This verbal transaction was a plumbing repair that took place on March 25, 2025. The plumbing repair was more involved after E-Drain employees violated *************** codes. We hired E-Drains for a sewer backup. During the 2 day shutoff for water in our ****************, we encountered additional issues. One issue was with the ******************************* after one of E-Drain employees pumped sewer onto the school grounds at ***************************. That's right, raw sewage! We needed to hire ****************** to clean up the carports of many of our residents. We next needed to hire ****** Backhoe Services to dig down several inches to remove any sewer that contaminated the the school grounds. We were also contacted by the City of ******** to comply fully with any additional requests that they made. Our out of pocket expenses to "fix" what E-Drains caused were much more than the initial invoice. We have been trying to mediate this, but E-Drains placed a Mechanics Lien onto my property. The point of contact, *** *********, said that his staff was working on removing the Lien. Today, June 2, 2025, my credit card was charged the FULL amount without my authorization. We are pursuing this to the highest degree. Sadly to say, we have reported them to the **** and also to the ************************.

The owner of the company filing this complaint is Mr. ****** ******** who for many years now has been verbally abusing our employees and may be suffering from dementia. We have no idea of what he is talking about now, except that we did a big repair for him, and he refused to pay for months. Until yesterday when he told our owner *** ********* to go ahead and run the card and he himself gave us the number for the card. If we would have created any type of mess in his property, we have a contract with a local restoration company and not only would we now have paid a dime, Mr. ******** wouldnt have paid anything either. I welcome his legal challenges as we have already filed a slander suit against him and will be serving it to his office soon.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 06/03/2025

Talk about SLANDER!  ****** is in no way suffering for any kind of illness.  There is NO way ****** ******** authorized this transaction.  ******** credit card isn't on file.  The Office Manager, ****** *********, is vengeful and refuses to mediate this job.  ****** refuses to release the Mechanic's Lien placed upon our property.  This is why she has many upcoming cases where E-Drains is suing multiple people. Wednesday, June 4th, Department 1401 @ 1:30 (E-Drains vs. Eido Einav.  Wednesday, June 4th Department 1401 @ 1:30 (E-Drains vs. ****** ******* (Owner of Parq Nightclub).  Also, Wednesday, June 4th @ 1:30 ***** 1401 (E-Drains vs. USA Auto Body).  Lastly, Tuesday, July 8th Department 1401 @ 8:30 a.m. (E-Drains vs ** ****).  This is all public record.  It looks like E-Drains is abusing the court system.

      Business Response

      Date: 06/03/2025

We have every right to use the court system just like you do. Now we know this is not ****** writing this complaint, he is most likely being abused and manipulated as he is in fact a senior citizen that we always had a lot of respect for even though he would curse at us and often make us work for free. Not anymore. ****** was scheduled to be at our office yesterday at 12pm, why didnt he show? He called us instead which was odd but we had no reason to think anything negative about that especially after he said he wanted to pay, so whats going on? Another instance of us trying to settle this before was when ****** asked us to show up at the city of ****** last week and we showed up and waited for over an hour. We had every intention of removing the lien. He finally showed up and ended up telling *** that he didnt want to settle anymore. Go play your games elsewhere we actually have to work for a living and do not appreciate what youre doing. At this point, lets let the courts handle this. By the way all the cases you mentioned, have now been settled favorably I should add. We advise you to consult with your legal counsel.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 06/04/2025

Again, the lies that you are spewing about ****** is very alarming.  ****** is of sound mind and you know that.  In the California Court system he is able to sue someone for defamation of character if they falsely accuse you of having dementia, particularly if that accusation ***** their reputation or causes other damages.  Talk about defamation of character.  You can't use the senior citizen card on this.  ****** has been in property management for over 45 years and has built his reputation in the Mobile Home Community.  He continues to work everyday with the 18 properties that we manage. He WILL NOT let a plumbing company with many ***'s to destroy him. Think again!   ****** asked *** to meet him at the *************** because the employee there said that the Lien could be satisfied there, but that employee was incorrect.  The Lien must be removed by the Merchant, notarized and then filed with the County.  It sounds like you have no intention of doing that and ****** knows that.  *** BEGGED for the check that ****** was going to give him because *** said he needed to make payroll.  *** said that he was going to go back to your Office so you could get started on removing the Lien.  You never planned on removing the Lien. The Small Claims cases have not been settled, because they are today at 1:30, June 4, 2025.  Here we are today, June 4th and still we haven't had any communication with you to mediate this issue.  I'm sure you already know, but the unauthorized credit card charge will be reversed, because of our dispute. You said in a previous response that ****** gave you his credit card to pay the invoice, but you know that wasn't true.  Just to let you know that I'm filing a police report today for the unauthorized charge to our card.  You can not go on treating your customers this way.

      Hello *****,

We hope you are doing well. I am very sorry but you seem to be misinformed and have provided no proof that we are telling our customers that we are affiliated with you. You are ****** Baird Plumbing and we are Baird Drain Service. That is our legal DBA. We are licensed plumbers here and do not want to be affiliated with an unlicensed business whatsoever. Please be rest assured that if and when a customer asks if we are affiliated with ****** we quickly correct that and tell them that we are in fact not. Thank you.

I am writing to report a concerning experience I had with E-drains' customer service, which I believe warrants investigation and resolution.

