Contacted installer got no resolution, are unwilling and/or unable to solve the problem. I generate 30-40% more electricity than I need. However, getting billed for usage from SCE even though I am generating more than needed. Contacted Solar edge (Case *******) on 11/18/24, informed them the issue and spoke with supervisor (****) who I provided emailing conversation with my installer. But **** never followed up and I sent a follow-up email on 01/26/24 ****************************************** but no response. First year working properly, got credit from ***. However, last few years been getting billed over $1,000 since app shows for the year 0.02MWh imported but get billed by SCE, so I want to be reimbursed for improper billing since SCE says it is not their system and they are billing what the solar panels/system is telling them to bill me. Not using more electricity than 1st year. Installer suggested I contact SCE billing and ask for a refund, so I need statements by solar edge (asked OC Solar installer to provide but ignored my email request), showing my usage for past few years (past year mostly since ***** is my annual billing anniversary) showing my usage each month (billing period is from 04/27/24 - 04/27/25). **** stated on 1/23/25, "We have advised the installer to visit on site, because there are some panels that give low production, We (SE tech) tried to remotely pair the optimizer again and there was no improvement. We sent guide on what to do and how to TS this type of issues." Installer never contacted me and/or repaired the issue. SolarEdge informed me roughly 12 or so panels are producing low voltage and since no obstructions by trees/etc but I assume installer are not going to fix it since solar edge stated inverters are fine. It's very simple question but seems installer and solar edge are unable to provide the answer and/or give the proper data to submit to SCE to get reimbursed for over billing. ThanksBusiness Response

Hello the homeowner had contact OC Solar stating there may be issues with their system as they started receiving a bill for the first time after installing solar about a year or so prior. Upon review through the remote portal where we can access systems and review production, no issues were found but we offered to send a technician onsite to double check everything. The technician went out to the property and found no issues, we followed up with the homeowner and confirmed there were no issues found and the bill is due to increased electrical usage, the usage of the home had surpassed what the solar system is capable of producing and grid power was used to supplement the needs. The homeowner is now receiving a bill from the increased usage and felt that OC Solar should compensate for the bill received from the utility company. OC Solar does not guarantee production and does not compensate for utility bills incurred, both statements are included in our contract. We have followed up with the homeowner again asking how we can assist and have made some recommendations to help combat increased usage but there are no further actions OC Solar can take to remedy situation as the system is working as intended and has been verified in person and by the manufacturer. Please let us know if you have any further questions.Initial Complaint

I requested a quote in Jan 2023. We decided to not continue with the project until later in the year. I contacted them again in the summer and requested another quote. Once the details were worked out we were finalizing our decision and the sales rep sent me an email in September saying to sign the agreement by September 30 to guarantee installation before December 31 to realize the tax credit in 2023. We signed on September 28. In the first week of December they had yet to start the project and I was concerned. I contacted them and was told that they had me scheduled to begin consteuction in January. I sent them the email they had sent me guaranteeing completion by December 31 and they advised that they would try their best. I was then contacted by the sales rep who advised installation would not be complete until February due to labor issues with their roofers. I asked to cancel and was told that they were working on getting the project scheduled asap. They later advised that the project would be started on 12/22 if weather permitted. Knowing they would not finish by 12/31 i again asked to cancel. The sales rep advised I would have to pay penalties noted in the contract if I cancelled which are 35% of the price. I asked what the guarantee meant in the email he sent me to get me to sign and he said the only guarantees they have are in the contract. Now Im at their mercy, obligated to use their services on any timeline they wish or I have to pay over $20k in penalties. I will not receive the tax credit to apply to my loan and I will be paying payments and interest on an additional $20k for an entire year.Business Response

OC Solar and I agreed to place solar panels on my roof in the spring of ********************* july of *************************************** august of 2022. In september of 2022 their solar system stopped working and was not reading produced solar on there 3rd party app. I called and asked if the system was ok and they stated yes, we show your system working fine. Then i received a bill from southern california ****** stating I had incurred a bill for electricity that was on par with not having solar. (around or about November 2022) They (oc solar) then finally sent a tech (non certified electrician) to check my system which was not functional. They fixed something on the panel and would not or could not tell me what they fixed since I was unable to be there when the tech worked on the system. The solar system then promptly went down again in january of 2023. They sent another tech out (non certified electrician) to look at the system. The tech found their circuit on my main panel was burnt on the back side or the side closest to the bus bar on the main panel which could have started a house fire. The tech then replaced their wires and circuit and replaced the circuit to the main panel. Then tested the system to see if it worked, which it did for the 10 minutes it was hooked up. He then disconnected the circuit and removed it from the wires. We were installing a permitted home generator and their was a access open on the wall to the generator electrical panel. He stated that maybe rain got in and fried his circuit but no other circuits on the panel. I had a certified electrician look at the bus bar which is burnt and the circuit which is burnt. He stated in his opinion that it looked like whoever installed the circuit did not completely set it on the bus bar causing arching from bar to bar and burning the circuit.July of 2023 I was able to replace the bus bar and they say I tampered with their equipment. Still no solar and wants to charge to have tech come out.Business Response

OC Solar has conducted a no-cost service call, where our electrician quickly identified that the breaker & bus bar was indeed burned and showed signs of arcing due to water intrusion into the panel. At the time of site visit, it had been confirmed & verified by homeowner that a separate contractor had been installing a generator and left a 2 hole in the right hand upper side of the panel, which would permit water intrusion. OC Solar deemed this to be the cause of the issue with the system; and when OC Solars warrantied product, was tampered & altered by the 3rd party generator workers, OC Solar advised that future alterations to our system would void clients warranty with OC Solar; as it is no longer our work by certified Enphase professionals.
OC Solar has not voided clients warranty. OC solar has already gotten clients system operational, and verified, that the solar system is fully working as evidenced by the attached report; showing generation of electricity from solar system.
OC Solar completed the project, permitted & inspected by the *** & City officials in accordance with *** & *** Guidelines in July/August of 2022.
OC Solar believes the core issue related to the water intrusion from the open hole, left by the contractor completing the generator work is the cause of the arcing, and failure of the solar system.
Despite our findings, we have serviced the system at no-cost, and it is fully operational.
OC Solar has not received any proof, that the installation was not completed properly. And contests that the City inspector would also have been liable and inspected the entirety of the work performed. Despite OC Solars stance, that we are not at fault, OC Solar is open to reimbursing an industry standard and reasonable cost for the unconfirmed work that has taken placed; in the interest of settling the manner in a professional way. We believe the cost for this should be between $399-699.00 in total.Initial Complaint

We were trying to get solar but didn't qualify for financing. They took a deposit and we were thinking we would see if we could pull from a pension plan if it didn't cost too much but it was going to cost too much. So I notified them and requested my deposit back. They are not replying. I want my $250 deposit back. I did get one replying and told I need to talk to the project manager and file a form. I requested the name of the project manager and the form and received nothing. Now I find out my sales person left there 3 weeks ago so I have no real contact. I want my refund.Business Response

Hi ******,
There seems to be a misunderstanding. We issued a refund in the amount of $250 via Check # **** on 11/10/22. The check has not been cashed so I will stop payment on that check and reissue a new check today. We have not heard from the customer since then.
I just left a voicemail with the ** to confirm the details above. Please let me know if you need anything else to close this out.
Thanks,
