which makes it difficult to block every number. I don't understand why they are doing this but its not professional. I'm sure theyre great at what they do but this is no way to treat a potential client. It's borderline harrasment. I just want them to respect my time.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH Current Home Solar!!!I filed a complaint on here a month ago, verified it and nothing happened. Nobody from Current Homes Solar or BBB have reached out to me. We were told that we would get enough solar panels to produce more energy then we use AND they would upgrade our panel. They found a work around so they could install without doing the panel upgrade since it would take time to get the permits to do so. Since they were able to ***** rig it i guess they never filed for permits to upgrade the box. They also did something with our **** account so that the **** bills went to them instead of us. After less then a year we paid off the solar and very ironically that same month we started using more power then we were producing yet didnt get a bill. That went on for 3 years and we got a letter saying we owe almost $4,000! Something extremely fishy is going on and nobody is returning my emails or phone calls. They asked for copies of my bills so I got ahold of **** and got 3 years of bills and emailed them over. I have followed up with that email 4 times over email and multiple calls. Its been 38 days and still nothing.

      Business Response

      Date: 12/07/2023

      Hello,

We are in communication with this homeowner. It looks like at the time of sale the system was appropriately sized but he is simply using much  more electricity. Our operations Director and VP of sales are working on this personally to come to an agreement and explain the situation to him.

We have scheduled a technician to go to the home and do a system check

      From Operations Director:

As far as the system's functionality, over the 4 years it has been on it has never completely gone down, and all production drops have been weather congruent. I have attached a graph of the systems production/consumption to this email, the blue shows production and the orange shows consumption. I have also attached the data comparison chart shown on the Enphase homepage. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

      From VP of Sales:

Although its a small system, it was appropriately sized for the customer's usage at the time of signing. I pulled the ** submitted at the time of sale. At the time, the customer had used about ***** kWhs for the prior 12 months. The system was sized to produce ***** kWhs in the 1st year (107% offset). The system produced ***** kWh's in the 1st year, exceeding the estimate.

As for the claims about the **** bills being changed somehow, I don't see how any of that could have happened on our end. A paper bill was submitted at the time of the sale so it doesn't appear that anyone on the sales end altered their online account.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 12/14/2023

I am rejecting this response because:

I am in communication with them but they have not told any of this to me. They just keep telling me they are working on it and now not returning phone calls. Our daily activity and energy usage hasn't changed since they did their assessment/install and when their technician came out I was standing there when he opened up the solar box. It had a big red light on and the tech said oh there's the problem. It wasn't uploading to the grid or something like that. Seems really fishy that the same month we paid off the solar we "started consuming more power". This company is just weird and not conducting business in a moral manor.  We never changed anything with **** but once we signed up with Current Home Solar we stopped receiving a bill in the mail and everything was set up on their online portal NOT using either my nor my wife's email addresses. A tech was supposed to come out again but when their Customer Advocacy Manager **** was supposed to call back to set it up she never did. I called the next day and left her a message. She still has not called me back. At this point I need them to either pay for the **** overages of $3,928.71 or they can come remove their panels and refund me the $15,000 they charged me for them. I'm over having to deal with them. It's now going on 3 month. Its so much of an issue that ******* has an employee that their sole job is to deal with Current Home Solar complaints about similar issues.

      Business Response

      Date: 01/04/2024

      Hello,
We are currently in communication with **** regarding this matter. we had an additional call with him today 1.4.23 at 4:15pm for a screen share to show him his usage and production.

I have attached a screenshot of the contract he signed stating our estimated production being at ***** kWh a year and it being at 88% of the utility offset.

His actual solar production is actually even higher than projected

      Year 1 = 4691
      Year 2 = 4852
      Year 3 = 4805
      Year 4 = 4729

He simply is using way more electricity than he originally was. We see this in some cases as homeowners feel with their solar system that they can use as much as they want. When homeowners review their utility bill or receive their annual true up and are not producing enough we can then take a look and see if it makes sense to add more panels or see if there is a way they can reduce their usage. In this case **** waited over 3 years to reach out without paying his true up bill and allowing extra charges to occur. As mentioned we are reaching out and trying to come to a resolution. I have attached the agreement and his original paper bill when signing.

My partner and I sat with ****** (Salesman at Currenthome) in February 2023 and decided, based on what he communicated, that Currenthome would be a good fit. After a failed attempt to start due to Currenthome not noticing that I have S tile, we finally got a call from ****** saying that we would need an inlay solar panel installation due to the type of tile we have and that it would be an additional cost. After taking some time to think about the new cost of about $7,000.00, we decided to move forward. Luckily, I work from home because Currenthome would make appointments with contractors without seeing if we would be home or available. Eventually, Currenthome installed the panels, leaving trash on my roof and destroying my gutter. Unfortunately, now we have exposed composition on my roof. The inlay process was never completed, and the destroyed gutter gave way when the tropical storm hit ** here in ************ (San Bernardino County). I have tried repeatedly to come to a resolution with Currenthome but have been unsuccessful in reaching anyone or getting a response after I sent an email response to Currenthome regarding "referring a friend". I am asking Currenthome to adequately cover the exposed composite and fix the one gutter in the back of the house. I have been trying to get this resolved since July 11, 2023.I have a video showing the damaged gutter and the missing row exposing the composite as well. However, the size of the video exceeds the allowed space for upload.

      Business Response

      Date: 10/09/2023

We have been in communication several times since the installation and have also sent a roofer out to provide options.
The tile inset has been done correctly and to code.  We installed composite shingles underneath the Solar array and refaced the roof with the existing roof tiles. The area referenced is the gap between the eave and the leading edge of the solar array.  There is not enough roof space remaining for coarse of tile in this gap.  We offered to install terracotta shingles for a better color match but the home owner refused.
Pre existing gutter damage was identified on our first visit to the home.  This photo was taken on 2/1/23 from the ground prior to any member of Current Home gained access to the roof. See photo showing a gap between the downpour and the right section of the gutter indicating that the section was not attached to the roof prior to our work.

I received a proposal and contract for Solar in February 2023. To this day this company refuses to answer phone calls nor return calls. I have been ignored and this is not acceptable. In the Summer of 2022, sales representative ***** ****** from the Current Homes Solar LLC came to offer us Solar Panel Services. During and after the presentation I was told they'd offer a promotional check for one years worth of solar panels payments as we ended taking a loan with UrbanSolar through a Company named ****** to finance the panels. We even filled out a w9 form. We still have not received the check. Second, We were told we would receive a tax credit of over 18-20K that was expected to go toward the Loan Company used to finance the panels so that our payments remained at its current rate of 188.16. Effective February of 2024 the rate will go up 256.66. As it turns out, it's Money we never received when we filed taxes as we were told the IRS retains that for if there are any tax liabilities which go against what we were told would happen. Now because of a fraudulent sales pitch, we are stuck with a Solar Panel Loan that will go up next year, a light bill of over 150 average and no promotional check. There have been attempts to reach ***** but she no longer works for current homes. I contacted the company and a manager by the name of ***** told us he would take a look at our situation but still nothing.
