    The organization *** requests an annual payment for music licensing without providing information as to how the amount owed is calculated. Their customer service send standard responses without issuing any relevant explanation while exerting pressure through their legal teams to collect payment.

    Global Music Rights (GMR) has promptly investigated the matter raised in the customers complaint. The customer contacted us for the first time regarding this issue on June 2, 2025. Their inquiry was immediately routed to our **************** team, and they were notified of this the same day.

    On June 4, our team responded with information about the payment modalities and requested clarification regarding their question about rate calculation, as the original inquiry did not include these details. On June 5, we followed up with an explanation of the invoiced amount, which is the same as the amount invoiced the previous year.

    GMRs license fee rates for *********************** Venues are based on specific features of the customers location, including Admission Charges, use of Recorded Music, and/or provision of Musical Entertainment, as well as the total occupancy of the premises. These details are outlined in Schedule A of the fully executed license agreement. The information used to calculate the actual fees was provided by the customer in an earlier report.

    Our **************** representative remains available to assist the customer further via email. *** is committed to providing clear, accurate information and supporting our licensees in understanding their agreements.

    Despite repeated attempts to communicate with Globam Music Rights, it seems that communication with this entity is rather difficult, if not impossible.I wrote to and left messages at this entity, to no avail.Even during business hours, there seems to be no one who answers the phone, and so the only options include that of sending an email and/or leaving a recorded message.Recently I sent emails and left messages that I was interested in obtaining a license.To date, I have received no return phone calls and/or no emailed responses, save for the automated emails that indicated that the entity was in receipt of the messages I had sent at that entity's portal.In the absence of obtaining a license, any online entity or radio service runs the risk of being sued for hundreds of thousands of dollars.However, despite good faith efforts to request a license, this entity has failed to respond to my phone calls and/or my emailed messages.This entity expects and demands that internet radio services pay royalties and the like.Yet, it seems, its lack of communication makes it nearly impossible to obtain a license.Therefore, I will not broadcast any of the music registered or supposedly registered with this entity.

    Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attention. We have investigated the complaint immediately and are responding as follows:

    Our records indicate that this customer reached out to us via email on 4/20/2023.  We have been in communication with this customer several times this week, and the customer has confirmed via email as recently as yesterday morning (4/27/2023) that they were working with our digital licensing department to obtain a Global Music Rights license, so we are considering this issue resolved. This complaint was filed on 4/20/2023 and we have received the case notification from the BBB in the evening hours of 4/27/2023, so the review of this complaint appears to have overlapped with its resolution.  We remain available for any additional questions.

    I have emailed there customer service over 8 times over two months and they still have not gotten back to me. I have several ticket numbers as well. But they keep sending me a past due invoice wanting paid but will not respond to my emails.

    We have received multiple inquiries from this individual who is acting on behalf of the company that entered into a license with our company ("Licensee"). We have responded to all such inquiries in a timely manner. The inquiries from the Licensee pertained solely to questions surrounding the completion of a worksheet that we sent them to help them provide the annual reporting that they are required to submit to us under the terms of the fully-executed license agreement between the Licensee and our company (the "Agreement"). We consider Licensee's request resolved but remain available in case of any additional questions.

    Additionally, contrary to the details of this complaint, we have not sent any notices of any past due payments. We have only sent requests and courtesy reminders for the Licensee to submit the annual report that was due on October 1, 2022, pursuant to the terms of the Agreement (and which we have now received).
