On April 11, 2025 I was charged $1906 on my monthly Apple Pay statement. My membership is only supposed to be $16.99 a month. Upon further review, every month since October, Ive been receiving random charges totaling more than $7,400. Im not getting a response from Otter and cant find a way to cancel my service. I want a full refund and I want my subscription canceled immediately. These expenses have caused my bank account to be overdrawn and has impacted my credit. Also if their system has been breached causing this to occur I expect that they notify people.Initial Complaint

Have been a loyal Otter.ai customer for 2+ years.Payment on my account was prepaid and current. Have been locked out of my account for a week. Made several requests through their online help system.Otter.ai does not provide customer service support by phone, live chat or ************* is unresponsive.They are holding my data hostage. I was double charged for an annual membership on my credit card. I have one subscription but I was charged for 2. I contacted Otter AI, which only uses AI and email support. They have not responded to my numerous attempts at resolution. I have canceled this APP and now want a full refund of my $211.98. I was charged $99.99 for a service with this company I never used and never authorized. I reached out via the only support option they provide, and submitted a form to request a refund for the unauthorized charges. They never responded. The charge is fraudulent and they have done nothing to return my money. It's a shame that they do not respond to support requests and they have no number or email for people to contact them. Otter.ai has engaged in unethical practices by automatically transcribing and sending meeting transcriptions without users' explicit consent or awareness. Upon creating a free basic account, there is no clear or immediate notification that the default setting allows Otter.ai to automatically transcribe and distribute transcriptions of any meeting on the user's calendar associated with the email used to sign ***** my case, OtterPilot automatically transcribed two meetings conducted on ********* Teams and sent the transcriptions to individuals who had responded that they would attend, despite me not attending one of the meetings. One of these meetings was confidential, and I did not authorize its transcription or distribution. This automatic setting, without clear user consent, is highly unethical and violates privacy standards.I deleted my account after discovering this issue. Otter.ais practice of not clearly informing users of the default settings at the time of account creation is deceptive and misleading. Users should be clearly informed about the automatic transcription feature and be given the choice to opt-in rather than having it enabled by default.I am seeking an investigation into this matter and urge Otter.ai to revise their practices to ensure transparency and respect for users privacy.Initial Complaint

Paid for a subscription to Otter ai in September 2024 for one year renewal -- the software no longer works -- requested a password reset that never came. Use chat kept getting the same message over and over again. Requested technical assistance was referred to articles. This is a company that looks to gain access to an organization then spams all users on any calendar invites to also get their application. Seems incredibly predatory and the user has a very difficult time actually removing the application, which they didnt even consent to adding.Initial Complaint

***** charged me sales tax for my plan, even though I live in a state where there is no sales tax. This should be a small, simple thing to rectify, but I've tried to contact them multiple times over the past 2 weeks and have gotten zero reply. Chats disconnect when I ask to talk to a human, emails go unanswered, and the phone number listed for them on this site is not in service. I'm currently looking for a way to delete my account and am dreading trying to get that done.Customer Answer

Otter has charged me an ****** over a 6 month period. Im not sure what the charge is for. I cant reach anyone. There is no phone number, no email. I have logged compliant with my credit card but I cant reach *****.
