On August 10th 2024, I went in to get the same deal my roommate signed up using the week before (19/month, no annual contract) and was met with deceptive pricing from their ***** The branch manager told me it would be $19, but only with an annual contract and they would waive my first month if I signed up same-day. I worked out and told them before leaving that I'd like to sign up. A different representative started handling my paperwork and before I signed it said $25/month, at which point I told her to stop the process. She said that the $19/month deal I was offered just an hour ago was only if I bought $120 worth of personal training. I called the manager over. The manager did not respect the pricing in our conversation from an hour before, but she hand-wrote me a note that she said I could present if I cancelled before the 1 year so that she could waive the cancellation fee. I signed up anyway. However, that same night I went on their website and the price said $14/month with annual contract and $19 with NO annual contract; no purchase of personal training required. I was livid. I cancelled my membership on the spot, but she threw in another unmentioned $25 30-day notice fee.

I've never had a problem with Fitness 19. I've had to cancel my membership while in the middle of my contract twice. First time was due to an unexpected move due to a death in the family, and the second time was due to job loss. Both times I was able to cancel via email and they were very understanding. The best gym I've been to was their Riverside gym off Magnolia. They had great hours, outdoor training area, and a lot of equipment I haven't seen at other gyms. The only con I can think of, is they sometimes lack the amenities you might find at other gyms like showers and saunas. I would highly recommend Fitness 19.

I moved out of state. I called fitness 19 and told them I needed to cancel my membership. They told me I had to show up in person to cancel the membership, and that me living out of state didnt matter. I closed my checking account for an unrelated reason, and now am in collections despite my attempts to cancel.
