Guardian Litigation Group is a disappointment. I was told they negotiate debt settlements and they have only negotiated one. The one that was negotiated created a tax liability in the amount of almost 1K. I was told that settlement had been reached but was not told about the 1099-C. I have attempted to get information about my options going forward but no one has responded to my emails or made the promised phone calls. I requested a payment deferment and was offered a non-existent loan. I'm tired and frustrated.

We are sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction, *****. Unfortunately, you may not be receiving all our calls and messages. For each inquiry youve submitted we have contacted you at least twice in response but have been unsuccessful in reaching you. When you requested a payment deferral recently via email, we replied via text message that we needed your verbal authorization in order to process it. As soon as you returned our call we processed that payment deferral. The loan you mentioned isnt nonexistent; you were transferred to one of our lending partners to apply. An approval and subsequent loan funding would greatly expedite your program. The potential tax ramifications of settling debt are disclosed in our agreement and many of our clients avoid tax liability because they are insolvent when the debts are forgiven. We recommend that you speak to a tax professional to see what your options are. You are only 7 months into a 48-month process. Based on your settlement results to date, you are on track to have your remaining debts settled within the time frame we estimated.

This all sounded too good to be true and they acted like they wanted to help you in the beginning. But in the end, the program is a scam and not worth it at all. Here's my analysis in just one year and you can decide for yourself if it's worth it for you to sign up for the program:Start date of the program: 5/16/22 - 5/16/23 (one year) my monthly payment is $775.93; they've only settled 2 accounts out of 7.in one year I would have paid a total of $9,154.30 to Guardian. Here's the juicy part. The total I would have paid the 2 settled accounts is $5,152.50 The total Guardian takes for their fee (monthly) is $4,398.43 The total fees from 3rd party for sending out your payment is $279.30 In a nut sell, Guardian will take 50% of their share from your monthly payment. On top of that they charge you for using their 3rd party (Forth/ ****************) for sending out your payments for you. So the monthly payment they quoted me $775.93 is not actually for all of my creditors (7 in total). So, keep this in mind if you're thinking about signing up with them

Dear ****************:Thank you for your review. We appreciate the opportunity to respond in this forum. We regret that our teams recent explanations to you did not address your concerns. When you hired us on May 4, 2022, we estimated that we would settle all your debts for less than what you owe in approximately 48 months. In a span of only 10 months, we have already settled $25,879.62 of your total enrolled debt of $42,847. You are only 21% into your estimated program term yet we have already settled 60% of your enrolled debt. Furthermore, these debts have been settled at a lesser percentage than what we had originally estimated. You are actually slightly ahead of schedule to be out of debt in the time we originally anticipated. The $775.93 that you mention is for all 7 of your accounts. The payment figures provided in your initial estimate include all amounts we ascertain will be needed to settle all your debts, including our contingency fee and 3rd party fees (which are not obligatory). We do not charge any fee until a debt has been settled. Regarding 3rd parties we recommend the use of a set aside savings account administrator because the account is under your control and your creditors do not have any way to access it, even in the event of a creditor lawsuit. You explicitly authorize creditor payments as well as payments to our firm for our services. In the event a creditor attempts to withdraw more than what was agreed upon for a settlement the transaction can be stopped while processing, unlike a typical account. When you review these facts, you can see that weve done exactly what we said we would do for you. There was no misleading or inaccurate information provided and our commitment to getting you out of debt has not changed. Should you have any other concerns please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you.Guardian Litigation Group

After working with Guardian Litigation, my credit is ruined. I paid them $1,650 ($275 per month over 6 months) and one of my accounts was settled for $383 and paid off. After a few months and endless calls from my creditors I realized what was happening and resumed paying my accounts directly to the creditors. I asked to stop the program and was told that I would have to pay $1,800 in order to be released. So now, after 6 months, I have late payments and "Closed" reported to all of the credit bureaus. I had to move in with family so I could afford to pay off my debt which I am doing...slowly. My credit score is now 555 and I have paid off more than $3,000 in debt on my own. I am so depressed that it is hard to think of anything else except repairing my credit. I am a special education teacher paying as much as I can toward my debts. I drive for Amazon Flex and Door Dash when I am not at work. I wish I had reached out to each creditor instead of succumbing to the mailer I received from Guardian. But I was afraid. If you are in a difficult financial situation, contact your creditors. Don't be afraid and please, please DO NOT WORK WITH GUARDIAN LITIGATION. YOUR CREDIT WILL BE RUINED!

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this review. When ****************** retained our firm in June of 2022, she was informed, verbally and in writing, that engaging in debt settlement would have a negative impact on her credit. Less than 2 months after she hired our firm, we settled 2 of her 6 enrolled debts. These 2 debts represented approximately 46% of her total debt. The settlement amounts were less than our initial estimates and we firmly believe that, had she elected to continue, all of Ms. ******** debts would have been settled within the estimated time frame we had given her.Using Ms. ******** monthly deposits, the settlements on those 2 debts were paid in full while our firm was only paid 16% of the fees it had earned (approximately $270). Guardian Litigation Group settled Ms. ******** debts, fielded many calls on her behalf, communicated with her creditors and provided valuable legal aid, all of which can be substantiated. In fact, Ms. ******** decision to retain our firm saved her approximately $2,828. This includes the nominal fees she paid our firm to date. Although attorneys typically require payment up front for their services, we performed services for ****************** in advance of receiving full payment with the understanding that she would pay her legal fees once our work was complete. When we called ****************** to inform her that she still owed fees for the work we had performed and we expected payment at some point, she became irate and disconnected the call. When we followed up to see if there was anything we could do to assist, she again disconnected the call. It is unfortunate that ****************** decided to post a negative review rather than relay her situation to us. Our goal is to help people get out of debt and we recognize that some of our clients have bigger problems than their debts. As a courtesy to ****************** and given her difficult personal situation, our firm has decided to waive the remaining fees she owes. We wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors. Thank you for your attention.
