My wife looked into this. They told her on the phone that they would have 6 credit card accounts closed and that we'd only have to pay 48 months of an amount that comes out to less than 1/48th what we currently owed on the cards, not counting interest, so I knew right away it was BS. Especially considering that they take 27% of the total debt up front. Looked through the contract and it directly contradicts pretty much everything she was told on the phone. They said they'd have the accounts closed immediately, but the contract specifically makes her agree to the statement that neither Guardian nor any third party has told her to stop paying on the cards, and that they're not liable for any financial damages to us for going into default status. Also states that they're under no obligation whatsoever to reduce our debt at all, but we're still on the hook to pay them the 27%. We're cancelling it in the morning. They told her we have 3 days to cancel, hopefully they honor that.Guardian Litigation Group

Hello *******, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We apologize for any confusion or misunderstanding that *** have occurred regarding your experience with our services. After conducting a thorough search, we were unable to locate any record of your name or email address in our system. However, based on the information you provided in your review, we want to clarify some important points for you and for anyone else who *** read your review. We understand that debt settlement *** not be the best solution for everyone, and we always advise our clients of this fact both verbally and in writing. Our services are designed to assist clients who are experiencing true financial hardship and are unable to pay their creditors. Regarding your statement that we are not under any obligation to reduce your debt, we would like to clarify that our success as a company is directly tied to the success of our clients. We only collect fees once a debt is settled, and if we are unable to achieve a reduction in debt for a client, we do not receive any payment. We hope that this information helps to clarify any misunderstandings and we remain committed to providing excellent service to our clients. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly.Review fromDeanna C

So, ****************** and ***** A are correct in their one start assessment. Everything said is actually what happened with me. In addition, this program is GREAT for 1 creditor that is owed. This program is NOT great for multiple creditors and the information should have been provided stating that another creditor is contacted AFTER one creditor is paid off. So you go from a 3 year plan to a 6+ year plan and you are still paying the 27% on the entire amount although only one creditor is being paid a time. As well, yes, the loan was none existent. What is best to say is we only approve the loan for a certain amount. Because the loan person stated "I cannot see why you were not approved,' no letter was ever received nor a return phone call. This company is best for 1 creditor, not multiple. I am disappointed, but I have a plan. And Guardian Litigation Group before you have fake "good" reviews posted, understand that this is a public platform and I am sure that lawyers are watching. And as you always tell people, "Please note that this call is being recording and we are not lawyers." Well, please note "thank you for recording my calls for the past 8 months, it is much appreciated."I am doing as I should have done before just call each creditor on my own for free and make arrangements, I will just say that I trusted Guardian Litigation as I did not expect to have the amount of housing repair debt I did in buying a home, but I trusted Guardian to ease my weary road of financial woes and it was turned in a financial disaster highway, my credit went from 736 to 508 in 8 months. I am literally starting ALL OVER AGAIN. But I have found the exit off this highway of terror and I am sitting at the rest stop to recover and continue on.I will survive this as I have other things. But again, every thing is recorded, isn't?!.Guardian Litigation Group

Hi ******, we have no record of any client with the name or email address you provided here. Please contact us via direct message or post your name and email address if you were a client of our firm. We would love the opportunity to respond and address any concerns from a verified client. We have thousands of authentic reviews from verified clients across various venues. Their authenticity is proven by the fact that we do indeed have some negative reviews, quite simply because debt settlement results always vary depending on each individuals situation.Review fromPatricia D

I would leave 0 stars if that was possible. I feel that this debt settlement agency is predatory in the way that they operate in the following ways: 1) Not providing full disclosure upfront of the fees charges for each settlement (mine was 27% of the total debt before settlement). While this rate was listed in my contact on page 3, it was not made clear to me what I was paying when I initially agreed to the program. It was only explained when I was presented with my first settlement offer last week. I was presented with an offer to settle with an old creditor for 45%, but after paying them 27% of the total debt, I would only be saving 17% off the total debt. 2) ************ instructs you to send them any and all offers from your creditors so that they can then present these offers to you for settlement. Therefore, in my opinion, they are not doing much to settle your debts when they are just accessing offers sent to you by your creditors and then charging 27% for doing this and then using your money in the establishment savings account (where your monthly payments go) to pay the settlement and themselves. 3) They instruct you to stop paying your credit cards when you enroll in the program so that they will go into default and collections, thus allowing them to settle them. When I signed up, I was told that these accounts would be closed by Guardian Litigation group on my behalf, not that I was going to be going into default. This was only explained to me after I had stopped making the monthly payments to my credit cards. They said that allowing my credit card accounts to go into default is they way to get creditors to be willing to negotiate down the debt. 4) They explain to you that their program is for people who are unable to make their minimum monthly payments and may not be the program for you only after you confront them about their predatory processes and request to cancel. I wish I'd known there were federally-approved debt counseling programs out there.Guardian Litigation Group

Dear ******************:Thank you for your review. We are truly sorry that you did not read the disclosures that were provided to you prior to your enrollment. As we explained to you verbally before you engaged us, our contingency fee is worked into your monthly deposit amount. Regarding the *********** where settlement was negotiated (for which you did not pay us anything) we would have saved you approximately 28% of the debt even when including our contingency fee (not 17% as your review states). We instruct our clients to send all correspondence from their creditors. These correspondences tell us of exactly what stage of delinquency the debt is in and when the best settlement result is likely, based on information we have about your creditors that you do not have. In some situations, we know an offer is the best its going to get and we recommend accepting it. This was the case on the settlement we negotiated for you. You were informed verbally and in writing upon your engagement of our firm that we do not make monthly payments to your creditors and that there would be a negative impact on your credit if you decided to hire us and stop paying. We never instructed you not to pay your creditors. In fact, approximately half of your accounts were already severely delinquent when you hired us. Thank you for confirming the exact verbiage we use to explain that our program is designed for people who are in true financial hardship and are having difficulty making their minimum payments. We wish you the best of luck in getting debt free.Melissa M.

Much of this is inaccurate. 1) My payment history on my credit report was 99% with 12+ opem lines of credit before I started with you. It has now dropped to 95%. So, approximately half of my accounts were severely negatively delinquent only after I started working with your company.2) I WAS instructed to stop making my monthly payments to the 6 accounts that your firm identified as "going to be closed." This was during my call with your representative to confirm my enrollment. It was on a recorded line as stated by the representative - listen to the recording before making statements about what I was told. I specifically asked if I should continue to make my monthly payments and the representative specifically said to stop making my monthly payments as of that day and to send the firm an email with my full account numbers and the dates of my last payments.3) I was quoted by your representative that my total payment with the settlement amount and your fee would come to 73%. Which would equate to a 27% savings for me. This is the only point you made that I agree with. Also, I just settled that debt on my own for 4) The fact that you take time to rudely dispute each negative review you receive shows what kind of a business you are. I only wish that I had read all of these negative reviews prior to engaging in any dealings with your firm. 5) Since ending my dealings with your firm a few days ago, I've successfully settled three of my debts and gotten almost all of my past due accounts caught up, proving thay it doesn't take 27% worth of a person's total debt to accomplish this. So, to anyone considering working with this firm, my advice is work with your creditors directly and save yourself the hassle and expense of working with this business.Review fromjose v
