Years ago, I was receiving Sunbasket (meal service) as a gift from my parents while I was undergoing treatment for breast cancer. For months I battled with sickness, surgeries, medicines, radiation, etc. My parents were kind enough to provide the Sunbasket service to my family so we did not have to worry about the cooking aspect of our lives.Recently I was talking with friends about how much my family enjoyed the service and looked it up online to share with them not aware that I would suddenly be reenrolled in the process. I canceled my subscription the same day I accessed the site (2/6/25). My parents were charged $206 on 2/12/25. When my mother attempted to call Sunbasket to inform them we did not intend to order, they were told to take it up with *********** WHAT?! Ridiculous. An order of perishable food items including meat was supposed to arrive Mon Jan 27. It did not arrive. I contacted Sunbasket via chat as directed by their app. The agents could not provide any update on when the food would be delivered or if it would be delivered at all. They could not contact the courier. They could not confirm if the food was properly stored in cold storage during the delivery delay, including overnight. They would not escalate to a manager, and they would not provide a cancellation or refund.Initial Complaint

I ordered an item from Sunbasket and was charged $17.99. I received an email that said the item wasn't available and as compensation, I would receive a $10 credit and a replacement item. I received the $10 credit but not the replacement item. I reached out to them and they said they would be crediting my account $17.99. They did not. When I reached back out about the missing credit, they said that they would not be compensating me further. So I was charged $17.99 for an item that was not received, nor was the substitute received and I only was refunded $10. If an item is paid for and not received, the refunds should be IN FULL.Initial Complaint

I received an email from the business. I clicked on it and started to browse through their selection, as I have not ordered from the company in over 4 years. The prices were deceiving on the website and I put them in my cart to see the total and was astonished and closed the window. I checked my bank account on thanksgiving and noticed that there was a pending charge of $55.36 to ************************. I called SunBasket this morning to dispute the transaction and they stated it was too late. Prepping has started and was ready to ship. I explained that I just browsed and the representative stated that they automatically charge your card once you put things in the cart. BUT I never authorized the transaction, I did not receive an email confirmation of my purchase; moreover, I do not even live at the address on their system. No help from the company.Initial Complaint

I have had a subscription to Sunbasket for many months. I cancelled my subscription to Sunbasket online at the beginning of June 2024. When they sent me another delivery on June 19, I assumed they made an error and called and had them reverse the charge, which they did. I have received and been billed for FOUR deliveries since I cancelled. Two follow-up calls to the company where I have spoken to associates did not stop these deliveries. Another unauthorized delivery was made yesterday. I would like to be refunded for these 4 deliveries ($268.20)Initial Complaint

On February 8th I subscribed to Sunbasket's meal delivery service. I ordered four meals, and then i realized that they did not all meet my dietary requirements, so I attempted to cancel the $84.94 order. I believed that i had cancelled the order, but apparently I only cancelled the subscription but not the order. I received an email on Feb. 12th saying that my order was on the way. I called Sunbasket to cancel the order but they said it was too late. I pressed, and they said they would look into it and email me. I did not receive an email that day, so I went into PayPal to begin a dispute. In PayPal, there was a message from the seller (Sunbasket) saying that they provide 7-day 100% money back guarantees, and that it was faster to contact them directly rather than file a dispute. Also, PayPal recommended that I resolve the issue directly with the seller. So I called the number provided by Sunbasket, ************, which was different from the number on their website. I thought maybe that was a more direct way to reach what i needed. When i called the number, an automated voice said to dial 1 for a $100 gift card or hang up. So i dialed 1, thinking, well, I'll get myself routed to the correct person. I said I needed a refund, and they said that the department that handled that was down due to technical issues, and for my inconvenience they would issue me a $100 gift card. I figured that would cover my $84.94 refund, so I accepted. But i had to pay shipping of the gift card (!) for $2.89, so they proceeded to get my credit card information. They also had me listen to several promotional ads. It was all very strange, but since I had called them, I thought it was the genuine business. I was suspicious, though, so I checked my bank account later that evening for fraud. Then i forgot about it until the next day, when my bank alerted me to a potential fraud transaction of $3.99 by MVQ SavingsZoo.com. Then i started reading about similar frauds with MVQ. The strangest part is that the contact information was in PayPal, which i trusted.The real Sunbasket did give me a partial refund.Initial Complaint

This company is violating the ****SPAM act by making it really hard to access the email options and there is no explicit unsubscribe. There is no way on their site to fully unsubscribe and you have to log in to access the contact options. By requiring a log in it is not accessible as the law intends.Initial Complaint

Only on my second order and they've already began scamming me out of my hard earned money! As far as healthy meal sub boxes go, this one really ended up being expensive for the amount of food you get, but I'm fine with that. I do however want the "try us out" coupon I used to be honored and a refund for the gross turkey they randomly charged me for. I am pescatarian. I don't eat meat. My entire profile is marked for pescatarian meals. That's how I signed up. I also signed up with either a $35 or $40 off first 3 boxes coupon and only received a discount on the first box. They randomly decided to add a whole turkey to my bag, which CLEARLY being pescatarian I wouldn't order! Gag! Now I've gotta go out of my way to touch this giant hunk of dirty bird meat without vomiting to try and get it out of my house without any food waste, because that's one of the main reasons I signed up! Great mission guys. Then all customer service wants to do is argue with me and send me screen shots saying I ************* and I send screenshots back showing that no turkey or any add ons show up on my app! If I "customized them" where are they?! Ridiculous. Furthermore they advertise wild caught fish and most of it is still farmed, and upon further research they also have ongoing lawsuits for lying about all of their items being organic. EW. I wish I would have done better research. *********** customer service, honor your discounts, and stop trying to force feed people meat! I am cancelling and going to a different service right now. Either refund me or my bank will get back the full amount, because unlike Sunbasket, they have quality customer service and aren't scam artists.Initial Complaint

I used Sunbasket for several months and was a relatively happy customer. But then I lost my part-time job and was no longer able to afford the meals. I paused my subscription in hopes that I would find another job. And then I proceeded to forget about it. Fast forward to Dec. 27 when I came home to a SunBasket meal box. I had been on a day trip to ** (2 hours away) so I had been gone all day long, and had no way of knowing when the food was delivered. So I had to eat the cost of that box and was unable to consume those meals. I cancelled my subscription, and received an email confirming my cancellation on Dec 28. On Jan 3 another box was delivered, however I was home, and was able to refuse the box and have it returned to the sender. I immediately contacted SunBasket and was told that my order was not cancelled when my subscription was, and that I had to pay for it. I informed the service agent that I didnt keep the delivery, and that I would like to be refunded. She took my email address and said she would reach out with resolution. I received a $20 refund (show in photo provided of PayPal payment history) on the $60 order, but being that I didnt keep the delivery, AND I already had to eat the previous weeks order, I would like to be refunded the full amount of $60.54. I cant imagine any situation when a customer can cancel their account, receive confirmation of the cancellation, and then STILL receive an order. On top of that, being expected to pay for food that was refused and sent back is ridiculous. I have provided screenshots of the delivery carrier showing the order was sent back and not delivered, yet they still refuse to refund me. I expect to receive a refund of $40 for the undelivered order, and would love a refund of $54 for the spoiled order, but know that that one was my mistake, and Im willing to eat the cost of that. Ive attached my payment history to Sunbasket. *** spent a lot of money with them and would appreciate the refund.
