My 2021 federal tax return was sent to SBTPG in order to collect fees for turbo tax which I used to file my 2021 taxes! They have had my refund since February and have collected the turbo tax fees and still have yet to mail the remainder of my federal refund via paper check to me. I have called and cannot get a live person not once ever! I have also emailed and got one automated response with no follow up! I understand the the overflow of calls and e-mails during tax season but this is completely ridiculous that it is august and I have yet to receive a call, email or most importantly my federal return this institution is withholding.Initial Complaint

Like many Americans, I used Turbo Tax to file my taxes and my refund was sent to SBTPG. They received the refund on 3/11/22 and allegedly sent it to my bank account and it was returned. Ive been in touch with them to the best of my ability as they dont have humans who answer the phone and it takes several weeks to get a reply via email. *** submitted and resubmitted notarized documents proving my identification and so forth to no avail. I cannot fathom why it would take 5 months to issue a check to me when Ive done everything I have been told or asked to do to remedy this issue. Id like them to send my money to me and stop pretending that it was already done.Initial Complaint

On 4/20/2021 I filed my 2020 federal and state income taxes. I used etax for my tax software. The irs excepted my return and released my funds to STPG on November 24th 2021. STPG then took out their fees and sent the remaining portion of my refund by direct deposit to my bank on 11/30 /2021. Unfortunately my bank rejected the direct deposit due to an address change. After I was giving the proper contact information of the third party company. I contacted STPG in January , they informed me a check had been mailed to the address on the return on December 3rd 2022. The check was damaged from the rain after a month in mailbox and I couldn't open it. I called back and ask for them to reissue the check to me becuase it was destroyed. Stpg then informed me of a bond ideminnty form that I had to fill out get notarized and fax back to them. I did that and sent the form back on 1/31/2022. After sending the form I had to send multiple request for an update and it took them weeks to inform me that the form was not legible to have it restamped by notary. I did that as well sent it back once again. By the time I was able to get through to STPG I had not needed the form any longer because 90 days had already passed.. Needless to say I was have not received a check. supposedly a second check was printed on 4/15/2022. Agents would not provide me a check k # and it never come in the mail. I have informed delivery ***** It was never scanned. So now we are past 90 days of the second check issue. I can't get a responsible reason why 180 days and still no refund. I've 35 calls to just get hung up on after waiting 2.5 hours or given incorrect information. Shortest wait time 1.5 hours. After submitting multiple request on the website and not getting a response. I called stpg made request to return to irs on May 18th 2022. Was told funds was sent on 06/01/2022. I called irs it wasn't ever sent. The irs had to submit a check trace. I received I email from my bank stating that my refund was returned because tpg products forgot to put a e on my name when they sent the deposit this is a error on they behalf and should be corrected asap. I try reaching out to them and get no response. I need my tax return and if I don't receive it soon I will be taking legal action.Initial Complaint

Santa Barbara Tax Products Group has been holding on to my tax return since Feb. 28,2022. The direct deposit did not go through. I was told a check was being sent out. The check never showed up. They said they would issue another check on June 10th 2022 and that it would be **** business days. It has been two months. I have called several times and waited on hold for 2 - 3 hours each time to be told there is nothing they can do. They told me they could not give me any information on where the check is at. After reading other complaints i have seen them give out tracking numbers for other customers. Why do they not want to give me my money?Initial Complaint

I have called numerous times on trying to track down my refund but I still havent received it the irs deposited my refund into a third party account for turbo tax to take fees out of and I still not yet to receive my money but they already took there fees out of it they changed my direct deposit to a cashier check for what reason I dont know my bank account information right and neither is it closed everytime I call SBTPG I be on hold for hours just for them too answer and hang up this is not how you conduct business and its against the law to hold on to someone federal refund what can I do to get my money from SBTPG BANKInitial Complaint

I filed my taxes using Turbo Tax. My refund was rejected by the bank that my refund was to be deposited into due to the fact I had to verify my identity. The refund was sent to the account on 7/29 and my account was cleared later that afternoon. I called TPG several times and after being on hold for over an hour I was hung up on multiple times. The one time I did get through I was told it would take 10 weeks for them to return my refund to the **** Why does it take 10 weeks to return money that is not yours? This process should not take 2 1/2 months for funds to be returned to the **** I would like something done about raising right away. When I filed my 2021 tax return, I chose to use the ************************* provided by TurbiTax banking partner. When I contacted TurboTax, their response was our Satisfaction Guaranteed policy only covers TurboTax CD/Download products. TurboTax Online is designed not to charge the customer until after they choose to file, so it is not covered under the Satisfaction Guarantee. And to reach out to 3rd party Santa Barbara Tax Products Group (TPG) for refund. Because I didn't fully understand what ************************* was, not only was I charged their fee, but TurboTax Intuit then considers this a Deluxe Package so they auto upgrade. All in all I was charged under Intuit TurboTax invoice:Order number: EFECB251449658 Total charges: $64.96 On https://help.sbtpg.com/hc/en-us/requests I submitted ****** on June 1st, 2022. There has been no action on their part to answer and/or resolve. Since then, Intuit TurboTax debited my checking account $64.96 on June 24, 2022. Around July 1st, I call SBTPG customer service. This was the interaction: I called your Customer Support a couple of weeks ago, the male representative that answered said he could not find this request #****** anywhere under my profile. His solution was not to help me. He said that Intuit should be issuing the refund. I told him more than once that it is NOT Intuit who resolves, and all he kept responding with was basically I'm not going to help you because he cannot see ****** anywhere under my account.I hope BBB can help me. Can this jointly file a complaint against Intuit TurboTax as well since they won't support 3rd party transactions and misleadingly upgrade to DeluxePackage?Initial Complaint

I have been trying to get ahold of someone for over 4 months regarding my tax return for 2020!! First, its extremely hard to get a live representative. The system hangs up constantly. When I finally reached someone after waiting 1 hour and 47 minutes the person said Im sorry the system is not working and hung up. I finally reached someone else in a different day, who said would email me a form to fill out within minutes. I have NOT received anything at all. My 2020 tax refund was held for over a year by the Irs I have been filing my returns with Express Tax Refund for years including this years return I filed with them because I file my 2020 refund with Express Tax Refund the Irs finally released my return abd the did not give me any notice I found out because I filed a complaint with my local *************** to get help with getting my refund from the irs. On April 28th 2022 I found out that my refund was issued to Santa Barbara Bank after receiving an email from my local Congress woman I never received my money I have called Santa Barbara bank and have been told that they sent the check back to the Irs and the Irs is saying they have not received anything from Santa Barbara and it have been months of me waiting for Santa Barbara to hand over my refund and almost 2 years of me waiting for my refund from the irs. I pray I do not have to hire an attorney and then pay to come to ********** to file a lawsuit against this bank honestly this should not be considered a civil matter because this bank was only authorized to take their fees and hand over the rest of my refund. I have children and bills and it makes no sense no one can help me. Calling in I have to be on hold for hours and then it hangs up. Please give me my refund or send it back to the Irs so they can reissue it to me.