Despite multiple attempts to explain that I had not received an itemized invoice and that there were errors on the invoice provided, the representative, Monika, responded in an aggressive and threatening manner. She made statements suggesting litigation and implied that we would be "begging" her to rectify the situation, even though the invoice had been paid. Following this interaction, I posted a negative review on Yelp to share my experience. In response, Monika from E-drains continued to display disrespectful and unprofessional behavior, making derogatory statements. When I replied to her comments on the Yelp platform, she modified her response and escalated the situation further by threatening to contact my workplace, which is a school.

It's important to note that I represent the HOA and never disclosed any information about my place of employment during these interactions. Monika's threat to call my employer is deeply concerning, as it suggests an attempt to tarnish my professional reputation over a customer service issue.

Attached to this email, you will find screenshots documenting the interactions between myself and Monica from E-drains, including her threats and disrespectful comments.

I am reaching out to BBB in the hope that you can assist in addressing this matter and ensuring that appropriate actions are taken by E-drains to rectify their customer service practices. No customer should have to endure such treatment, and it is imperative that steps are taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response and assistance in resolving this complaint.

There is currently a balance due for this account of $6950. There is also a pending litigation matter so there is very little we can discuss here. There is a lien packet that he will receive in the mail soon. Plus court paperwork for a defamation lawsuit against him. Thank you.

      Customer Answer

I have received threats that someone will contact my employer. Additionally, I have received a new invoice with an additional balance that I was not informed of prior to the service. The full payment was made for the original agreed-upon cost of $7,300, and I have proof of payment. The new invoice was issued as a result of retaliation for my complaint to the BBB. I also will seeking legal action.  The new invoice was sent last night, after receiving several text with vulgar statements and threats to contact my co-workers.

Customer is now just making up stories, nobody here has texted or contacted him at all. Please note that the original invoice he sent showed a balance due.

the mechanics lien will be placed today unless payment is received. He is more than welcome to call us to resolve this as well.

      thank you

On 10/23./2023 I called Baird drain ** thinking it was the one I always used. They came out and cleared my drain for $655 (usually $40) and told me I needed another $1800 in work done. I thought this was my trusted company and said ok. They were leaving for another appointment and would return to do the work. The notification from my Credit card said E-Drain so I did a little research and realized this company was a fraud. I called within 20 minutes of them leaving and canceled the bigger job and said I need my $180 back. They said ok and the office called and asked for my email and requested I state in writing what I was asking for. I did and have asked for a status several times and got nothing. Total credit card charge was $835 and work performed with $655 a 10% deposit on work not done is $180.

We had a technician, *****, sent to our home to snake our drain in our washer machine. Two days later, an unidentified man walked into my yard without introducing himself, stated he was with Baird Plumbing and looking for his employee, *****. I let him know ***** was here two days prior and he left without providing his name. While ***** was here, he unplugged a freezer without my knowledge and did not plug it back in. Four days later, I saw the outdoor freezer with over $500 of groceries in it was off and food was ruined. When I realized this, I called to see who I could speak to about the issue and possibly getting some kind of refund or partial refund for the inconvenience of over $500 worth of food going bad. When I called initially, ***** was very helpful and understanding and said someone would call me after the holiday weekend. I was pleasantly surprised when I got a phone call from someone just a few minutes later. ***** was initially polite, however grew increasingly rude and hostile. Told me I was probably wrong, her technician never unplugged it, she can't guarantee the man in my yard was from Baird (despite him stating he was), then said it was a possibly a different Baird. Essentially, she did everything she could to discredit everything I said and had zero customer **********************. She got exceedingly hostile and rude and as someone who worked in customer ********************** for over fifteen years, I told her I was frustrated by her tone. She replied that I had made a sarcastic comment and I reminded her I'm the customer, not my job to provide her with customer **********************. I asked to speak to someone else and she said "you can speak to me or you can speak to no one". This company is poorly managed, clearly unorganized, and has no respect for their customers. Mostly, this company made me feel unsafe when an employee walked into my property without identifying themself.

      Response:

Hello *********************** this is ***** with Baird Drain Service. I would like to remind everyone that just because someone has time to lie about someone else, it does not mean that what they are saying is true. We are in fact and by law Baird Drain Service with a business license in the ***************, with a legally recorded DBA from the county recorders office and most importantly with a **** license with that same name attached to it. We are licensed plumbers. ***** I invite you to *** us in court, call the **** or do what you have to do if what you are saying is true. The fact is that some people like to take advantage of service techs. We only charged you $125 to clear your drain, you did not pay more than that and we provided you with same day service. I have zero idea of what you are talking about with some random guy showing up at your home days later, super weird and either this only happened in your mind or it was some random guy that has nothing to do with us. Also, my technician had no reason to use your electric outlet and would have never moved your freezer. But lets say that for some dumb reason he moved it, wouldn't it be your responsibility to make sure it got plugged in again? You wanted us to pay you $500 for this? Sorry, not going to happen. We work hard cleaning p*** all day long to get taken by someone who is a liar and is miserable. Go try that with someone else. By the way, we have PLENTY of happy customers and anyone here is free to ask what they wish as we are not only very transparent, we stand by the work we do. We WORK for our money, we don't steal it. Of course, we cannot make everyone happy but we sure try! One last thing, you better hope I change my mind because I am almost 100 percent convinced that I will be taking you to court for defamation. If I do, you will hear from us by next month. Surely I will post whatever the outcome is here. --
