6/30/2022 $400 The $400 is a holding deposit for the apartment that wasn't available to move in until 8/17/2022. After being denied of minimum income requirements, I asked for the holding deposit back since they lost no income of a vacant apartment. They said no and you only get a refund if you don't pass the credit check. When submitting the application, they require you to put the $400 down with no guarantee of the apartment. I discussed my income with the leasing agent, and she said that should be fine. After being told I didn't meet the requirements, they asked if I had $15,000 in savings. I told them I don't, and they suggested I borrow the money from a family member just to send them proof there is money in the account. I further pushed the importance of getting the $400 holding deposit back based off CA law that they aren't not legally allowed to hold it unless they lost any profit. They stuck with their statement that they will not be refunding the holding deposit. It was also never mentioned prior to submitting the application the $400 is non refundable. The terms of the refund pokiciy isn't shown until after submitting the application and downloading the submission form.

This started on 7-20-22. I arrived at the Apartment complex and finished paying my deposit etc.. Then I was told at that time I could not move in until 4 pm. I was not informed of this previously; Also I just got off the airplane and drove 3 hours to this place thinking everything was ready and I could move in right away because this is what I was told when I signed up the be a tenant a month ago. Ok so I wait for the time they say I can move in which was 4 pm then that changed to 7 pm because maintenance was working in the apartment, is what I was told. The apartment I rented was on the 3rd floor. I dragged one of my heavy suitcase up to the 3rd floor apartment. The door was not locked, so I was able to just walk in. I look around and there are spider webs everywhere, dead bugs in the corners, all types of markings on the wall. There was no fresh paint or anything. It looked as if nobody lived there for months. I took a video and sent it to there office email and a very upset email to them as well. I was very upset and disappointed at the inconvenience and time wasted. So I got a hotel for the night because of course it was 7 pm and the office was closed. I would like to be refunded for the hotel I had to stay in and the inconvenience and time wasted. 7-21-22, went to the office. I advised the manager what I had experienced and they Offered me another apartment. So management contacted their cooperate office. Later cooperate got back to the manager and told them the room they wanted to give me was already rented. They did not have anything else available but the nasty unfinished room I was supposed to be renting. Not only that they told me washer and drawer was included when I signed the lease. Of course I found out from the manager that I would need to rent a washer and dryer if I need one. I am pregnant; this cause a lot of stress for me. At that point I requested my full and complete refund back. They must mail it. I am homeless now. Need help
